"So what now, po? We've seen a few things, but I think we're missing the big reason of what's down here. I'm not too smart on these things, but did we miss something important?" Mal finishes tying poultices and wraps around the wounds he took and looks around at the others.
Krikoris shrugs, "I have no idea. I've been here, what, a week now? I'm still not entirely sure what this place is, or was, or whatever and why its so important?"

While the group rests, Mal fishes a scroll out of his back pocket that was making it uncomfortable to sit, and unrolls it to see if it says anything of interest.

Most of the scrolls Mal glimpsed in the tossed library were religious manuals written in the ancient Sanskriti script though a few were Lokossan handbooks of regarding the dead.
The particular scroll Mal currently reads is Lokossan and indicates that a dukun or other magically gifted individual can perform certain sacrifices and detailed rituals in order to greatly increase their power over a short amount of time. The rites require 500 silver pieces worth of ingredients and involve the ritual sacrifice of an intelligent living being. It is likely he could find a buyer willing to pay quite a bit for this scroll.
As Mal shifts another notebook falls from his pocket, this ancient Sanskriti book has a Lokossan note in fresh ink inscribed on the inside front cover, listing a number of volumes that have been taken from the collection and a note to check them for the necessary incantations to use the serpentine kapala.
Mal looks up from his reading at Uce's singing. "That's nice, po. I like the tune. I think I found some instructions for how to use that kapala - at least, a list of books to read to show us how to use it. And this scroll is probably valuable, but I don't know that I'd want to sell it to just anyone. Maybe your mistress will be interested?" Mal asks Khutulun.
"That she could be... I am sure she would be willing to pay for it and at a good price."
"So what where they trying to do down here... bring something back, raise something from the dead? I wonder who took the scrolls listed and if they thought they would be returned or where trying to take them back?"

Khutulun is certain that she has seen the hand writing that the Lokassan note is in before......not often but perhaps on correspondence to Kiwas father?
Looking over the handwriting "This, i think this is familiar, I recognize this hand writing from somewhere. They have written to Kiwa or her father before... we need to go back and check."
"Have we searched this whole compound thoroughly? I don't know that I have much left in me, but I hate to think of all the valuable- all of the important information we might miss if we leave now. I got hit on the head pretty hard, though - what did that priest want us to do again?"
