Maker turns to the professor. "I agree with my coworker. The longer you prolong this presentation Professor, the more opportunity there is for something to go wrong."

"Well, it's just as well that I'd just finished going over my notes."
The professor heads up to the stage, then turns back around and speaks again.
"And... erm... do keep an eye out, please? For... anything. And anyone."
He returns and begins fiddling with some gadgets and other technological whatnot on a small table on stage before turning to a holo-screen in the back of the stage. He spends a few minutes at it, then lets out an exasperated sigh and walks back to the party, looking at Maker.
"Umm... could you help me with a little something on stage? The holo-screen is being... uncooperative."

"Ignorance is bliss, and you look absolutely miserable."
Maker nods and accompanies the professor back to the stage, taking a look at the holo-projector and attempting to resolve the issue. It leaves the drones down at the base of the stage facing outwards.

”Watch out for that elf near the bar. If she’s not into me, I’m thinkin’... she must be one o’ them body snatchers. Actin’ perty weird. Unless she’s into me, then it’s about normal.”
Maker looks over the holoscreen, shaking its head. This will require some doing. It steels itself, preparing to dive in. It won't have much time, but if it can pull this off... well, it'll get to that when it gets to that. It lifts a shaking hand to the holoscreen, and hits the power button. The holoscreen shuts off. It's too late to turn back now. Wracked by nerves, Maker raises its hand again, and presses the power button a second time. The holoscreen turns back on.
If maker had lungs, it'd breathe a sigh of relief. It just accomplished an incredible technological feat: recalibrating a holoscreen by turning it off and on again. The professor smiles, shaking Maker's hand.
"Thanks for that, friend. There might be a little something extra for you once the job's done."
He walks over to the rest of the group.
"I'm about the begin the presentation, now, just thought I'd let you know."
The Professor appears excited, but Maker, Horus-Lux, and Isokratos notice something else.
Despite not appearing nervous, there's something sad in the Professor's eyes...
He leaves to take the stage, and as he does everyone must roll initiative.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The Nautilid looks at the professor in surprise. This was supposed to be the little gnome's big triumph and Isokratos didn't like what he was seeing. It looked like resignation.
He slowly moves his hand down and it hovers near the swarm blaster on his hip.
“Let’s get this show launched into the black, yeah?” Jimmy taps his foot impatiently. ”Thwirrels or not, this thing is happening.”

Isokratos will stay on the floor, keeping his eyes on the crowd, looking for anything the least bit out of place.
Fezzik positions himself near the door in the event violent miscreants need to find peace.
