Erevan, you’ve made it to the big tent at 5 PM. Yondalla’s luck is winding down; it appears that those who wanted to have a go have had their chance by now. People are lined up for a supper of potatoes, salad greens, and meatballs. There’s a band playing on the stage, too, a group of gnomes apparently down from the mountains, blowing on overlarge horns and drums while a singer intermittently does some yodeling.
Petunia finds you promptly and gives her report. “I’ve scanned the west half of the Faire, no luck. I was going to work on the east half next. This is the easiest money I’ve made in awhile. You sure your target is here?”
"Well," Erevan replies to Petunia, "I had it on very good information that she was going to be here. Let's keep at it a bit longer if we can. Seems like most folks here likely will grab some dinner, so perhaps we can give a reading on several people you may have missed so far. Perhaps we should eat something ourselves while we work, eh?"
He starts heading over to where the food is being served. "And on another note, what do you know about this fair and it's history? Ever heard of mischief from the gnome god Urdlen associated with it?"
Erevan checks out the deal for food and offers to buy Petunia's meal as well. "Keep up the good work," he says, motioning with his head at all the folks gathered around to eat.
Petunia gets some food and carries it around with her as she moves among the groups of people in the big tent. In less than ten minutes, though, she's returned to you.
"I got a hit," she says softly to you. "That little kid over there was telling his mum about the skipping stone contest by the pond, and he mentioned a halfling who was napping there, I saw the image in the kid's head, she matches your description."
Erevan nods. "Excellent." He sits back quietly for a moment, once again reaching out to his sprite familiar via their telepathic link. Fez, in your travels around the fair today, I assume you've seen the skipping stone contest by the pond. See if there's a napping halfling lass who looks like the one we seek.
He takes a few bites of food, looking around idly for a minute or two, then reestablishes the telepathic link to look through the sprite's eyes.
Erevan glances over at Petunia. "My wee flying friend has spotted a lead. Seems she may still be over by the pond," he says. "Perhaps we should go for a stroll over that way." He takes a few bites of food then rises to leave, headed for the pond and their quarry. It's been some time since he's heard from Olwer, and he realizes that they probably should have made some arrangement for communication as Erevan can't see his comrade. He hopes that things will not get too tricky if it comes time to apprehend their quarry.
Erevan (presumably with Petunia along for the walk) heads toward the pond, trying to look as if the two of them are just out for a stroll. He instructs Fez to remain close to the woman, staying invisible with his bow at the ready. As he enters the area, he pauses a good distance from the woman and looks around for signs of anything unusual. Then, looking through Fez's eyes, he tries to see what sort of weapons or anything unusual the sleeping halfling may have on her.
If Elsie has weapons, they are likely small and well hidden. She looks like all the other halflings here, with the exception of her lighter complexion.
"I've had my eye on her for some time. She could waken any moment. If you want to take her here and now, we'd better be quick about it. Bystanders might misunderstand and interfere. If you want to risk that, what say you try your freeze 'em stiff trick and I yank a sack over her head, tie her up behind that tree for good measure? Or some other way? I'll follow your lead."
Olwer will defer to Erevan's decision.
If the warlock says 'go,' Olwer will position himself behind Elsie with a sack (or otherwise do as the warlock suggests).
Erevan jumps a little when Olwer starts whispering to him but then breaths a sigh of relief realizing that his fellow bounty hunter is right here. It looks like they may be able to capture their quarry after all.
"Excellent suggestion," Erevan replies. "I will give you a moment to get closer and then look to lock her down. Fez is ready to fire on her if need be, too."
With that he waits, giving Olwer time to get in position. After a minute or so, he gets about thirty feet away from the sleeping halfling. He quietly intones a few words in an ancient form of sylvan, the tongue of the archfey masters he met in the deep woods long ago. He raises one hand, extending it before him, and then closes his fist tight, as if with his magic he can hold the halfling motionless in his clenched hand.

Petunia laughs and says,
"Don't all the gods cause some mischief or other? What can we do about it anyway?"
You don't think she took your question seriously.

He takes a few bites of food, looking around idly for a minute or two, then reestablishes the telepathic link to look through the sprite's eyes.
As Fez zooms over to the pond, he is able to spot the halfling under the shady tree, who had been disturbed by Olwer but has now settled back down.
Erevan glances over at Petunia. "My wee flying friend has spotted a lead. Seems she may still be over by the pond," he says. "Perhaps we should go for a stroll over that way." OOC: Did we get a short rest when we had cider and whatnot after the fight with the pig thieves? Just considering options for pursuing our quarry.
OOC; I assume Olwer has been lurking unseen (so far she he knows, anyway).
Yes, count a short rest if needed.
Olwer, until you say differently, I had imagined you were sitting not far from Elsie, still invisible, just watching her.
No, that's it exactly. Just checking in.
:)

Elsie's wisdom save at disadvantage because she's snoozing: 6
She jerks awake, but she is paralyzed in your magical grasp. We should probably roll initiative, just in case.
Elsie's initiative: 21
Olwer initiative
23
Sack goes over head of paralyzed target.
