Gentle waves pull at the pebbly shore, each roiling the stones beneath the water with a sound like a distant crowd cheering. The relatively calmer sea here might be deceptive. A way along the beach, the sun-bleached spars of a broken boat project from the ground, like the ribcage of an animal. A beaten path runs parallel to the shoreline, crushed into the pebbled sand as if countless feet have moved there since time unknown.
The skeletal forms of masts, tangled with tattered sails and knotted riggings, protrude from the shallow waters. The ship ran aground long ago, lost in a storm or blind in the fog. The rocks jut upward like curving tusks: barbed daggers waiting to puncture the soft underbellies of wayward vessels. The ship itself is half sunken in the surf, buffeted by the tide, half-drowned, overgrown with barnacles and kelp. Windlass huddles aboard the ship, watching the passing skeletons, and putting up their protective spells in case of need. Meanwhile Livilias has picked up a salt-crusted board, prepared to slip into the water near the ship.
Xerronios, Io, and Kanlos huddle, waist-deep in the cool sea, attempting to crouch behind another ship. A gaping hole, smashed through the timbers of the ship’s partially submerged hull, allows a school of fish to swim through into the lower decks, most of which is now underwater. The mast has been broken in half, the boom punched through the deck into the yawning hull below. Strong hands must have attempted a change of course at the last moment, to no avail, as the linkage from the wheel to the rudder has been broken. Exposure has eaten away at what parts of sail still remain, rent through with enormous tears. Where a hardy crew of sailors once thought to impose their will upon the waters of the open ocean, the seas and storms have reasserted their dominance over those who dare to defy their dangers.
In the center of the mass of smaller skeletons the hulking figure of the minotaur moves down the path. As large and powerful as the minotaur body from which it was fashioned, the horned skeleton brandishes an enormous greataxe with ease and walks with menacing purpose.
Livilias you are currently up, as this round begins. The skeletons seem to be passing your hiding spot by, though they do appear to be heading to where they last saw those 3 newcomers. What would you like your action to be? You have picked up your plank, and can either be in the wreck you started in, or in the water near it, your choice. From there you can specify this turn's action.
Livilias is in the water next to the vessel. He is keeping himself as submerged as possible, nose just above the water. Livilias keeps hold of the board, both to maintain his position but also as a bit of a security blanket, he is not the best swimmer and is still not comfortable in water. He is staying out of sight of the patrolling undead, Owlie informing him of their position so he does not need peek around the corner. He's not yet decided the best course of action here and does not want to provoke a fight if one need not happen. He's survived so far by avoiding the undead, not by fighting them...
So Livilias attempts to maintain his hidden position ((Stealth? 22 if needed)) and will hold a Chill Touch ready to cast at the first skeleton that seems to spot him and his location.
If needed - Chill Touch Attack: 13 Damage: 7 Necrotic. Target has disadvantage on attacks versus me if hit until end of my next round...
Owlie (on their turn) is just trying to stay in the sky around the area, around 40-50 feet away from whatever skellies are closest to Livilias...
As a smallish owl circles overhead one of the skeletons strides down the packed rut in the sand of the beach. It, at first appears not to notice anything as it moves, then the gleaming white skull locks onto something, and it stares straight at Io, not as well hidden behind the hull of the wrecked ship as his companions. The skeleton moves, drawing forth a short sowrd, as it rushes towards the living being it has now spotted.

((I'm guessing the map is up to date?))
Io notices that the skeleton see him but not his allies. Perhaps this good give them an opportunity to ambush the skeletons. He begins heading away from his hiding place, trying to draw the skeletons away from Xerrinos and Kanlos. He draws his warhammer, figuring that breaking bones would be easier than cutting them. The fact that the skeletons seem to be so grouped together is also a bonus. He holds up his shield and from it, he fires a beam of sickly blue fire at Skeleton 7
Io A sickly hand grasps the skeleton warrior as Io strides through the surf, heading towards the beach, but slightly angling away from the skeletons, hoping to keep their attention from his hidden companions. The bone where the hand grasp the skeletal shoulder appears to become brittle and grayish, the skeleton not appearing to notice the damage, though it appears slightly weaker than it had been a moment earlier.
