“I think,” Jimmy butts in “that my friend is trying to say he saw a detonator in the halfling’s possession. Saw it activated just as the bomb went off. That’s more than a smoking gun.”

Maker responds calmly "I saw nothing of what caused the actual explosion. However, by the time I was able to recover and respond to the situation it was clear that my associates' were engaged in an altercation with said individuals. Any logical being in my position would have similarly concluded upon a course of action which involved defending the group and our ward from those engaging in violence with us."

(Keep this in mind, btw: you kinda did just start shooting at the bank people after Lysandra tried to kill them. You can say whatever you like, of course, but the original aggressors were not Killagob and Vinter.)

Helio-Horus nods.

"We did find a certain... device in Flopwig's possession, that could be the detonator you speak of. It was completely fried, though."

He leans back in his chair.

"Alright, then. How did you all meet Gogglefogger?"

(feel free to make up whatever if you haven't  completely determined this yet)

Maker volunteers first, "I met the Professor because I sought him out. His own work in creating magic inside the non-magical mirrors my own nascent studies into the processes by which magical non-organic life, such as myself is created. I had only arrived to discuss an apprenticeship with him a few days ago however, and for the time being was hired into this position until such a relationship could be further discussed."

Jimmy kicks his feet up. “Oh it was a long time ago. He came upon me shanghai-ed in a dead magic zone and tugged my boat outta there. In that midst, pirates thought they’d take a two for one deal and got a nice look at the bottom of my boot and the end of my scatter gun. It was a twist of fate that we both got lucky, as he’s not exactly fighting’ material. So we’ve kept in touch for a couple years now. Then he sends a message that he needs help, and it’s clear he means protection.” 

"My master told me that a child will show me the way to enlightenment. After seeing the mystic projections, I have come to realize that this may be the child I was told to seek."

Isokratos sighs. How was he going to explain this? He looks at his hands, then at the others. "It might sound a little screwy, but I was told to seek him out. I uh...have a connection to the ancestors of my people. They told me he was the best chance of saving all Nautilids and I needed to protect him with my life. I found him and offered my services. The doc was good enough to take me on."

Helio-Horus writes down some notes in a small notebook and mumbles to himself. After a moment, he looks up again.

"Besides Kenny Flopwig's actions, did you notice anything else suspicious before the attack?"

"Yes." Maker replies in a monotonous voice. "The Professor noted that the schematics he had pulled up on screen just beforehand were not his own. It is possible that his system may have been infiltrated."

"What was shown on the screen instead of the schematics?"

(The only thing you saw was a number counting down from... 20 or something I don't recall)

Isokratos explains about the flashing countdown then add "There is something else. Kenny, the nervous one, kept looking for something. He said it was his cigarette lighter, but he was awfully nervous about it.  His sister Kri and that nasty piece of work with them, Killagob, seemed annoyed by it." Isokratos leans forward. "Tell me something, chief. Killagob -- what's his story? Not everyone can hire Tiberius Vinter. And those two muckety-mucks at the Galactic Bank seemed awfully frightened of him."

Helio-Horus shakes his head.

"I'm the one asking questions here. Well, actually, I've got nothing else to ask you. You're free to go. The Professor will remain under our care for about a week, after that we'll let him go, no matter what."

You're swiftly escorted outside by a few officers, into the busy streets of Port Nomad. 

Fezzik is interested in going to the market to buy some of that fancy tape.

After that, probably get some rest.

Jimmy wants to head to the spaceport to check on Gogglefogger’s ship. 

Isokratos is unsatisfied by the security chief's answers (or lack thereof) and wants to do a little more investigating of the halflings.

"Kiri and Kenny both took some bad knocks -- my guess is they're probably in the clinic under guard. We could start there... or, we could go to Grug's. The seedier the bar, in my experience, the more likely it is that someone in it knows something about all shady goings-on in town. And I could use a drink -- a real drink."

"I do not imbibe alcoholic beverages but experience this makes me a more efficient interrogator of those who have."
