(Apologies on the delay in posting - the past week has been difficult for me.)
"My preference on guides is only one that would be the most efficient for our own expedition. For that reason, I'm inclined to pay for Hew or Salida, but I defer to what the group has decided. Azaka seems like a sufficient guide for me," Irzhalin replies. He's curious as to the nature of these expeditions - if the jungles were so dangerous that the Order needed to get involved, why were guides willing to risk their lives so willingly in these jungles? He'd certainly inquire the reasons to whichever guide they land on.
Undril moves to the bulletin board, and removes Azaka's flier from it. "Azaka Stormfang it is." she says with a smile. "I'll take care of the arrangements for you. Meanwhile, rent a room for the night, explore the Port, and enjoy yourselves. If you plan to go to the market, spend your coin wisely. For the trip to Camp Vengeance, we'll need a canoe; and they can cost around fifty gold." Undril packs the flier into her bags and heads toward the exit of the inn.
"I'll be back as soon as I can. Did you have any questions before I leave?"
Undril makes her departure from Kaya's House of Repose to make the arrangements of hiring Azaka Stormfang as a guide. What does the party want to do for the rest of the day?
Hrothgar will try to find a shop where they sell some parchment and ink. So he can try and keep record of the map as they travel for the Order or the people of Chult.
He will ask some people where to get a good price for it. He would also like to know more about Firefinger and the pterafolk so he can be prepared for Azaka guiding them.
Hrothgar will be able to find plenty of vendors in the Market. The prices for these items will be standard prices from the PHB. Any weapons or armor will be %15 more expensive.
If anyone wants to buy stuff, go ahead and do so now. You won't be able to find any magic items for sale, unfortunately.
As for gathering information, Hrothgar is told by one of the vendors "If you head up the Tiryki River about five days by canoe, you’ll see a stone spire to the east. Natives call it Firefinger. 'Terror folk' nest there, and if they spot you, you’re in for a fight."
Hrothgar will make his way to the market taking some time to look around.
Finding a vendor with some paper and ink Hrothgar will buy some from him, placing a hefty sum for it. While exchanging the counts Hrothgar will chat with the person. Someone selling items such as this must know a bit about the tales of the land. What can you tell me about Firefinger and the pterafolk?

He listens to the vendors responds Thank you for the information. and departs to find the others in the market
Buying: - Ink (1 ounce bottle) : 10gp - Ink pen: 0.02 gp - Parchment (5 sheets) 0.1gp each = 10.52 gp
He will look for a place to buy the canoe as well.
Irzhalin quietly takes in anything and everything before looking to stock up on basic adventuring supplies. Upon greeting Azaka, he will ask her what she recommends the party purchases aside from the materials they haven't purchased already.
He additionally chips in with the purchasing of the canoe. It will likely be necessary in the future. Irzhalin carries light clothing and no armor due to being a Monk, which is why he is uninterested in any armament for sale. He will, however, by another two week's worth of rations, an additional canteen of water or two, along with packs of basic survival equipment that might be needed in the jungle.
The Chevall's spent the remainder of the day traversing through the Market Ward to buy their supplies. They also move up to the Harbor Ward and will buy a canoe so they can travel by water on their expedition.
OOC: Go ahead and deduct the currency from your character sheets if you have not do so already.
They return to Kaya's House of Repose to spend the remainder of the day there. By nightfall, Undril returns to the inn and regroups with the Chevall's. "Azaka's been hired. She'll meet us here tomorrow morning. Of course, she'll be expecting the payment of thirty gold pieces up front before we depart. I was also advised we'd need a rain catcher on our journey through the jungle, due to the humidity, we'll be parched. Having this device to help with collecting water will be essential - so I went and bought one." Undril concludes and will wait to see if anyone has any questions before she turns in for the night.
OOC: The rain catcher has been added to Undril's character sheet.
Undril turns in for the evening, and the rest of the day is uneventful. They all take a long rest and wake up the next morning. Breakfast is served, and Undril is already awaiting the Chevall's. "Good morning." Undril calls out, as she's seated at the table with the woman from the flier, Azaka Stormfang. She seems to not to be wearing much clothing, and she's even bare-footed. Simple layers of clothing to accommodate the climate of Chult; no armor. She has a flowing mane of hair and sun-kissed skin. Once all four men make their arrival, Azaka stands up to greet them.
"Hello, I am Azaka Stormfang. I'll be your guide for your expedition into the jungle. Undril has informed me that you wish to visit Camp Vengeance, yes? That should be no problem, especially if we are to travel by canoe. Also, I do have my own rain catcher, and Undril says she has one as well. Dehydration is inevitable in the jungle; a person will have to drink at least two gallons of water a day to survive. Each rain catcher can hold up to 8 gallons if the rain blesses us, so I believe we'll be set. I'd advise not drinking from the river; unless the water gets boiled before consumption. I'll also need the payment up front before we depart."
Given the heat and humidity of Chult, Irzhalin is glad to be similarly fitted to their guide. He calmly greets Azaka, glad to be on similar footing - it's clear Azaka was well versed in hunting and thriving in the wild. "Greetings. I am Irzhalin. You are correct - Camp Vengeance is our primary destination, but I would not mind stopping along the way to investigate areas of interest you might be keen on visiting. I am familiar with surviving in the wild, but I am afraid this terrain is foreign to me. Therefore, I defer my decisions to you - is there any knowledge or equipment we must arm ourselves with to survive the jungle?"
"Having bountiful food and water is always a must. I prefer to forage for my food in the jungle; you all don't seem to be the hunting-type. Armor tends to slow you down, but the undead menace has been wrecking havoc in the jungle as of late so I understand why the Order of the Gauntlet is here so being armed to the teeth will be expected - even though none of you seem to be lacking in that department."
Irzhalin swallows a retort that came to his mind when Azaka doubted his capabilities of surviving in the wild. but he stops himself - she was their guide, and there was no use starting the venture off on bad terms. ”I agree - armor has only slowed me down,” he calmly says, seemingly offended at Azaka’s assumption of combat tactics Irzhalin would use. He carries no weapons, nor does he wear any armor. “But one thing you said did interest me. Could you tell us more about the undead menace you mentioned? It may be relevant to our business here. Of course, if it isn’t too dangerous for you,” he coolly adds, a hint of vanity leaking through.
"Undead creatures have emerged seemingly out of thin air, and now run rampant throughout the entire jungle. There've been rumors for many years of necromancer-stuff residing deep in the jungle. Since this so called 'Death Curse' has emerged, that sparked a war - perhaps war isn't the right word. More like a conquest. I know that's why the Order of the Gauntlet is here. You're actually the first of 'em I've met."
Hrothgar listens to Irzhalin and Azaka before adding his own words.
I am Hrothgar, and yes i bear armor. It might cause a problem navigating through the jungle but will aid in fighting the undead.
He pauzes a moment. You say the undead are now rampant throughout the jungle. Can we expect a truce with some tribes while we have a common enemy? Perhaps a combined effort will quicken the demise of these necromancers.
"Honestly, I'm not sure. Typically, the batiri, grungs, and lizards just attack on sight. They're not accustomed to diplomacy. We can certainly try, if that's what you wish."

Aer will throw his portion in for the canoe. He will also purchase an additional 10 days rations....
