Looking around, Xerronios is less than thrilled by the terrain ahead. "Let's backtrack the zombies, and do it quickly. The turning only lasts so long."
Io says, "Turning lasts a minute. Since we are backtracking the zombies, perhaps we can shoot them from afar one at a time and pick them off while we proceed."
Ok, despite you two giving exactly opposite options, one says to backtrack, which means go the opposite way the zombies are currently going, while the other says to follow them and try to pick them off one-at-a-time, I am going to have you follow them. This is taking a lot of time to make a decision that truly is not going to affect much regardless.
I am going to allow you to simply take out the zombies as you follow them, as you have a full minute to do so, so that is ten rounds, with three of you attacking each zombie. Even with misses, you are still likely to more-often-than-not hit an AC of 8, and the HP is only 22, so I don't think it worth an encounter-style approach to take them out.
After taking out the zombies, you continue to follow the beaten path, and see more shambling figures ahead, coming your way. These next rattle a they walk, and it does not take much to recognize them as skeletons. One towers above the others, a minotaur skeleton.
As you watch this second band of undead, you notice something. They are not just shambling around meaninglessly, but seem to be patrolling. The first batch, you now realize, was doing the same.
Kanlos pauses and looks back at the others, "They seem to have some purpose, rather than just mindlessness. The question is whether they're intelligent or controlled."
Xerronios nods his agreement, "I agree. However, undead of this type are generally controlled and not intelligent. They can carry out simple or even complex tasks but, in the end, someone is controlling them and giving them their tasks."
Kanlos nods a little sheepishly, "That's true, I wasn't really thinking about it. Do they follow directions as given or need to be controlled more directly though?"
Io says, "I still believe that they might be under the command of Erebos or one of his Clerics."
"I'm sure they are under the command of one of his priests. But that's no reason to let them kill us, or even proof we shouldn't interfere," Xerronios replied. He nods at the approaching skeletons. "I wonder if they've seen us. I'm going to find out." He looks around for a place to hide.
Well you have coral reefs that are bare and blocking the view of anything towards the center of the island. You could try to climb them if you wished, but not sure if you want to do that or not.

(My bad, must have misread something.)
Kanlos would agree to track wherever the zombies had come from, but would be hesitant, though willing, to continue to their fight.

Xerronios nods. "Let's move. A minute is not long."

Please everyone give me an insight check.

What do you do about the approaching skeletons? Do you move away, ready to ambush, move to attack, or do something else?

Kanlos looks around for some high ground he could climb to.

The only high ground is the above-ground coral reef. It has many cave-like openings in it that could be a possibility.
Not looking for a place to hide, looking for a place to get a good view.
