Jimmy’s trying to watch for guns and people who look like they don’t belong. Assassin types. He may not be as smart as some, but he’s no dummy. He understands the implications of Gogglefogger’s work.
Maker's optical sensors appear to be on the fritz, and he notices nothing. Jimmy notes the lack of masked people wielding weapons and concludes that the room is indeed assassin free.

Isokratos is surprised by the presence of another Nautilid and hovers near her table, not speaking to her, but also watching her carefully. He will also keep an eye out for the woman in the red dress who made such a dramatic exit earlier. Isokratos finds it a bit strange that she hasn't shown up yet for the presentation.
As he watches Lysandra, Isokratos notices her take a small device from a pouch on her suit.
Horus-Lux sees Helio-Horus at the bar, watching over the bar. He gives his fellow avia-ra a dutiful nod before returning to watching over the room. Horus-Lux notices that the security chief appears to be looking over the crowd, not at them like one would expect.

(You can make a technology check to determine what it is, if you want. Not sure what you mean by a part of the aqua suit, it's something she took from a pouch in the suit, not a part of it)

(I guess I was wondering if Isokratos was able to know if it were something like a universal translator or something that normally would be built into the suit. Sorry if I was unclear.)
Technology check: Unable to parse dice roll.
Isokratos steps a little closer to Lysandra, watching her curiously, but making no move to intercede -- yet.
The professor looks up from the table and gives a nod to the audience, and then pushes a button on one of the small devices in front of him. There is an awkward pause when nothing happens, save for a soft whirring sound. The audience stirs anxiously while they wait. Then, all at once, there is a burst of light as the device projects a massive star map, filling the room with its breathtaking view of the ‘verse. A few members of the audience gasp as Professor Orryn begins speaking in a bright tone. As is the custom, he begins his presentation with a terrible joke and a joyful wag of his eyebrows. “All of the known ‘verse, so beautiful that it makes the goggles fog.” After a few moments of awkward silence, Professor Orryn Talfough-Gogglefogger coughs into the back of his hand, wipes some sweat from his brow, and continues. “Our civilizations have redefined the word impossible for millions of years. And yet, until now, only gnomish technology, my peoples’ technology, could traverse Dead Magic Zones. While the government on Nebellion would never agree with my stance, it is my firm belief that all races and all civilizations deserve the chance to access the many worlds within these Dead Magic Zones. And that is precisely why I have created the Talfough Matrix, a technology that projects a field allowing magic in the zones where magic has always been said to be an impossibility!”
Several members of the audience begin to clap, but the dwarf instead stands and gives a loud boo. Captain Lysandra stands and shoves her way past Isokratos as she moves towards the dwarf and tries to force him back in his seat. The dwarf shoves her back. And the two begin arguing.

Maker, make a perception check.

He's never met a halfling and one of his associates called them children.

Isokratos has no clue what she's holding.

Kennie and Ember look mildly troubled by it, and the professor appears miffed, but no one else seems to really care all that much.