Kanlos Stepping to where he can see the skeletons past the ancient wreck, Kanlos lifts his bow and takes careful aim. With a twang of a loosed bowstring, the arrow slices through the air and drives into the skeleton's skull, shattering the bone. As the skull shatters the bones of the rest of the skeletons body tumble to the ground, scattering across the beaten path in the sand.
skeleton5 Rushes forward to join the attack on the flesh and blood it now can see. It lifts a short bow as it moves, sending an arrow at Io... Shortbow. Ranged Weapon Attack: 14 to hit, range 80/320 ft., one target. Hit: 4
piercing damage. Owlie Flies in slow circles overhead.
skeleton1 Dashes around the rest of the skeletons, moving towards the group, but cannot get into range to use its short sword.
Windlass is now up... Please post action. You are still aboard one of the wrecks, a way out from the beach.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Windlass moves 15 feet north to the edge of the wreck, and raises her hand, palm out. Four streaks of fire shoot out, aimed at four of the skeletons. Then she drops into the water next to the wreck, sinking as far down as she can with the remainder of her movement.
Action: cast scorching ray at 3rd level for 4 rays at S6, S8, S1, and S6
S6 Scorching Ray Attack: 18 Damage: 4 fire damage
S8 Scorching Ray Attack: 27 Damage: 6 fire damage
S1 Scorching Ray Attack: 19 Damage: 6 fire damage
S5 Scorching Ray Attack: 16 Damage: 9 fire damage
Move: 25 feet north and then 5 feet down, aiming to get some cover if at all possible
The four blasts of fire takes the skeletons by surprise, as they all seem to react quite a bit to being shot by flames. Bits of skeleton is blasted off, but all four of them continue moving.
ooc: I'm not really sure where everyone is and that map was very hard to read.
Xerronios stares in surprise as the 4 beams of fire or heat lance out and scorch 4 of the skeletons.. So, they had allies here, at least for now. Strumming a few notes on his lute, he calls out The sounds of battle, the heat of the war.
ooc: he would prefer to center the spell on the 4 skeletons damaged by the Scorching Ray, unless there is an even better group. Please center the spell for maximum effect.
Xerronios Causes a thunderous spell of shattering sound to catch two of the skeletons. (#8 and #1 are caught in the blast, #8 makes the save and #1 does not. Neither goes down.)
Skeletons 2 of the skeletons rush towards the South, but do not get within range with their short swords this round. Two more, #6 and #8 move towards the one that sent fire blasts at them, they also don't reach the flesh-and-blood enemy this round.
minotaur skeleton The massive horned skeleton starts to run down the beach, heading towards Io. Still a distance away at the end of the round though.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Well if we're to have allies I suppose we must ensure they survive!" Livilias says merrily to himself, unsure if Windlass is within earshot or not.
Livilias casts Inflict Wounds on the minotaur skeleton at second level. He does so in the following way:
Livilias casts the spell.
His familiar Owlie delivers the spell. From Find Familiar - Finally, when you cast a spell with a range of touch, your familiar can deliver the spell as if it had cast the spell. Your familiar must be within 100 feet of you, and it must use its reaction to deliver the spell when you cast it. If the spell requires an attack roll, you use your attack modifier for the roll.
Owlie then swoops out of melee using the owl Flyby feature (The owl doesn't provoke opportunity attacks when it flies out of an enemy's reach.)
This is going to be a very common procedure for Livilias, using his familiar to deliver "touch" spells while he stays cheerfully out of range of the messy melee...
Livilias moves only as much as he needs to in order to try to stay hidden (as much as he is) in the water yet stay close enough to effectively direct his familiar.
