(OOC - nice check there Trin! Also @Spider, Morn's HP is 13/17 +5temp. He'd take 4 damage from the two servants that attacked him while next to the king.)
Morn quickly moves to the hut, stopping just outside to take a few deep breathes, then plunges inside. "Frankie? Are you in here? Are you alright?"
You didn't see the mace in action, since the only swing the king got in at Morn missed, but the flames licking up its side don't seem to be burning with any heat, but are clearly magical. The king didn't seem to be taking any damage from it until you heated it up on him. You're well familiar with some magic items needing to be attuned to their wielder, and since you forced the frog king to drop the mace and he fled... he's still attuned to it. You suspect that might play a role here. In order to break the king's attunement, someone else could attune to it... though that seems a dodgy proposition, given that it hurts to pick it up, spending the time to attune to it yourself might very well be lethal. Alternately, if the king were to be killed, his attunement would break, or if it was kept well out of his possession for a whole day.
Morn, you arrive at the hut and push through the hide curtains, the scent of blood mingling with the fetid swamp odor in an unpleasant way. Horatio's reporting had prepared you a bit, but Frankie is in a bad way, tied to the wall, beaten and crusted with blood, eyes swollen shut, and almost all of his fingers have been removed (crushed? bitten?). The only two left are the middle finger on each hand. Horatio, you arrive on Morn's heels, and see Frankie much the same as you did through Gandalon's eyes, though some of the blood crusted over, and some fresh in other places.
Frankie twitches at your call and gives out a low moaning sob, pink spittle running from his split lip, revealing occasional dark sockets in his gum where teeth used to be.
Trinjya will put the mace into her backpack to see if she can carry it around without hurting herself if she is not physically touching it. (I' m sure there is a way to get it in without touching it too)
You have seen some members of your party summon magical hands and use them to manipulate things. Morn and Horatio are at least immediately occupied with the hut, but Samael'd see your conundrum, if he wished to offer his assistance. I'll say either through that or through some laborious backpack scooting and prodding with a couple sticks, you're able to get it in your pack. At first, it was resting near the back, and the ethereal flames were licking through the pack, to where they'd come in contact with your back... but you're able to shift some stuff around, or tie it on the outside in a way where it's held away from your body enough to not be an potential issue. Your pack looks a bit like it's burning with pale blue flames, but it doesn't seem to damage the pack.

Samael makes his way to the hut, leaving Trinjya to figure out how to get the mace in her pack on her own, though Sirq joins her and helps keep watch while holding her bag.
Inside the hut, Samael's not sure why Morn and Horatio seem so interested in that dead human body, and he pokes around a bit, finding a folded over scrap of dirty parchment. Taking it out into better light, he unfolds it and finds not words, but a rather crudely painted depiction of a nude frog person lounging on a rug? Or maybe a lily pad? They have an expression that might have been intended to be coyly seductive, but it mostly looks nauseated.
Trinjya now finally reached the "playing the flute and feeling awesome doing it" state and she will do that until she gets bored. (If the others stay in the hut for too long)
Actually... with it in her pack, it's now too heavy for Trinjya to manage. She has proof of concept that it's safe, but she's certain that if she tried going anywhere with it in her pack, she'd topple over, sink and drown.
Her flute must have gotten some swamp gunk in it, she sits down and works on cleaning it out and getting it back in playing shape, so isn't really keeping much of an eye on things. Sirq's standing silently by, however as she begins playing a lovely tune.
((Trinjya has no pack slots for loot to be able to haul it back in. And carrying it on her person would likely hurt. Sirq's got a spot or two, if you want to pack mule him up.))
((It' s one slot for onehanded weapons right? Trinjya sjould have that since she share one slot in food earlyer. Anyways she will sit there playing her flute with a kind of flaming backpack in front of her))
Morn employs Horatio to help him untie Frankie and then help him out of the hut and over to where Trinjya sits with the mace. "He's in bad shape, but alive. Our froggy king has continue his run west." He looks around at the carnage, "Do we want to quickly look over the bodies and get out of here? We'd best get Frankie home sooner rather than later. He's in no great shape to travel much further out. Our boat should still be waiting."
((It's clear he's in rough shape, but someone could give him a medicine check. I'll take an Investigation check from each of you if you're looting, and what/where you're searching.))
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
While he's not overly confident when it comes to his medicinal skills, Morn checks over Frankie to see if he can make him more comfortable (Medicine: 18).
Morn would do a look through the tent for anything of value, or information that might lead them to Frankie's treasure (Investigation: 15).
"Gandalon - check the corpses for valuables. If you've got Frankie, we don't have as much time as I'd like. We still need to get back to the barge, and that's without looking to make a stop at wherever our friend here found that special coin."
Still under the effects of his magically expedited pace, Horatio will search the bodies as well, and anything else that catches his eye, for signs of treasure or useful equipment.
"I could send my imp associate ahead to make sure that the barge doesn't leave without us - and generally to check up on circumstances there. I seem to recall that we might be in a bit of a political situation with regard to the more humanoid locals..."

Morn, you check Frankie over. Not only is he close to death, you expect he has a long road to recovery and is going to be slow moving on the way out of here. If the party has healing to provide, it would be welcome, but what he needs more than anything is rest and and a chance at recuperation. He's twitchy and startles easily, at least in part because his ability to see is impaired by his bruised and swollen face, but it seems that he's been through some trauma as well.
((Mechanically, he is in single digit HP, and has accumulated enough Stress and Exhaustion that he's in a bad way. He can only move at a shuffle, with someone assisting him (I assume this can be Sirq's role), so will be slowing the party down. Speaking of Sirq...))
Sirq comes over and hums a soothing song. 9
Frankie gives a ragged gasp and some of the swelling goes down, enough that he's able to peer out at you with wild, unfocused eyes, darting rapidly around, but when no frogmen are in evidence, he sobs in relief.
((He's 'fine' healthwise, unless you get in a scrap where he takes 10+ damage, but he's still slow moving and will be of little help, having a lot he's dealing with and only two fingers to his name.))
Morn heads in to check the hut, and finds assorted carved items that probably don't hold much value or appeal to anyone not a frog person. He does find a crude pouch of fabric strips that are dirty and crumpled. Almost as if they'd once been tied to something, then been untied by wet little froggy fingers...
(OOC - agreed. Get Frankie back and then we have him in our debt... more likely to get some riches from him then.)
"Well it looks like the frog men here untied a heap of Frankie's markers," Morn says as he returns from his search of the hut, "Hope you can remember the way once you're feeling better, Frankie. Not gonna lie, we were real tempted to search for the treasure rather than you." Once everyone is happy they've searched, Morn looks to everyone, "I'm good to go. The captain will be waiting for us and that's the quickest and safest way home. So we'd best make haste."
Horatio, with Gandalon's help, you check a bunch of downed guards. Besides the hide armor of various make and the spears they carry, you find an assortment of dried meats of dubious origin that Gandalon seems thrilled with, and a small trove, all combined, of pretty shells and polished rocks ranging from ore to semiprecious stone, at least some of which should hold value. You find a set of fine bone dice, and a golden locket that one of them was wearing as a bracelet, any painting within has been destroyed by frequent submersion.
Morn:
You still feel the king lurking somewhere nearby. It was to the west, but he's circled around a bit, and is currently to the south.
