Gibson sneers at Cyril and flicks a hand in his direction, firing a wave of energy at him. He grabs a handful of dirt from the cavern floor and smears it down the front of his clothes just before walking around the corner back into the room where Felix and Balin wait.
He smiles, hikes up his pants, and dusts himself off as he walks and starts speaking a little louder than necessary to cover up any noises from the corridor. "Are the floors in here always this slippery? You probably heard me take a dive out there on my way back. Downright hazardous working conditions, I tell you! I just hope word doesn't get back to the Oceanic Safety for Harborworkers Alliance. They'd shut this place down in a heartbeat with no handrails or non-slip surfaces! I should have a word with Sanbalet about that later. But for now, we've got more coin to vie for! Shall we?" And Gibson takes his seat, pours another cup of wine, and resumes play.
Arvastan uses the opportunity of Cyril's flailing about to jab his trident into the man's soft midsection while Gib shoots an Eldritch Blast, that pushes Cyril off of Arvastan's trident and the unfortunate pirate scout slumps to the floor of the cavern dead.
Back in the room where the smuggled goods are kept, Felix and Balin nod to Gibson and deal him into the next round of Gracchus. "As long as you ain't soiled yer keks, old timer." Felix growls, looking at the dirt on the tiefling's clothing. "I hate being underground. Give me the sea anyday. This place smells bad enough as it is between the corpses and Balin and his brothers' rancid farts."
Balin laughs, and as a response, lifts a leg off his chair, letting one off that indeed smells very, very bad.

The next few minutes go by uneventfully. Balin wins the next round of Gracchus, while the following game incredibly ends up in a tie between Felix and Gibson (go ahead and subtract 15 silver from your winnings, Gib). Finally, it is at this point that both Felix and Balin stand up.
"We ain't supposed to be down here sampling the merchandise, old timer. I gotta wake up my brothers so they can get the house ready for our little show tonight." He grins. "They're napping down the other tunnel passage. Can't stand to be that close to our cousin. D'ya notice how he always refers to himself as San-bal-ay? Bugger was always San-ballot until he figured out magic. Then all of a sudden, its 'I am Sanbalet, master of the dark arts."It is a surprisingly accurate impersonation of the dwarven wizard, which Felix appreciates, laughing heartily.
"Aye, and I gotta check with the master of the dark arts hisself about the tides for the night the Ghost is coming in. I hope that tiefling blood is as fortified as you claim, Gib. Come on up with me, and I'll make sure you meet the rest of the boys."
As she hears the group beginning to move in the chamber ahead, she whispers to the others, "I think Gibson has learned all he will from this charade. I fear we will have to deal with these two pirates quickly. I think in the room they're in now would be best to prevent noise from traveling."
Gibson snorts derisively and does his best not to spit out his wine at the dwarf's impersonation.
"Why don't you go on ahead, Phylis? I met the gents upstairs before I came down. I should probably go introduce myself the rest of the crew down below. As fortified as I am, there's only so many times a body can manage these stairs." He chuckles. "Gotta do my stretches and whatnot before the heavy lifting starts. Wouldn't want to pull a hammy! Fallon, I'm simply awful with names. You lot are the only ones I've gotten this quickly in ages! Why don't you finish your drink while I stretch and you can tell me about everyone I'll meet before we get there? That way I can work out some sort of mnemonic device so I don't embarrass myself? I really appreciate the help, friend!"
Gibson immediately begins doing side bends and toe touches.

The two scouts see the group come rushing in and they both jump backwards, fumbling for their shortswords.
Felix looks at Gib cock-eyed as he does his calisthenics while the rest of the group bursts in. You all can see the realization dawn on his face. "You! Oh, I am gonna gut you good, old timer."
Gibson lets out a shrill "Eek!" and dives behind the table, firing off a blast right at Felix's mouth. If he's able to up-end the table for cover, he does.

Hugh gives a smile. “Surprise!” he growls. Hugh then rushes towards Felix, bringing his axe downwards in a brutal swing.

not sure why this is manipulated. I don’t think I edited the post at all, so who knows what happened. Original rolls was (Attack: 22 Damage: 6) Doesn’t matter to me which one you prefer to take.
(Post didn't show up as edited --it happens! I saw the 22/6 roll originally so I'll take that one.)
High's grim smile and heavy axe swing catches the big human across the chest, ripping through his leather armor and causing a large streak of crimson to appears across Felix's chest and abdomen. He opens his mouth to say something, but he takes the full brunt of Gibson's Eldritch Blast in his face. His neck snaps backwards and you see this jaw doesn't quite look right anymore from the impact of the force energy.
(Felix is still alive, but he's not looking so pretty, and Balin is untouched -- Arvastan's turn is next, then the bad guys!)
Through the haze of his blood and rage, Felix is somehow incredibly able to swipe his shortsword in the direction of Arvastan's trident and able to parry it, causing the sea elf to miss.
Cursing and furious now, Felix turns to Hugh, is the only one close enough for him to hit without taking another potential blow. "Get the tiefling. I want to see his guts on the floor before I die." Felix growls as he swings wildly at the barbarian with his short sword.
Attack 1: 9 Damage: 6
Attack: 6 Damage: 8
Balin for his part draws a light hammer and advances on Gib, chuckling menacingly. He takes two swipes at Gibson.
Attack: 22 Damage: 4
Attack: 7 Damage: 4
Felix's injuries clearly have taken their toll and Hugh is able to bat his feeble swings with the short sword away easily, like a kitten playing with a mouse.
Balin, on the other hand, is a little more successful. His hammer strikes Gib right in the nose sending the tiefling reeling, but somehow, Gibson is able to get his staff between himself and the dwarf before Balin's second blow could hit him in the skull.

Tul quickly takes in the situation and sees that Arvastan and Hugh have the one pirate (Felix) already at their mercy. But Gibson, while managing not to be pounded by one of two blows from the hammer the other pirate (Balin) is carrying is not likely to be as lucky the next time.
She quickly moves to help Gib, swing her nunchuka into the side of Balin, before pivoting and swinging her leg around quickly to catch the dwarf in the nose with her foot.
Balin laughs lustily as he prepares his hammer for another strike at Gib, and is totally blindsided by Tul's nunchuka attack. The weapon strikes the dwarf right in the side of the jaw and his head jerks back as he spits out a fine mist of blood and teeth. He turns towards the half-orc, just to catch her foot full on in the face.
"OW! You broke my noth!" Balin cups his nose in hands, looking at Tul with hatred.

Seeing that the others have Felix on the ropes, Dimma moves in alongside Tul to get Gib out of harms way. She raises her warhammer high above her head and tries to bring it down over the dwarf's; the hammer leaves a soft streak of light in its trail as she follows through on the swing.
Attack: 18 Damage: 9
As the warhammer connects, Dimma mutters a dwarven incantation. The head of the warhammer flares white-hot, leaving a smoldering mark on Balin as she casts Searing Smite. As the hammer pulls away, white-hot flames engulf the dwarf, dealing another 5 Fire damage.
Dimma's hammer thunders down upon Balin and as she mutters her holy incantation, the heat off of the hammer sizzles and sparks, engulfing Balin in flames and practically burning the dwarf's beard off.
He pats urgently at the fire, but as it burns, he slows down, patting with less and less intensity until he sinks to his knees and finally keels over, landing flat on his face.
Felix, already weakened by the multiple blows he had took, perhaps sees the writing on the wall and says "Hey....erm... let's not be too hasty here. Maybe we can come to some sort of arrangement?"
(Top of the order, y'all are up -- That's Arvastan, Hugh, and Gibson.)
