Krinix takes pot shots with his fire bolts, sending blast after blast of crackling blue flames at the monsters. He has no interest in taking any of these things alive. He's frankly pretty creeped out by the apparent ability of the little monsters to enslave a larger host, and has no intention of getting close to the little things. He sends Glide on down the tunnel to observe the further enemies more closely and give warning if it looks like they're en route.
(we'll roll initiative next time, for now, we'll assume they're stuck.)
(Peeking behind the DM's screen, the remaining 3 have less than 5 HP remaining)
Krinix takes down another one, its grubs popping with a disturbing velocity before its host collapses.
The remaining 2 seem to recognize what's happening. The infested orcs scream horribly as the grubs attempt to remove themselves, abandoning their dying bodies, and instead seek healthy flesh once more.

Faerieth, curious, speaks up, "Should we... kill the grubs? Ensure they cannot... spread their possession? Perhaps one of us... should check on the young one."
There are 4 grubs that are just about free of the bodies they were inhabiting. Burrowing out, with their mouths leading the way, and Chroma is keenly aware that the creatures can spit some kind of stinking gooey substance.

Chroma calmly crushes any approaching grub underfoot, informing her companions to be wary of the substance the grubs emit. Knowing her ranged resources have been expended, she will stand just beyond the perimeter of the growth of spikes, preparing to pummel any grub or zombified orc.

Quran keeps his distance, focusing on one of the grubs trying to eject itself near Chroma. He is unhurried and calm, determined to conserve his strength.

Another medical problem. Indefinite hiatus. Sorry, all.
The fire bolts seem particularly effective, as they strike the host body and ignite it, the flesh of the grubs bubbles and bursts. The grubs, already half-dead, pose little resistance as they're dispatched. 2 of the orc bodies are still burning, though all of them have crumpled to the floor at this point, and while they lie in the shallow flow of water in the trench at the middle of the tunnel, the fire is still burning on the bodies. The flames seem to get carried by the water before eventually going out.
In the distance, the other group of 10 is making their approach. The tunnel is about 12 feet wide, so they're not going to be able to surround the four. Of the 10, 5 of them are carrying single-hand weapons, 4 of them improvised clubs and 1 crude knife. They'll be slowed down by the tangle vines further.

Chroma continues to lay into the first one which exits the tangle of vines, going for blows to the sternum to avoid contacting the grubs that enjoy collecting inside the head.
First hit - 18 Damage: 8 Second hit - 20 Damage: 6

Qiran chuckles darkly. Like fish in the barrel, they said. He draws his finger over his spellbook again, drawing close, backpedaling, moving to try and keep them at bay while the party whittled down their numbers with spell and fist.
(Casting Toll the Dead, range 60, wisdom save 14. Each time a wounded target fails it takes 1d12 damage, the first one to fail takes 3)

The infected orcs are slowed to a crawl as they struggle past the entangling vines but eventually their number form 'ranks'.
2 of them fall, the grubs exploding within their sores as their bodies burn, and Chroma collapses the ribcage of another, piercing its heart with its own ribs. The grubs can't control a dead body, leaving them to attempt to wriggle out of the slumped-over corpse.
7 left; Chroma herself acts as a decent road block Due to the remaining orcs utilizing weapons, they can't pile up one after another, essentially stuck with attacking 4 at a time as they attempt to get the group to break apart from one another.

(It's only been like, 30 seconds or so. The first batch went down fast but the second line would be there in 18 seconds if my math is right. Gimmie a sec to post, I'm fighting something and it's hard to concentrate. No, not the 'rona, this feels like a sinus infection.)

Krinix, seeing them more clearly through Glide’s eyes, warns the group,
“Here come 10 more, let’s try to shoot them down before they get to us. Faerieth, if you keep up your spell, that should slow them down.”
Krinix proceeds to launch as many fire bolts as he can before they draw near. (Range 120’)
