A small group of ragged looking Lokanan ushered them aboard, the oldest came over to Uce, " Can you handle getting this lot clear enough they won't fall overboard. We don't need much from them except hauling nets and moving when and where they're told."
As everyone got stowed away and readied themselves Uce set about trying to turn the local new crew and his compnions into something resembling semi-competent sailors.
The Lokanan woman who had spoken earlier was Hani and she seemed to be acting captain while the actual captain was ' indisposed', the old Lokanan man was Wara and he seemed mostly bemused by all the new faces.
They cast off from the dock and let the current and a light cross breeze carry them down the coast, the water was not deep here and white sand was clearly visible some 10m below on the bottom as the djungs shadow moved across it. The Lokanan crew began preparing the nets as the boat came around a spit of sand, on the other side was a gutter of deeper water and mangroves began to crowd the shore replacing the palms and elephant grass.
There was a sudden loud bang and a semi-dressed Merubat man in a very badly stained sarong stumbled out onto the deck through a suddenly open wooden door. He wiped his face with the back of his hand then rubbed his fingers through his long greasy tangled grey-black hair.
" Right! Bring up the chickens!", he slurred, leaning against the mast unsteadily.
The old Lokanan man lifted up a half dozen caged chickens from the hold and walked towards the edge of the boat....
Captain Jungal levered himself off the mast and tottered towards the edge of the deck, he drew his kampilan and banged it on the side of the boat. Uce shivered a little at the sound as it reverberated through the boat, there were definitely rotten planks on this boat.....
Wara handed a chicken to one of the ragged Lokanan crew to bring up to the Captain, the man tottered up still not competent on his sea legs and handed the bird to the captain who raised it and then flung it out over the water.
There was a sudden rush of movement as a massive section of what they had presumed was white sandy bottom detached and launched itself out of the water, smashed the fluttering bird between two immense jaws and then everyone on deck was soaked as three tonnes of saurian re-entered the water.
The djung rocked alarmingly as the reptile moved under it brushing the keel with its back as it did so.
" Looks like Grandfather Putih is hungry today, throw the rest over and he will bless us with good fishing."
Krikoris looks at the relatively small lizard, thinking of the great dragons of his homeland, and laughs at the others' reactions, "Believe me, that is not big."

Captain Jungal chuckled, " Because he is happy at the moment......lets keep him that way."
The rest of the chickens were thrown overboard and each time the large reptile repeated the same movements, scraping the bottom of the djung.
After the last Captain Jungal stared at the water intently, " Its not dancing......the waters supposed to dance...."
Hani and Wara stepped back towards the centre of the deck and exchanged a glance.
Captain Jungal took a swig from a gourd at his waist and with cold eyes looked over the crew and the companions, " Gotta keep him happy....."
Krikoris moves over to the Captain and lays a firm hand on his shoulder, "You should think carefully before your next words." Snapping his fingers he creates a faint scent of burnt flesh (prestidigitation).

Jungal grinned a drunken grin and turned toward Krikoris, " Not your mob then...fair enough."
Mal steps aboard, a little unsure, but with a big grin on his face. "We're sailors now!"

Uce nods. "I could do that." He'll proceed to directing Lokanan to haul nets and make sure they don't fall overboard.

Krikoris looks to the others, whispering quietly, "What exactly are we fishing for again?"
"A big white alligator, po - but let's see what happens." Mal whispers as he tries to untangle a knotted net.
Krikoris shakes his head, "That's what we're hunting for, what are the fishermen fishing for?"
Uce shakes his head. "My papa told me story about a man obsessed with hunting a white aligator. Or was it a whale. Either way, it didn't end good."

Khutulun watches with wide eyes as the beast sinks beneath the waves.
"Is that it... or is it even bigger?"

Mal keeps his shortsword ready, nonetheless.
"Friends of yours, Mal?" whispers Cinta whilst motioning to the sailors.

Krikoris maintains his grip, "They're all my mob, except perhaps for yourself. Anything you'd like to volunteer?"
Khutulun watches on looking relaxed but spacing her feet just incase she needed to be ready to react in a hurry.

The Captain laughed, " Well, if we're gonna make him grumpy then I' need to be drunker than this....lot of folks are gonna die."
" Unless your thinking of tipping me over? Not sure he likes pickled food."
Uce is going to hold onto his greatsword and tap on its hilt in case he needs to draw it.
