"We stick to our part of the Marsh, where we know the hazards."
They look the toothy maw of the creature you're having for breakfast.
"Yeah, there's a lot of stuff in the Marsh that'll kill you if you're not careful. Some creatures, some people-like, some... other."
((I don't have the area bestiary fleshed out, but I'll say that to represent them giving you a run down of some of the hazards, Trinjya and Samael, as the two best able to communicate with them, will have two "Marsh Knowledge Tokens" that you can redeem when making an "knowledge" type check with advantage in the future to figure out what might be going on.))

"Thank you so much. We were worried about Frankie, since he was gone from town for so long. Could you tell us when was the last time you saw him?"
Trinjya is doing her best to get her message across, gesticulating where she is missing the words.
"If we get lost in the swamp and end up in vicinity of your home, would we be welcome there or are there places out her that townsfolk like us should avoid?"
"Clem has shown you how to signal peaceful intentions, if you approach openly in peace, you would get a chance to speak. You know the creeping scarlet? Anywhere you see that is a place to avoid."

"while i know of the vine you speak of, i will need to see a picture or sample of one to identify it properly. Elder, Boatmaster Clem, do either of you have such a sample?"
((You know exactly what the plant looks like, it's a parasitic vine that produces red leaves, you're confident you'd be able to spot it if you come across it.))

Morn continues to try and follow the conversations being had, hearing the name of Frankie every now and then, but making out no more than that. He sits to the side and has a small meal and gets out his jeweller's kit to clean the swamp grime from his couple of rings while he waits for the others to complete their conversation with the marsh man.
((I may have my time lines off, but the intent was that they saw him when he was out before returning to town with coins and stories. The plant is harmless, so you take it to be something that is planted near dangers as a warning.))

Morn nods, "That would prove most beneficial. It may take some time off our search given their intimate knowledge of the marshes. Though, I'm not entirely sure what they would want in return for services."
"Yes, let us see what they wish to be payed - I wouldn't mind the additional experience with the area, and it might be particularly beneficial to be on good terms with the locals this far from town. They must know some things that we, and perhaps even you, Clem, do not know about these marshes."
"Or any... particularly dangerous creatures?" Sirq adds.

It sounds somewhat familiar to Samael, some sort of vine? He's not sure he could identify one in the wild though.

(OOC: does that make them the last people who saw Frankie alive?
Also, is the plant dangerous or is it growing in places that would be dangerous?)
