"Geeez, everything is named after these guys, I think..." Garumehr says aloud, and turns back to the book to see if there's anything written about the local economy, or finding work in Anazarth.
(OOC: How thick is it? Is it a 1,000 page guidebook, or a few pages stapled together? Does it have a table of contents or index?)
It is about 400 pages, and it has both a table of contents and an index
Rolling out of the dragonborn's arms and onto the floor before jolting awake and standing up, Bryttin squints as she looks around the tavern. Confused, she looks at the two dragonborn, "I thought we were looking for an adventure...?" She then begins to look around for any figures that look like they might want to hire a group of adventurers.
Investigation: 14
(OOC: LMK if you need a different check)
You find Black-scaled Dragonborn offering jobs for adventurers. They want the group to help their uncle retrieve a priceless family heirloom.
Bryttin approaches the dragonborn... poking him with her cane, she is a bit stunned and mumbles, "Another dragon...? Goodness me!" Putting her cane down she looks up at him and asks, "What exactly is it that you want us to do?"
He anwsers: "Out in the swamp of Nyazruh, my uncle was poking around looking for rare insects (he is a renowned scholer), when he came across a strange ruins, emblazoned with the family crest. Now, there is an old family legend that a mystical sword was conferred upon our family from the gods, and he (my uncle) suspected that it was in there. He sent me to find adventurers to retreive it."
Overhearing the conversation over his mead, Jaikul chimes in, "That sounds like something this group could sink our teeth into. Though, meaning no offense, I would wonder if a sword that is the family heirloom of chromatic dragonborns is something that should be retrieved."
"Or to eat," Garumehr chimes in to Jaikul's comment, not understanding sinking teeth into something as being a figure of speech. "But in a pub in a strange land, it only makes sense that a bunch of strangers embarks on such a quest. They used to tell us stories about these things all the time. I hope there's a maiden who bestows it upon one of us, that would make one of us a king... oh my god, I got it! I GOT IT! I'm obviously kingfisher-like, this is a job meant for me--well, for us. I have no use for swords and things. Too slashy slash slash. Adventure! Yes! Let's do it. Is there a fancy map? Fetch a sword from fetid water, I can't wait."

Looks to Weldric, then to the black-scaled dragonborn. "Oh? So that is how things are here." He turns to the black dragonborn, "I must apologize to you, sir. I meant nothing by it. In other lands, things are...different."
"Yes, how far exactly would we need to travel in order to retrieve this sword of yours?" Bryttin asks before turning to Weldric, Jaikul, and Garumehr "Unless any of you needs to rest, I am ready for this as soon as we can. I've had the itch to explore for quite a while now."

“The mark of a successful DM is when you have caused more player deaths with doors than dragons, demons, or devils.”
Faustus suggests, "Those who have some funds might want to look into acquiring some insect repellent, seeing we're heading into a swamp."
He will turn to the black-scaled dragonborn, "You want us to succeed, right? What advice can you give us to augment our chances to return with your treasure?"

OOC: I’m not very familiar with Dragonborns..Do.Metallic and chromatic dragons have animosity towards each other?
(To be fair, idk about in this world, but traditionally, metallic dragons tend toward good alignment, while chromatic tend to be evil.)
OOC ...yes I know...that’s why I asked...My character (gold Dragonborn) may have a prob with quest given by a black Dragonborn...
Dragons are different from Dragonborn

"............anybody got any potatoes? We could drop a potato in each hole an' see which ones get viciously mauled by horrible monsters?"
-Ilyara Thundertale
(Actually, not in alignment according to th PHB, but, as I said, maybe it's different in this world.)
Not really, in this multiverse, all dragons have banded together.

Weldric approaches he Black Dragonborn. “I believe I would be interested in this job, brother. Where do we start?”

"I rested on the voyage here. Additionally, the food and mead have picked me up a bit. I could be ready to leave whenever," Jaikul replies.
Jerigg uses a talon to pick his teeth, and nods. "Ready when you are."
