(OOC - so I'm assuming that the group has seen the second scrap 50ft ahead because it's been mentioned? Or am I misreading that?)
Morn chuckles as Sirq saves Samael from the hornets, "You seem a little flighty there Sirq. Is everything alright?" He steps forward down the path towards the second scrap of fabric. "So, Frankie left himself a trail by the looks of it. Do we leave it too, or take these scraps with us?"
Morn notices Samael acting squirrely, and looks past him and sees a second scrap of fabric in the distance. So far the path they mark seems to be keeping along the raised portion here, whether that is only due to ease of passage or not is yet to be seen.

"Interesting," Morn walks forward and inspects the fabric. He looks back to Samael a moment, eyes squinting momentarily, as he wonders what is going on with his colleague. "We have a second fabric piece here. The path appears reasonably straight forward, along this raised section of the swamp. My guess is ease of access and it keeps him away from the dangers of the swamp to some degree. We should continue, though I'm not sure if you want to take down this marker or not."
(i'm not, but blindly walking ahead is a death sentence.)
"leave the cloth, a trail is far better when it is undisturbed." Samael speaks as he moves forward, side-stepping a swarm of insects and making his way to morn.
Morn, you see another strip in the distance, farther ahead, barely visible through the branches of the swamp. Looking back, you can still see the first strip, but barely.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Morn makes a note of this vague distance between the strips of fabric marking the path. "Well, I can see the next point. Seems Frankie kept the markers just within sight of each other. Smart. Far enough away so as not be easily discovered and followed, but close enough that standing at one you can see the next so as not to wander aimlessly through the swamp. Let's make our way to the next point and see if we can make out our next waypoint." And with that, Morn slowly, and carefully watching his footfalls, makes his way to the next piece of fabric. Once there, he makes a note of its location and then scans for the next one (Perception: 18).
((With two back to back 20+ checks, I'll say Morn's got the hang of it now and you'll be able to continue spotting them, but would like a Survival check from someone other than Morn, we'll say he's focused on spotting the next markers.))

One scrap of fabric might be a fluke, as second scrap is a pattern!

(can someone else make a perception+survival check combo? I don't wanna be the schmuck that dies like in the movies)
((Understandable, but I'm not going to spring instant death consequences on you... If things devolve into metagamey roll spamming though... 😁))

Sirq volunteers to lead the way. "Don't worry," he reassures to Samael. "I got this."
Sirq Perception: 8

(Why do you think I'll let someone else do it!?)
Sirq doesn't see the fabric, but he notes the pattern of flying insects, and realizes that Samael was about to step into a nest of ground hornets.
((Why do you think I'd only come for them? :P ))
