He indicates to the others that he hears something behind the door, and opens it slowly.
Thick, time-eaten drapes of pua kumba cloth hang from the ceiling of this room stained red with bark dye , obscuring everything beyond them. The rythmic sounds issue from somewhere beyond them.
Khutulun will sneak in silently and try to peek past the pua kumba cloth to see what is making the noise.

Khutulun is about to carefully part the cloth to peer through when she notes tiny silvery hairs threaded into the cloth, she recognises them as being from the gympie-gympie tree and would cause extreme long-lasting pain if touched with bare skin.
Using her quarterstaff she is able to safely part it, beyond it is another similar set of cloths, beyond it there is no light but the rhythmic percussive sounds seem to her ears to be the sounds of bone on bone.
Khutulun looks back at the others and whispers "Do not touch the cloth. It has been breaded with threads from the gympie-gympie tree and will poison your skin. I can't see it but up ahead the noise, its sounds like bones being struck together..."

With Khutulun carefully leading them through the companions eventually pass through three sets of hanging cloths, Beyond the veil of the fabric, three man-sized skeletons jerk and rattle in a perpetual dance.
Their bones are corded together with leather straps and carved with Sanskriti script.
The skeletons strike each other to sound the percussive notes, circling a stretch of stone floor that has been visibly worn down in the round pattern of their steps.
Though their approach has been utterly silent the dead seem to somehow notice the intrusion of the living, they stop dancing and two of them move apart from each other opening a space in the dance circle. One of them holds out a bony hand toward the companions....

( Try as she may, Khutulun is unable to recall anything relevant.....other than its likely some sort of ritual dance practiced by the Garunums ancestors. )
Mal shakes his head. "There are old bedtime stories of spells that could make people dance until they died, but I've never heard of dancing beyond death. I don't think we should dance with them either."
Mal looks around the room for anything special about the area they're dancing around, or anything else of interest in the room.

The only thing of note is the smooth polished circle of stone worn by the dancers bony feet.
The offered hand withdraws, the skulls turn towards the companions, green flames dance in the eye-sockets and they leap to attack.
Mal will sneak up to the first door on the left, and listen for anything within.

Mal accidentally kicks a small piece of stone along the corridor but there doesn't seem to be anything around to hear it.
As he listens at the door he hears within a rhythmic musical beat of clacking, thumping, and hollow percussion.
He indicates to the others that he hears something behind the door, and opens it slowly.
Krikoris stays in the hall, unlit torch in hand, ready to light it if needed.
Uce will be at the ready in case something attacks.
