Uneasy about the people he hears coming, Alev remains vigilant. He tries to spot any lies on the woman's words, and hears carefully for any sign that this approaching "book club" might not be what it seems.

((My internet was very unreliable yesterday. Sorry)) Lady FIona responds, "We are currently reading Depths of Desire, a dark romance novel. I would invite you to the meeting tonight, but I don't know you that well."
After a final sip, she asks, "What do you plan on doing here in Vallaki?"
Alev, while she was truthful, the way she said it was almost like an inside joke.
Leann, as you reach out with your divine power, you hear a faint chime in your mind and feel a surge of magic race through your body. You need to make a DC 19 Wisdom Saving Throw or be paralyzed. Nobody else notices this.
(No matter, 19 was the first so does not matter if advantage or not.)
Leann shakes her head as she feels some power trying to take control of her body. She stays seated for now... Does she sense anything with her divine sense then?
The first time Leann reached out with her divine sense, she was blocked and then assaulted by an arcane force ((aka a hidden Glyph of Warding)). If she expends another use, this time she learns that there are two fiendish presences nearby. You sense that one of them is on the other side of the house, and the other is coming from atop the mantle just a few feet away. You also detect an a presence of evil emanating from below you somewhere, and something on Lady Fiona has a faint evil aura as well. She also learns there is a curse effect somewhere upstairs in addition to a faint undead aura also upstairs. Finally, she detects that several objects in the house have been desecrated in some manner.
As Leann resists her magical paralysis, Lady Fiona's gaze flicker over to her for a moment, but she doesn't say anything. After listening to Sergei's exclamation, you see her face harden. She asks flatly, any tone of friendliness in her voice gone, "So, do you support the Burgomaster?"
“That addled fool? Heavens, no! We were merely admiring the townsfolk here for their liveliness. Actually, we were quite dismayed to see some of the villagers in the stocks when we arrived. Is he a very stern governor, then?”
"If I'm being honest, I don't like the Burgomaster, nor those who are like him." Alev says, motivated by the lady's change in demeanor.
He's staring into his cup of tea as he says this, and then turns to look at the Lady. "...You are not telling the Burgomaster we are saying this, right? I don't wanna end up in the stocks just for speaking the damn truth."

She narrows her eyes at your statements, but detecting no falsehood, her friendliness starts up again as she says, "Well, good. Our Burgomaster is a (PG-13 version of darn) fool." She looks at each of you for a moment as if assessing something before she continues casually with a sly grin tugging at the corner of her mouth, "It would be such a shame if something were to befall our beloved Burgomaster, now wouldn't it?"
Rudick, who had been for the most part silent and vigilant, narrowed his eyes ever so much, and spoke up for the first time since giving his "name". "A shame, perhaps indeed. But fortunately, it is not likely anything should happen. Not while he has a reputable bodyguard at his side. And fortunately... for him, the people he would rule over have not grown tired of his antics. Most, in any event."He states dryly. "Be all that as it may, we are but outsiders, and these are but speculations... As they should remain."He stated more formally.
"Now, do you or your... book club.. have as a member, or know of an elf blooded person with a particular interest in history, strange or otherwise?"
She gives the group a long, hard look before saying, "I get the feeling that you people like to help others. If you want to do good for this town, you should "remove" Izek, his demonic bodyguard. Izek is the only reason people fear the Burgomaster enough to put up with his festivals."
She turns to Rudick. "As for you, we have no members of elvish descent. The only elves I know of are the ones dying outside of town, and they keep to themselves."
"Thank you for your time then." Leann says, setting down her tea cup and getting to her feet. "I am sure you wish to get to your book club, so we won't take more of your time just now." She glances to her companions and then back to their host. "Again, thank you for taking this time for us." With that she turns and heads for the exit.

(Is it a spell or a magic effect? If so she has advantage, though a 19 is still not likely to be easy... Rolling twice, use advantage if appropriate.)

Sergei says,
“We heard about the festivals and came to observe them. How fortunate of you to live in a town with so much zest for life!”
Alev shurgs, not being interested on literature himself. He's still feeling suspicious.
"I think she was being honest, but still, there's something weird about this..." He messages Sergei.

The Lady’s insinuation is not lost on Sergei, but he takes a moment of musing before responding...
Sergei agrees. “Quite a shame. Why, who would take care of the town?” (Tone of mock concern)
