(can I determine from which direction the source of the celestial magic comes from? Is it from within the cave?)
Rendell tries to keep a calm voice when he says: "Celestial power. We are here not to offend you. We have been summoned to find Nightstone. Please help us...."

Kallaia hears Rendell's appeal and decides to have some fun. Whispering some arcane syllables and pointing her fingers in a series of complex movements, conjuring up a sudden glowing image of a glowing angel in front of Rendell (minor illusion). Just as suddenly she allows the vision to dissipate and attempts to appear as if she never ceased investigating the goliath's spot.

Not sure of what he had seen Rendell yells; "here, an angel. It's an angel." Rendell relaxes with the idea of an angel appearing before him but still slightly cautious why an angel would approach him and would want to speek to him. "Angel, please let me know why you are here and how we can be of service to you?"
Rendell bows lightly, holding his hands in a praying pose while speaking to the angel.

Rendell waits for a few long seconds starting to doubt what he sensed and saw. From the corner of his eyes he checks what the others are doing and if they saw him. He also taps into his detect magic feeling again to find out if the magic he felt is still there. "I just felt this divine magic. It's right here." pointing at the spot right before him.

"Despite that it conflicts with the arcane laws I am more familiar with, it is a well documented phenomenon that divine intervention is relatively common in our world." The overly logical warforged just shrugs and walks to the mouth of the cave. "I am prepared for you to lead."
Kallaia walks over to take a look at the spot indicated by Rendell. Appearing to give it the once-over, she then shrugs and moves to join the strange man made of metal at the entrance to the cave. "I'm up for a little jaunt to check out this village. Best not to keep our benefactors waiting on us."

Aye Cael huffs out as he joins the group around the empty spot of cave. The village does seem the best place to gather more information, more than these pebbles here at the very least. Perhaps a drop of drink as well?
Still a bit shaken by the appearance Rendell is a bit hesitant to leave hoping the angel will come to him again. After the others have left Rendell slowly goes after them. Silently asking his master for answers to the questions he has and for guidance.

Rendell is approached by a small squirrel that only he can see, obviously a message from his patron. It telepathically tells him that this entire quest is a terrible idea and that he must either get drunk in town or do a small good deed.
The tiefling wanders out of the cave heading towards the wooded mountainside. "Heading to town sounds good to me. Last one back down buys the first round."

Rendell strolls into town (what's it called?) last and looks for the first bar. I check if the others are in there and order drinks for all of them. Shortly after the first round I order another round already starting to feel the alcohol buzz from the first beer I downed way to fast. I ask the barkeeper casually if he knows where to find the Nightstone. I pay for the two rounds of drinks and a bit extra in order to get the answer I'm searching for.

"Nightstone?" The Half-elven barkeep and owner of the Old Bargewright in the settlement of Bargewright Inn says with a smile. "Anything interesting going on there to send four reasonably armed people that way?" His smile curls into a bit sharper one as he whispers, "A bit of coin might job my memory of the place's rough whereabouts Meanwhile, a beautiful purple-skinned tiefling haltingly plays the flute and flirts furiously with the few patrons, their sour, grumbling faces all nose deep in mugs of strong, cheap ale.
Kallaia walks over to the purple performer and casually leans in between (him/her?) and the patron they're currently seducing. "Pretty quick with that flute there friend. You seem like you might lack for some accompaniment in a place such as this." Retrieving her dulcimer from where it is slung across her back she makes her way towards the corner they were originally performing out of, all while maintaining eye contact. "What say you? Your flute, my strings and voice?"

“How about I make sure my companions keep on playing and entertaining your guest. That way your guest have a night to remember and a hangover they wish they’d never had which means a lot of extra coins in your pocket. not to forget our coin. Then instead of the rough whereabouts you tell me exactly what you know about nightstone. As for questions you have, I just don’t have any answers. I just know we want to go there.” with a wink Rendell turns around and starts walking to his group pleased with all he is certain he has already accomplished. He sits down with the others and tells them the barkeeper’s willing to tell us all about Nightstone if we entertain his guest a bit. They need a bit of waking up.

No problem at all :) Rendell detects that the divine energy is coming from more or less the exact spot the angel appeared.
