edit: "so it is." samael doubts that he was here accidentally, but doesn't know for certain. he does his work but keeps a wary eye on both sirq and Horatio (be honest, you wouldn't trust someone who willingly dealt with devils.)
Realising that she has been noticed, but her attempt to sneak up to the others is widely ignored, Trinjya will just turn to sweep the banks of the river opposit to where the boat is with her eyes for anything potwntially threatening, pretending that that's what she was up to in the first place.
The rest of the day passes largely uneventfully, the quick eyes of those helping watch out for danger alerting the crew to things to be avoided, and as darkness starts to fall, you prepare to make camp again, Clem and his boys poling the boat in to another quiet eddy.
((Sirq and Samael, give me another Con Save?))

It seems that the previous day's hard labor conditioned you both to a bit more physical exertion, and you feel no worse off tonight than you did last night. Hopefully a good night's rest has you ready for some adventuring.
Clem and his boys set to making dinner for themselves, but sharing the use of the fire if any of you wish to make use of it.
((Any questions for Clem or other things to address before setting watches for the night?))

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Before turning in, Clem sends one of his boys ashore who returns with a branch the length of his arm, and a few inches in diameter. Clem peels the bark from it, revealing a white interior traced with red lines.
"This here's veinwood. We're getting close to marshfolk territory, it'll let them know we're not here for causing harm."
The peeled branch looks not dissimilar to thin, pale arm with veins going up it.
((Morn or Trinjya taking third then.))

The evening passes, and your watches are undisturbed by pumpers or any other river or marsh wildlife. As dawn starts to break, Horatio, give me a Perception check please!
Horatio looks around for the veinwood that Clem had so assiduously gathered and prepared. Upon finding it, Horatio will heft it up over his head, letting the humanoid see it.

(meh, sirq will die first. probably.)
(and i'm good.)
(woop. sorry.)
"Nope, nothing," Sirq lies. "Just been scrubbing the deck. It's in need of a good scrubbing, isn't it?"

Morn looks around the skies as they set up for the night. "At least we know what to watch out for tonight."
Sirq shudders. "Yes, I know, I wouldn't want to face those pumpers again." He'll take the first watch while it's still relatively light outside.
Horatio claims the last watch of the night once more. (Anyone wish to provide a ration for the evening?)
samael takes second watch.

You have a feeling you're being watched, and looking around, you spot a silhouetted shape of a humanoid among the vegetation, only 20 feet away.
