In the sand of the nest you find 3 magical items... There is a suit of full plate armor, that gleams as if brand new, despite the untold years it has likely laid in these sands. There is a cloak that resembles a manta ray in design, that also does not seem to have been affected by the sandy place it has lain for the last many years. There is also a small pouch, which, when opened, seems much larger inside than the outside would suggest. It also has not been damaged at all by the sand and water all around. The bag is empty though.
After claiming what loot you can find, with the hulking crab standing off to one side, more interested than upset now, you look up to see you have traveled only about 1/3 of the way across the sandy expanse. There is still much further to go, unless you wish to hole up in a wreck and rest before continuing. The large wreck nearby is suitable for a rest if that is desired.
"How long will that crab remain friendly?"Windlass asks. "Will it come with us to deter other attackers?"
"The spell lasts about a day," Xerronios replies as he picks up the Bag of Holding. "I don't know if it'll come with us but I won't ask it to, but I also won't ask it not to. It'll decide on its own." Showing the bag to the others, he asks, "Anyone mind if I take this? We can put all the coins we just found in it."
Windlass says, "take what you wish. I am happy to identify the other two items, but it seems they were made for the rest of you. I would not say no to a brief rest -- I could identify the items for you and regain some of my spells."
As you identify the items you find that they are a suit of +1 Full Plate, a Cloak of the Manta Ray, and a Bag of Holding.
Rest
With the hulking Crab staying put near its nest, you return to the large wreck that you fought the crabs near. It is an easy matter to get in through one of the holes in the hull, and you find a deserted interior to rest in. Your rest is uneventful.
Moving Onward
When you exit the wreck an hour or so later, you find the hulking crab has dug itself back into its nest, a bit of its shell and eyes still visible. It makes no move to join you though.
Please give me a marching order again, as well as any rolls you wish to make as you move onward across the sandy expanse of the beach.
((Because I'm worried that I'll get a ton of "Manipulated Dice roll" flags if I try and roll too many die here... I am rolling Short Rest Hit Die in the game log. I am also writing the numbers I got here.))
((Short Rest Healing. My CON mod is +2 so I add that to every time I roll a hit die for healing: Recovery: 3+8+8+5 = 24. Io recovers 24 HP from spending 4 of his 5 hit die. ))
Once the items are Identified, Io would gesture to the Magical suit of full Plate armor and ask, "Companions, does any of you have any use for that set of armor? If none of you have a great need for it, I would like to take it for myself."
For Marching Order, regardless of whether or not he got the Plate+1, Io is still probably the most heavily armored of the group so he'd take the lead.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Xerronios smiles at Io. "I've no need of it, Io. For my part, it's yours. If no one objects, I'll take the Bag of Holding."
As they head out of the ship, the bard nods respectfully to the giant crab as he takes up position behind Io. He scans constantly, the area around them, the ground beneath and the sky above.

ooc: I also rolled a Hit Die in the character sheet.
"I can already breathe underwater, so the cloak should go to someone who cannot, though they will be faster than I will. I have chain main and the plate would be an upgrade, but you should take it. Perhaps I could refit the plate you are now wearing to fit me. And feel free to take the bag of holding. Perhaps I can store some things in it,"Windlass says. She's not normally prone to being so generous, but this group did save her from being shipwrecked, and followed her into a storm, so she feels it's fair.
She will travel in the middle of the group when moving forward.
Io responds to Windlass, "Perhaps that is something you can do. Maybe a tightening a strap here, loosening a strap there would make the armor fit."
Seeing as the rest was 1 hour long, I assume I had enough time to change out of his old Plate into the new magic Plate. He would do that. He will also give the old plate to Windlass.
You make your way across the beach, but do not come across any more of the crabs. You see some in the distance, but none seem to notice you.
From the beach to the summit a pathway wends its way around and around to the pinnacle. The path is between 10 and 15 feet wide, on occasion broadening into landings of varying sizes. Along its length are several caves.
You are approaching the first of the caves that near the path, when a couple figures step out and hail you. Both are male humans, wearing patched and badly worn sailor's garb.
"Well met travelers." One of them says to you, holding up empty hands to show he means you no harm. "Have you wrecked on the island then?"

Xerronios eyes the strangers carefully. All was not always what it seemed. He'd learned that on this voyage, if nothing else. He murmured "Lady of Fate, aid me in my vision," as he asked for guidance. As he felt the invocation take effect he examined the men, trying to ascertain their veracity.

ooc: Stupid system, and really a 6...meaning he rolled a 2? Anyway, the correct result is 8.
Kanlos keeps his distance from the strangers and waits for the others to handle the talking, trusting their judgement with seafarers more than his own at this point.
"Oh aye, there be some of us here that done washed up with them wrecks out there." The second of the sailors speaks up. "How did the lot of you get here then?" The first sailor asks, eyes moving from you down to the beach, then out to the storm that still swirls out all aorund the island. "Can't say we have seen any but those who have washed up with their wrecked ship before now..."
Xerronios you can't seem to get a read on these sailors. Maybe you are still too-upset over the fight with the crabs still, or just a bit confused by strange sensations you feel all over this island. Regardless of the reason, you can't get a sense of the sailor's motivations.

Windlass says, "take what you wish. I am happy to identify the other two items, but it seems they were made for the rest of you. I would not say no to a brief rest -- I could identify the items for you and regain some of my spells."
Io agrees, "I am a bit tired so a rest would be appreciated. Identifying the other two items would be a good idea."
Before Rest, Io would use a BA to Recover a 2nd level spell slot.
Xerronios nods in agreement as well.

Kanlos nods, "I can keep watch while you rest and figure out what those items are."

Kanlos HD: 4 and 10 rolled on page.
Kanlos gesures at the cloak, "That would be handy for myself, as I don't really know how to swim and would help me scout shorelines in the future."
Kanlos scouts a little ahead of the group.

Kanlos looks around at the shipwrecked sailors, "How many of you are there? And how have you survived here?"
