Feeling confident the party is at a dead end and that their backs are secure, Mal speaks up. "If there's any place to take a rest, this is probably it. Unless...do you think those bug burrows lead somewhere new?" 

Gajesh hisses at the object that harmed Rushdi, his tail flicking as he looks ready to lob the flame in his hand at the thing. "Resting should be done quickly then. The air in this place smells of the dead..."

"Good, let us rest then."

Khutulun looks over at the holes on the walls that the bugs came from. "Maybe we can plug them in some way or even poor oil down them incase we need to light it on fire if they come back?"

Mal nods. "That's a good idea, po. I have some oil here." Mal unstoppers his flask of oil and pours it down each of the bug holes.

Krikoris shrugs and decides to go quietly take a look back the way they came to ensure no one is following.

Krikoris is quite confident that there is no one moving in the corridors or rooms nearby.

Rushdi tries to recover. Fortunately he had an enhanced fortitude (temp hp) and so his wounds are not as bad as they first appeared, although he is blind. 1 hd 5 

He also meditates and cleanses his mind of the static that interferes with ones ability to channel magic (arcane recovery to regain a 2nd level slot)

Gajesh hisses at the repeated attempts to mess about with the book, moving to take it from Rushdi once he is going about blinded yet again. "Books truly are dangerous.... Shaman was right to say history should be kept by voice..."

Krikoris looks around at the group, "Fair to say the book is cursed, but cursed for everyone to read, or just local priests? Anyway, I say just pack it away for now and try to clear the curse later on."

Rushdi just sighs and keeps his trap shut, lest he reveal greater ignorance

Khutulan eat a small snack of rice, unwrapping it from bamboo leaves. Sipping her water, she sighs. "I am ready to continue, it would be good to see the end of this place before it sees the end of us."

"OK, po. Did we explore everything on this level? Was there anything unexplored upstairs where you were originally, Rushdi?" Mal is deciding whether or not to leave his lantern now that he poured all the oil out.
