Windlass sends another blast of loud thunder energy out, blasting the three crabs nearest her. Two go down, one of which is thrown back from her. The third crab, #4, stays close though, and remains up. (Two saved, but one of those had only 4 hp, so went down anyway. The other failed the save and also was taken out.)
Kanlos
Kanlos shoots at the sole remaining crab near Windlass, but misses.
Io
Io's Vampiric Touch lands true, sucking vitality from the huge crab. The spectral blades though do not find any chinks in the massive crab's shell.
Huge Crab
The huge crab is clearly angry by its prey continuing to hurt it. It clamps down hard with the claw holding Io. It gets a critical hit, damage is 49... Sorry Io!
Xerronios
You are up. There is one of the smaller crabs left by Windlass and the hulking crab, which may have just put Io out of commission...
Xerronios turns and charges after the big crab holding Io. As he closes to within 30 feet of the crab, he plays a tune on his Doss Lute, then sings "O' my friend, you are a mighty crab. My friend and I mean you no harm. Please let him go." Then he calls out, "Lady of Fate, grant my friend thy protection!"
ooc: I know he cannot normally cast 2 spells but in reality he is playing the Doss Lute to "You can use an action to play the instrument and cast one of its spells." So in reality I think he's using the magic item which is doing the actual casting.

Sorry, that is not how it works. You are casting a bonus action spell, so you cannot cast any more leveled spells during your turn. Even using the lute, you still are casting the spell, just through the lute. The only difference is that you are using the Use-A-Object action to cast the spell, not the Spell-Action. It is still you casting the spell though. The only way, at least I know of, to cast two leveled spells on your turn is to use Action Surge and not cast either spell as a bonus action. Please revise this action to decide which spell you wish to cast.

The huge crab pauses and turns to Xerronios. It slowly opens its clawsa nd lets Io fall limply to the ground. It then scuttles back a few feet, watching you all with more curiosity now than hostility.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Xerronios approaches slowly, doing everything he can to appear non-threatening as he makes his way to Io. As soon as he is close enough to touch he murmurs to the Lady of Fate for help as he casts Cure Wounds on his friend.
Kanlos holds his bow ready, but not quite aimed at the crab, "Is he alright? And is it going to attack again?"
Xerronios shrugs as he tends to Io, helping him to a sitting position. "Io's going to be fine. I doubt my friend the crab will attack anytime soon...as long as we don't attack it."
Io sits up, now that he's a bit more stable. He jams his long sword into the ground to help him stand. He inspects the dent in his golden armor and says, "That did not go as well as expected. I thought I had the situation under control too."
The crab continues to regard you, but does not make any hostile motions towards anyone. Nearby you would notice a churned up area of sand, where the hulking crab was taking Io. You can see glints of metal in that sand. If you wish to investigate, please give me an investigation check.
Searching through the sand Windlass and Xerronios are able to find coins, rusted weapons, and rusted armor. A couple items seem to have held up against the sand and water, and look pristine enough to have been dropped there only moments ago. These items also detect as magical. (I am waiting for the lists in the OOC before saying what magic items you found...)

Kanlos will turn his aim and fire a carefully placed arrow at one of the nearer crabs.

Can Windlass get three crabs with another thunderwave?
She really needs more AoE spells with the target of self.
Yep, if you angle it just so, you can hit all three of the crabs nearest you.
Windlass fires again with thunderwave: 5, CON 14 save

ooc: How far is Xerronios from the large crab?
Tandor the White, Human Life Cleric
((Yeah Io's down. The crit brought him down from Full HP))
Xerronios is 60 feet exactly from the huge crab.

Uses the Doss Lute to cast Animal Friendship on the crab, asking for Io to be released.
Bonus Action: Cast Sanctuary on Io.

Combat is over. Io is unconscious though.
