Io (and anyone else with a 15 or better on perception) notices other figures, looking exactly like those you just fought, approaching further down the beach in both directions. More from the same direction the previous batch came from, and fewer from the other direction. The smaller group of figures are also further away.
Io says to the party, "We should retreat for now. There are too many undead coming in waves. While they are still far, we should try and either make it to a shelter or make it back to our boat."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

Windlass also look for a likely spot amid the caves that could be a safe harbor for the group, large enough to be comfortable yet out of view of the undead. If not, she will look for a nearby shipwreck (likely the one she and Livilias had holed up in) that would be easy to get to and out of view.
You can make it to either a cave, there are hundreds of them and finding one to fit you won't be an issue, or to the same wreck the newcomers were sheltering in previously. You cannot make it back to the rowboat the main group used to get to the island, as that is too far away right now.
Xerronios notices the approaching undead, silently ensures his companions are aware of them, then points to the caves, using them all to moves as quickly and quietly as possible.
You find a cave that will fit you all, and, luckily for you, is uninhabited by anything dangerous currently. Moving inside you all settle in while the small owl keeps its master informed on the goings on on the beach. Both groups of undead converge on the spot of the recent battle with the drowned blades, these new drowned blades seemingly knowing exactly where to go to find their defeated kin. After milling around for a bit, the undead return to the beaten path and start out again, obviously going back on patrol.
It is evening now, or getting close to it anyway. You can either stay here in a cave, return to one of the shipwrecks, or try to get to the rowboat and return to the Proud Jester.
As you do settle in the little owl, once the undead move off again, returns and lets its master remove a note from its leg. The note reads: "I will leave it up to you. If it is too dangerous, then we can move on, but I worry we may have missed what we seek if we leave the center of the island unexplored. Again, I must leave the call up to you, as this is what you were brought along for. Gnorcys"
Io asks his companions in the evening, "Do we continue to spend the night here or should we move to one of the wrecks? If we are to spend the night here, we should attempt to mount some kind of defense against further patrols or attacks."
Livilias would have had Owlie pay close attention to the new undead when they arrived at the battle site, trying to determine if there was any sort of investigation done, search, or just arrived and moved on. Also would be looking to tell if the new undead claimed anything from the bodies of the defeated or not. Would go into his "blind shell" and watch through the familiars eyes so he could see for himself.
"The cave is dry... Warm enough... And no creepy crawlies seem to be creeping or crawling! I say we not press our luck and try to return to our little cubby hole about the ship. In truth, we probably have an easier vantage to watch for searchers here... " Livilias offers. In truth he's reluctant to reveal their hidden hole to the others anyway. "Only one way in and out of here and we can post a guard on that..."
Xerronios nods in agreement with Livilias. "I think we spend the night here, rest, keep watch, and strike out to the center of the island in the morning."
Livilias The owl, and you through its eyes, would see that there is no search of the area being done by the undead. They also take nothing from the undead you fought. It seems more like they somehow knew where their kindred undead were located, and came to that location via some sort of call sent out by the ones you fought.
Everyone Please tell me watch order and give me perception checks for each watch.
Kanlos nods, "Agreed, let's stay here for the night. But I think it'd be a good idea to try and work out a way to camouflage the entrance. Better to avoid the fight than lose if they pen us in and summon more reinforcements, In the morning, I think we should at least look into the center of the island."
Xerronios begins to move, but sees his intended target knocked down before he gets there. He smiles ruefully and shoots at the remaining undead.

But his passive perception is 15, does that qualify?

(Passive is fine. If passive is 15 or better then it applies.)

Moving on to the caves...
