You work at the lock for a moment before you spring it open. The priest says with a shuddering breath, "You are right. I... I will leave for a while." He leaves the room with feet dragging as he sniffles.
You remove the chain from the trapdoor and open it just a bit. Despite being unlocked, the damp floor holds the door close. When you apply some pressure to try to open it up, the door opens with a small squelching noise, and a draft of cold, musty air escapes from below like the final breath of a dying man. The moans and noises from below suddenly cut off.

Impressed at how Alev got the door unlocked with his new tools, Skip whispers to him “Hold on my friend”, as he makes a small sound as he speaks an incantation. Gesturing with his hands as he flicks some colourful sand in a small spray, into the room, as he pushes the door open further, casting colour spray into the room.

A dazzling array of flashing, colored light springs from your hand. Roll 6d10; the total is how many hit points of creatures this spell can affect. Creatures in a 15-foot cone originating from you are affected in ascending order of their current hit points (ignoring unconscious creatures and creatures that can't see).
Starting with the creature that has the lowest current hit points, each creature affected by this spell is blinded until the end of your next turn. Subtract each creature's hit points from the total before moving on to the creature with the next lowest hit points. A creature's hit points must be equal to or less than the remaining total for that creature to be affected.
The Orc nods without so much as a glance back at the priest. "Hmph! There goes any element of surprise... not that there would've been much." He commented in response to crying being cut off. "Leann or Sergei. Once inside, stick close to the door. We don't him slipping the noose. And one of you light up a torch. If there's a scrap of darkness or dim lighting, it may use it to ambush one of us."
With that said, and while the gnome worked his newfound magic, Rudick too would call in a guttural tongue a miracle of his own encase himself again in a spectral layer of armor. And though it fades quickly from view, when he soon after slip into the room, assuming Skip's magic yielded no results, it is with a confidence and comfort the protection yet remained about him.

"What element of surprise? Pretty sure the vampire knows we just opened the door..." Alev snarks to the orc, before turning to Skip. "Thanks. Let's hope that your spell helps."
He follows behind Rudick, cowering behind the big guy and trying his best to not be seen right away, one hand over his pendant and the other over his dagger.

Sergei will bring up the rear, planning to attack at long range, but he will also try to prevent the creature’s escape, if it comes to that. He sure hopes it doesn’t. Sergei doesn’t feel very physically adept.
The church undercroft has rough Hume walls and a floor made of damp clay end earth. Rotten wooden pillars strain under the weight of the wooden ceiling. Candle light from the chapel above slips through the cracks, allowing you to see a gaunt shape in the far corner. You can see the hunched figure lurking behind one of the pillars in the northwest corner. As you descend, it hisses in the voice of a young man, "I can smell your blood." It doesn't engage you get as it warily watches you.

“Damn, I guess my spell didn’t work” Skip whispers, as he warily slides both blades out, and sinks into the shadowed recesses of the room, gliding along the right hand wall, aiming to flank the creature
"And the smell is all you are gonna get..." Alev says softly.
He turns to the rest. "So what's the plan here? Should I burn him? I once heard a tale that vampires burn into ashes with the sun..." He asks, a fiery gleam in his eyes. "I don't have the sun here with me, but I have magic!"

Rudick just nods slowly, but without looking away from the gaunt figure. He dared not do so with an enemy less known to him. Whether the others follow or not, the Orc proceeded closer to the figure, drawing forth his warhammer slowly until rested comfortably in hand by the midway point. "Resist, if you wish. As ever being to breath is given teh choice to. But know, in the end, your time in this place will come to an end soon." He'd say, tightening his grip as he edged closer into melee, ready to strike if the young man hadn't leaped to action first.

You see Skip materialize from the darkness and lawn out with his blades. Both weapons score ragged slashes across its body. Its skin and muscle underneath are much tougher than you originally thought. The wounds you inflicted aren't as severe as you thought they would be. The vampiric spawn hisses, revealing pointed fangs in its mouth. It lunges forward and attempts to cut Skip into ribbons.

Growling, Rudick rushed the last few steps and swept the warhammer from the side in hopes of battering the Vampire off Skip. "Off him, Cretin! Your foe is me. And as Gond as my witness, what you have made in fury shall be unmade!"He states, channeling unconsciously a divine power to mend at least some of Skip's wounds.
