Name: Esmond Oceanreaper Race: Human v Class: Artificer Background: Guild Artisan Backstory: Esmond is a carpenter and artificer specialized in wood... which depending on the artificer makes him something akin to a Druidic necromancer by artificing standards. Not that he’s either. He just knows wood better than anyone around. He’s hoping this comes in handy in such an out of the way place. He’s come ready for whatever is needed. He’s hoping to have made enough of a name that he’ll have a plaque up in the town hall someday.
Name: Tyrina Thorngauge Race: Lightfoot Halfling Class: Cleric Background: Acolyte Backstory: Tyrina, or TT as she is known, is a cheerful, friendly halfling. She is polite and always has a kind word for her fellow people. At a young age she became fascinated with the passing from the land of the living to the land of the dead when her grandfather as he was dying with his last words spoke of seeing a vast field of the most beautiful flowers he had ever seen.
She began reading all she could of the accounts of people passing and what the afterlife might be. During her studies she learned of Kelemvor, god of the dead, and his teachings that death was a natural part of life and should not be feared as long as it was understood. She pledged her life's work to that idea, helping those that are crossing over both before and after it happens.
Name: Cobbler Heruj Race: Loxodon Class: Cleric (Life Domain) Background: Clan Crafter Backstory: Cobbler Heruj came to Rashamen when he was but a young short tusked lump of elephant blubber running lost through the Forgotten Realms. Confused and looking for his parents but finding only smaller two legged beings. His story is a long one, but the important fact is that Cobbler Heruj survived. Cobbler Heruj spent lots of time in Rashamen, and there were times both good and bad. Decades, centuries past and with every friend Cobbler Heruj made he had a scar to match it. He’s lived long enough to appreciate both of sides of life that give or take at whim. Despite it all, Rashamen is Cobbler Heruj’s home. It is here where he can make shoes for his neighbors, for his friends and for the city’s children in the many years after. He hopes to be the best cobbler he can be, as those in Rashamen deserve nothing less for granting him the kindness of giving him community. Cobbler Heruj loves that the people of Rashamen appreciate his shop, but Cobbler Heruj also knows his shop isn’t going to be what keeps the people of Rashamen safe. He’s heard word from his neighbors that they worry for the harvest, and that they might not be able to feed their children next season. They come into his shop with heavy brows as he fits them for the coming change of seasons, the mud of the roads sinking into their shoes. And his heart breaks for them. His bones are tired, and his body aches but his missing left eye twitches with purpose as Cobbler Heruj once more feels the call of his god: Silvanus the Oak Father . Not to serve Silvanus himself, but instead to protect Rashamen! And that’s a call that Cobbler Heruj will answer every time someone is needed to. So with a huff of effort and a proper goodbye to his beloved neighbors he’s now clad in his old armor once more and perhaps even closing his shop for a time. The old Loxodon has now set out with purpose and a belly full of sake ready to defend the blossoming new town that his people are depending on!
VISUAL:
Wears an eyepatch over his left eye bearing a deep scar from what looks like a slashing weapon. Under his armor he wears humble commoners clothing of soft hues of earthy red or brown. He’s about 7’8, and covered in scars due to his very old age. With Cobbler Heruj being about 388 years old, the average life span of a loxodon being that they can live to about 450 years. He has a very large belly that almost seems to serve as better armor then his old chain mail. Both ears pierced. He is mostly just an old man who likes to make shoes, but knows he can do more to help his home.
Name: Estre (female) Race: Vedalken Class: Wizard (aiming for divination) Background: Urban Bounty Hunter Backstory: As most Vedalken are, Estre is calm and rational. These traits really helped her with problem-solving of various kinds. As she grew up, she discovered her favourite type of puzzle is tracking criminals. Not because she had something against them, but mostly because they put up a good challenge, and there was nothing she wanted more than that. Thus, she would come to the city guard post and look at the wanted posters. Pick one that looks difficult to catch and track them down. What did she do with the reward though? She used the money she gained from capturing the criminals to pay for classes at a wizardry school. She would study magic at day and track down criminals at night. She would take short naps across the day to stay awake, and after she caught a criminal and got the reward she would sleep the night. It wasn't exactly the most healthy lifestyle. When she graduated from wizardry school, she already had a reputation for catching wanted people. Some who have been observing her realised that she doesn't really care who she tracks down, and so they offered her jobs to take down various people, not necessarily criminals, and Estre would take them as long as she thought they offer a good challenge and don't risk her sitting behind bars herself.
