Gorm notes how easily this flying snake seems to kill the creatures and reminds herself to not get on the wrong side of Shadow. Before she can think much more upon that, though, she's brought back to her own situation and awkwardly sidesteps the beast lunging at her. Still, she uses the momentum from the sidestep to slice her shortsword through the air in an upward arc at the creature and following that up with a left jab to its ribcage.
Moskov's chant is interrupted for a moment as he is assaulted. Recovering his momentum, he makes a gesture at the monstrosity attacking him, and a blast of freezing wind filled with swirling snow and sharp hail strikes the creature. At the same time, the wind racing around him roars into a tempest and blows the creature off of him. The same wind lifts him up and sets him down not so gracefully 10 feet away. The wind then settles down a bit as he moves 20 feet away to put the bulk of the party between him and the beasts.

With expertise Gorm slices the creature across its side, following it up with a quick jab to the same area. It hisses in pain as it rights itself to face her. As Moskov lands to saftey, he sees the creature is still standing, but now has half it's body covored in ice. A monster goes to strike at Corwin. Attack: 22 Damage: 5 ((Come on, man...)) The wolf tackles the monster in the gut, negating the attack before it could happen.
Still in wolf form and buoyed by the success of his fellow travelers, Corwin darts toward one of the monsters, looking for one already occupied with one of the others. He snarls as his jaws snap at the creature, looking to draw blood and even the score. He also tries to drag the creature to the ground.
OOC: If Corwin can attack a creature that is within 5 feet of an ally, he gets advantage through Pack Tactics. If he hits, the monster is knocked prone.

After Gorm's successful assault, a blur of grey fur rushes by as the dire wold chomps down on the creature's head. It thrashes for a bit before going limp. The creature Cifray zapped goes in for the assault on her. Attack: 16 Damage: 5 The monster rakes its mangled claws across her torso, and she feels a strange sensation come from the wound.
Three creatures remain. One iced, one next to Cifray, and the last who has not yet engaged.
Cifray ducks to the side as another monster sneaks up behind her, her patron whispering words of warning into her mind. But it is relentless, pushing towards her and slashing into her soft flesh. As she moves she swings with her now enchanted staff and swipes at the abomination's horrific face (Quarterstaff with Shillelagh Attack: 5 Damage: 8). Desperate to escape the onslaught a sparkling gold cloud forms around her and she suddenly disapparates, reappearing behind her new companions (Misty Step)
The creature bats away Cifray's attack with ease. It goes for another swing before she teleports away, then stops. There is a few seconds of tense quiet as the party's eyes dart around the three remaining monsters. Then, in an odd gurgling tongue that only Moskov can understand, the one who steered clear from the fight says, "Enough! Back to the thicket!" At that, it turns around and jumps into the trees. The other two pivot on their heels and dash back into the woods.
The wolf stands near Gorm, looking almost ready to spring forward and give chase. It growls once and snaps its jaws in their general direction. Then it looks up at her and quickly turns its head to see that everyone is still there and pretty much intact. And then, the air around the bloodied beast shimmers slightly, and Corwin is there on his hands and knees, looking surprisingly unscathed, all his clothing and gear intact. He uses his forepaws, er, hands, to push himself up to standing.
"I stumbled upon them," he says quietly. "I believe they were planning to ambush the group."
He shudders slightly looking down at one of the fallen creatures. "What are these things anyway?"
”Impressive “ she says holding out her hand towards Cazoon. The snake flies down, landing in her outstretched hand and coils his tail around her wrist.
”Good work my friend” she tells him and scratches him on his head with a claw.

As his head clears, Corwin looks to the snake sitting atop Shadow's hand. "Thank you very much," he says to the snake, hesitating a moment before adding "My friend"
"Quite the group we have here," Gorm says with a smirk. "Good to see what everyone can do, I guess..."
Gorm straightens her gear, adjusts the straps for her longsword, then bends over to examine one of the bodies of the attackers. She tries to think if she's ever heard of anything quite like these creatures, what with their ability to talk and all. (( Investigation? Nature? Both are the same modifier - 14 )) She's also poke at them to see if they have any kind of gear or such but they don't really seem to have pockets, at first look, so she's not counting on that.
After looking over the corpses Gorm will respond to Shadow. "Best to move before rest, I think. Just in case they return with friends. No need to wait right where they left us..."
Corwin nods. "Yes, we should move away from here," he says. "Some of them were hiding in the tall grass. There could be more. Let us see if we can find a safer spot."
“Sounds good my friend” Shadow says to Corwin and claps his shoulder with her paw. “And if you can spare some time during our travel I am interested in knowing how it feels when you become a best. Do your senses change?”
As Shadow starts talking to Corwin she will lead the part onward.

Gorm finds no article of clothing on the bodies. She scratches her head to try and think of where this creature may have come from, but draws a blank. She's seen monstrosities in her travels, but this is new.
Assuming that the group is continuing on, I need a survival check from the resident ranger and druid again.
Shadow looks more relaxed and chatty the longer they are in the forest. If Corwin allows her, she will ask him excessive amounts of questions about his transformation.
Since the fight Cazoon seems more friendly towards the party. He will fly around and if anyone invites him he will land on their hand or shoulder for a while before flying off.

Although initially afraid that the monsters will return, Cifray eventually relaxes enough to let out her deeply held breath. Seeing that she is not badly hurt but noting the blood and bruises on Corwin as they move out she walks until she can come alongside him and offer help. "I can help patch you up a bit." she says, "We need you back to full strength if they do return. I'm not a great fighter and you might need to use that form again."

OOC: Actually Corwin doesn't have any damage because he was at full HP when he transformed into the wolf. So Cifray can do that heal on someone else who got hurt. But thanks! And on another note, I am utterly terrified of this upcoming Survival roll!
Corwin walks with the others, feeling a bit of kinship with them after the battle, a feeling that is rather foreign to him but rather satisfying. He answers Shadow's questions as best he can, once again seeming to be far more comfortable in the wilderness than he was in the city.
"When I take the shape of a beast, it is … exhilarating," he says. "I have the wolf's keen ears, the bear's nose. I can run fast as a deer. And somehow I am still me. With prayer and practice, one day I will fly." He speaks with reverence, not boasting about his abilities.
As they move out, he thanks Cifray for her concern, but upon closer inspection she can see that while his hides are little dirty and scuffed up, Corwin himself is unscathed. He nods at her suggestion and says, "I will need to rest at least for a short while before I can draw on the wild's energy once more."
He tries to keep his senses open and attuned to the wilderness, not wanting to again wander off into trouble.
