(technically, we're all not doing anything because we suck at strength rolls. I say we all vacate the place and let kass use her block and tackle because we've all failed so hard XD)
As Kanlos joins in with the effort, and Io calls for divine guidance, you are able to pull up the cage. The sailor inside looks relieved as she is released from the cage. You would notice now that she has multiple small wounds on her torso, legs, and arms, where the harpies poked and jabbed her with spears from outside the cage.
You have 3 more cages to pull up, as well as the rookeries to investigate if you wish.
Io will tell his party that he is going to take a short detour and investigate the rookeries. He has a separate motive here though as he wishes to see if there are any signs of the missing medusa having come this way on the rookeries.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Xerronios takes a deep breath. He was weaker than he thought. "Well, that was tough going, friends. Perhaps a song will make the work easier." As they move to the next cage, he begins singing an ancient work song of sailors he learned in Oxus. He keeps singing it as they work to pull up the next cage.
You swing another rope down to a cage, and it gets tied on, but, working alone, that is just not quite enough to pull the sailor in the cage up. Let's ee another roll to see if two of you can manage it together.
Io Moving into the rookerie you find a multi-nest area. There is no signs of any statues, or stone at all for that matter, mostly just wood and cloth. Gold, silver, and copper glint among the nests though, and a few objects stick out of them here and there as well. You can give me an investigation check if you want to search the nests themselves.
(sorry the notifications have failed me again :-( ... the last message I got was from the 27.03.)
Since all the harpies are gone Kassiopeia will check up Io and patch up his wounds.
Healer Healing: 9
After Io looks less leaky Kassiopeia walks over to Xerronios and do the same for him.
Healer Healing: 11
When Xerronios looks better she will join the effort to rescue the sailors by removing the rope from her waist and tossing the end to the next cage.
Since the grappling hook is still holding in position the rope (if caught) can be used to secure the cage against falling while another rope is used to pull it up.
In the rookeries Io finds the following... 2700 CP 1000 SP 40 GP 9 50 gp gems
There are two items that feel magical...
ring OF Alter Winds Ring, very rare (requires attunement by a Druid, Sorcerer, Warlock, or Wizard) The ring has 10 charges. While wearing it, you can use an action to expend 1 or more of its charges to cast one of the following spells from it, using your spell save DC: gust of wind (1 charge), control winds (5 charges), or whirlwind (7 charges). The ring regains 1d6 + 4 expended charges daily at dawn. If you expend the last charge, roll a d20. On a 1, the ring dissolves into clouds that dissipate, and is destroyed.
mirror shield OF mAgIC reflection Wondrous Item, rare (requires attunement) This perfect mirror reflects magic cast on the wielder back at the caster. If you are targeted with a spell that can target only one creature, you can use your reaction to reflect the effect back on the caster, and the spell instead targets them.
Gemstones are all 50 GP and the specific stones are... 1 Carnelian 2 Citrines 1 Jasper 2 Moonstones 1 Star rose quartz
Working together a second cage is hauled up onto the top of the spire. inside is a cut and dirty sailor. he is happy to be rescued and, once free of the cage, slumps ontot he ground with the female sailor you rescued previously. Two more cages to go...
Kassiopeia gets another rope down to the third cage, and the sailor inside is able to attach the grappling hook to the cage.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Io Takes the stuff he found in the Rockeries and stows them in his pack for later distribution among the party. For now he returns to the others to help with lifting the cages. He will help the party with pulling the 3rd cage up.
Io is a bit confused by how hard it appears to be to pull a cage down. He will cast Guidance on Kanlos, adding a 4 to his roll
(this is when we all regret not bringing a barbarian along XD)
ooc: We are pulling the cages up, not down.

What do I roll to investigate the rookeries?
Kanlos sighs and looks to others, "Well, one down, let's work on the others. Perhaps my lord isn't ready to take them away just yet."

Ritha tries to assist Xerronios in pulling up the cage: STR 9 (If the song he's singing gave advantage, 16 instead).
Kanlos will help pull as best he can as well.

Io will thank Kass for the first aid before checking the rockeries. He takes a closer look at the nests.
