After several days of a journey several travelers make their way into the town of Taldareth, passing through the ruins of what clearly look to be of old elvish make. This contrasts starkly with the wooden and brick buildings that have been constructed in more recent times. People of various races wander through the streets, going about seemingly normal lives. Some stand out though as they are carrying stones or various tools that would be used to clear rubble or dig into the earth.
While there are several shops and other various businesses, the largest building that seems to be open to the general populous is a two story building with the smell of food and the sound of music coming from it. A sign above the door reads "Ruin's Rest' On either side of the door are two men that look as though they are bodyguards of some sort, one a scarred half orc with a large maul strapped to his back and the other a half elf with a large crossbow resting in one hand. While they don't stop anyone from going into the building, they keep a look out as if expecting somone.
Kiyo casually strolls up to the building, gives the thugs a professional nod then enters. She looks to see of there are any empty spaces at the bar and pulls up a stool. Sipping on something to pass the time seems a good idea.

"............anybody got any potatoes? We could drop a potato in each hole an' see which ones get viciously mauled by horrible monsters?"
Perrin Goodbarrel wanders through the streets, listening in on conversations for gossip and rumours as he goes. He makes his way to the landmark building, tipping an imaginary hat to the two guards, "Well met, most brutish one," he flashes a toothy grin at half-orc, and then turns to the half-elf, "And to you too, my pointy eared cousin." Inside, Perrin ducks in and around people in the tavern towards the barkeep. Reaching the bar, he hops up on a stool and gets the keeper's attention, "This seems a lovely little place, sir. Got any tasty morsels of information or stories about town? Happy to pay with a dandy little performance," he flashes another toothy smile.
Dusk carefully navigates the sea of people leading up to the Ruin's Rest, keeping her hood pulled low. After so many months on the road, travelling from town to town she still was not used to the hustle and bustle of having so many people packed into such small spaces. Quietly stepping through the door, she escapes the busy streets for the relative quiet inside. Walking to the bar, she selects a stool a few seats away from the halfling and orders a drink in a softly spoken voice, "A glass of spiced wine please."

From behind the tiny halfling comes a booming voice. "I fear that position has already been spoken for little one." The speaker is a large goliath woman. Standing around seven and a half feet tall she towers over the rest of the crowd inside the tavern. Her skin such a pale grey as to almost be white, the normally dark locks of goliath instead an actual white, and blue tattoo lines rather than the traditional black ones, Nirrea looks more like a miniature frost giant than a member of their more distant kin. She pats the drum at her side and continues; "I am a superior skald and have already offered my services in singing the Ballad of Brun the Bold."

Jinsashi stops in the middle of the street and looks around with his gray eyes. Two inches taller than six feet, he doesn't have much trouble peering around over the heads of the pedestrians. The silver dragonborn, with his long, blue, rope-like tendrils hanging from the back of his head, is an interesting sight. Silver and blue robes, bulky due to the chainmail beneath, clearly identify him to fellow believers as a cleric of Bahamut. Those who spot him from behind can also see the striking symbol of the platinum dragon emblazoned upon his shield. The ignorant might mistake him for a herald of Kalirathza, but they couldn't be further from the truth. Retribution against the offending dragon is on this one's mind. He spots the Ruin's Rest, and his stomach speaks up, encouraging the cleric to stop in for a bite. Not paying any attention to the bouncers, he enters and looks for a table, patiently waiting for a sign from the divine.
Dusk would sip on her wine as she watches the confrontation happening a few seats away. The visual of a goliath and a halfling locked in a standoff is humouros to her and a small chuckle escapes her lips.

Perrin laughs heartily as the goliath stands over him, so much so that he almost falls off his chair. "My, my, you're a large woman! You know, I could add to your performance with a little woodwind music," he says, wiping a tear or two of laughter from his eyes, "Drums are well and good to get a toe tapping, but a little melody never hurt aid in a dance either!"
As the barkeeper is spoken to you get the sight of a very very old dwarf, his hair and beard snow white. Delete the venerable age he is well built and carries an axe on his belt, his stormylue eyes scanning each of the new arrivals. "Ain't got no more wine. That one with the fancy clothes got the rest of it." He motions to a well dressed half elf that looks to slowly be creeping into middle age, small amounts of grey showing in dark brown hair.
"Both of ya can play and if I be likin what I hear then I will pay in coin and maybe some of the local blatherin."
Jinsashi places his hand on the back of a chair in order to pull it out and sit, but something tells him to look one more time around the room. His eyes spot a well-dressed half-elf a couple of tables away. His gaze lingers on the individual before he walks over to their table. The dragonborn greets the half-elf in a traditional elven way then says, "I am a traveler from [insert neighboring country]. The journey has been long and solitary. May I join you?"
When the dragonborn steps through the door, Dusk's eyes are immediately drawn to it. Could this be an agent of the tyrant dragon? Do they already know?

Upon the barkeep's announcement that they would both play Nirrea leaned over and clapped the halfling on the back. "In that case a dance it is. Tell me friend what songs do you know?" The large musician makes her way to the corner that counts as a stage in this homespun venue.

Perrin falls off the stool as the goliath claps him on the back. Quickly picking himself up and brushing himself off though, he laughs. "Do you know 'The Seven Screw-ups That Saved The World'? Seems somewhat fitting." He laughs again and gets out his flute. "Failing that, start playing something and I'll jump on in!"
(Since the two of you are performing You can either roll me a single performance check with advantage or two performance checks separately.)
Upon hearing someone speaking to him, the half elf looks up from a book he had said on the table in front of him. The words on the page seem to be written in elvish but upon closer inspections there are a few notes written in common on the sides. once he seems to fully comprehend what you said to him he smiles seemingly not used to hearing proper elvish.
In elvish he responds. "Please do. It has been sometimes since someone outside of my closed circle of companions has spoken to me in the tongue of my father. I am not used to seeing a dragon born of your color in such a place. Although it is not uncommon as I know your people have recently begun to travel farther into this great country."
Jinsashi sits, adjusting his equipment and his tail to allow him to do so. "Have they? I have not been treated unkindly, so I see no reason for my fellow dragonborn to not feel welcome here. I must admit that I was a little nervous, having never visited Kalirathza before. The country is quite mysterious to those of us in the Collective. Our government keeps the people mostly in dark when it comes to relations with our neighbors. Do you feel your government is more tight-lipped or forthcoming?"
The bartender covers his ears as the playing starts, readying for the slight boos and calls to stop from the other patrons in the Ruin's Rest. Dusk's playing helped a bit but for the most part then other drinking turned their attention away. "Ye know what of ya don't play again I'll give ya some of the local talk..."
"Oh unless you are of the small amount of nobility that was allowed to retain their lands and titles then yes it is very closed. The kobolds have a large amount of free reign to such things but only at the discretion of their clan leaders." The half elf tells the dragonborn.
