Shall we just say that over the next hour or so, Jinsashi asks enough questions and gets enough appropriate responses that he suspects everyone is here for the same reason? :) It would have been really clever if the letter had included some kind of secret phrase that could be said to identify each other.
So, over the course of about an hour, Jinsashi decides Bahamut has arranged for all of these brave souls to arrive at the same place at the same time to accomplish the same task. He tells them all to follow him upstairs, and once away from the kobold, tells them about the half-elf and the note and key. "Let us pray this is not a trap," the dragonborn says as he leads them to the end of the upper level. He lifts a fist to knock on the door, then hesitates. Instead, he draws open his purse, pulls out the key, and attempts to unlock the door with it.
Perrin eyes the key Jinsashi pulls out of his purse with curiosity. I wonder if that's one of those magic keys that can unlock anything? He thinks to himself.
As the key is pushed into the lock it clicks easily, the door being pulled open. In the room you see the middle aged half elf and a man in cloth robes holding out a Holy Symbol. (Roll a Religion check of you want to know who the symbol is for. For ease we are using the standard Pantheon so you know.)
Anyone that steps into the room please roll a Charisma save.
Jinsashi palms the key (intending to give it back to the half-elf) and leads the group into the room. At the sight of the two individuals, the dragonborn halts.
Everyone but Kiyo knows that whatever the spell was it did not effect them. Kiyo until spell ends or you leave the area you can not tell ab outright lie. You are not compelled to tell the truth but you can't tell a lie.
As Dusk filters into the room together with the rest, she looks cautiously at the two people before them, "So I assume the call for help originated with you?"

(OOC - I'm happy with that as a movement forward if everyone else is.)
Yeah, no problem, we're all buddy buddies. Do we kill the kobold now or later?

(That is fine by me. Also there is a reason as to why there is no message on the note.)

Dusk would follow cautiously, not sure what exactly to expect from this point on.

Perrin scratches his chin as he ponders over why his new companion had a key to this random room, then shrugs and walks in.

All but of you but Kiyo so far have passed the save.
Dusk and Jinashi see that the Holy Symbol is that of Helm a lawful neutral God.
(OOC: Not sure if that is supposed to be the picture of the holy symbol, but I don't see it.)
