"Well, maybe we can learn more about this Madam Eva while we are here." Leann suggests with a shrug. She would stride towards the tents. "We were told to seek a Madam Eva." She says to the dancing figures. "Do you know where we can find her?"
The drunkard responds with his spurred words, "You know you wants some." He shakes the wine bottle in front of him before staggering back towards the fire. He calls over his shoulder, "It was called 'My Fair Lady," before he joins in the dancing. He
You see a figure who isn't joining in the revelry, a woman, sitting on the edge of a wagon. She says to the group with a nod, "Madame Eva says she's been expecting you. She's over there." She points to the larger tent.
Sergei rolls his eyes. He’s read about fortune tellers and how they’re merely charlatans and scammers. This makes him rather eager to see one in action, and perhaps show off how smart he is by spotting her tricks, maybe exposing her.
”Oh, she’s been expecting us? How typical. Best not to keep her waiting, then.”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
If Alev had been able to smile, he would have. "Thanks!" He says to the woman before walking towards the tent. He checks around him to try and make sure that he and the others are not being led to an ambush.
He gives a glance back to Ismark and Ireena. "I know you don't like these people, and you may have your reasons to do so. We just want to check something and then we'll be back, is that alright?" He says before going into the tent. I wonder if this Eva would be interested in buying a creepy-looking new orb to decorate her tent with....

Rudick, who had been taciturn and distracted throughout much of the exchange, merely sighed and without a word began making for Eva's tent. Though there had been a moment he seemed tempted to join the man from before, if only for the drink, the interception of others spared the orc another distraction.

As you pull open the flap to this tent, magic flames cast a reddish glow over the interior of this tent, revealing a low table covered in a black velvet cloth. Glints of light seem to flash from a crystal ball on the table as a hunched figure peers into its depths. As the crone speaks, her voice crackles like dry weeds. "At last you have arrived!" Cackling laughter bursts like mad lightning from her with it lips before she continues excitedly, "Yes! Yes! I have foreseen your arrival!" She arches her fingers and rotates her spidery hands around the orb as she calls out as her eyes search the orb with frenetic energy, "Sergei, the Lord of Terror your brother sought inflects his will upon you even as you plot for revenge! Leann, an outcast from her people who has shunned their dark gods and chosen a path of light! Skip, the child born under the death of a father! Rudick, the one who showed pity and was banished for it!" She jumps to her feet, face upturned as her hands tremble, fingers stretching to the sky. "ALEV, CAST DOWN TO THE STREETS AS THE POWER OF DRAGONS BLAZES THROUGH HIS VEINS!!!" Lightning dips through the air and thunder shakes the earth as she basis in the power of the storm. She holds her pose for a few seconds before she relaxes and settles down onto her stool with a manic gleam in her eyes. With a crazed grin, she asks, "Would you like your fortunes read?"
Sergei is taken aback. That is not common knowledge. Had he mentioned to someone...? Perhaps those Vistani ladies had overheard, back in the town? His mind raced. But no, he had confided in no one. He barely confided in himself! How could she know something like that? He scans the room with his eldritch sight, looking for magic. Perhaps this was no mere charlatan. Or else she was more skilled than the books gave credit for.
Alev shrinks into his coat, impressed but frightened. This woman apparently not only knew their names, but also his weird situation. How did she even knew? He hadn't even known himself what exactly his nature was before coming here! If not for Sergei's comment way back at the haunted house and everything that happened later, he still would be stuck in the theory that maybe one of his parents was a lizardfolk or a kobold or anything along those lines...
Was everything that she just said true too? Well, that didn't mattered that much right now.
"...Uh, yeah. As long as the price doesn't involve our souls." He chuckles awkwardly, eyes cast to the ground to avoid looking directly at her or at his companions.

Skip, off to the side of the group, raises an eyebrow. He doesn’t k is of what the mad old crone says about the rest of the group is true, but his fact was hardly a secret - it was in his name even. Plus his little reflection by the gallows....but he sees the look of surprise on Sergeis face, and now he can’t help but wonder......
Madame Eva cackles at Alev's comment before she says, "I don't deal in souls any longer. Too much hassle."
You see her wave her hand, and a stack of cards on a shelf behind her rise into the air. They gently float in the air above her table and separates into each individual card. As she speaks, the cards begin to weave and twist in the air, creating mesmerizing patterns. She says, "I have seen many adventurers in my time. Strahd brings them here for his various reasons, and most of the time, he wants to judge your worthiness for purposes only known to him. When you meet him, do not cower or you will die."
She continues, "I can help you defeat the darkness of this land. There are three artifacts of great power hidden within the this cursed realm: the Sunsword, The Tome of Strahd, and the Holy Symbol of Ravenkind. I can divine their locations for you in addition to helping you find a powerful ally. I can even tell you where you will find Strahd when you are ready." The cards drift down to the table, face down. She somberely says, "Pick a card. "
Though Rudick had initially hesitated, curious to hear the answer to Skip's question, the very same Gnome's eventual pulling of a card is enough to spur the gruff Orc to do the same. Even though the whole trafficking of souls in the past created an itch leaving him wanting to take up the warhammer. Thankfully, this never comes to past... not that he was likely to be successful versus someone with so potent a divination capabilities.

She seems to focused on the cards to answer Skip's question.
Sergei, looking around, you can see several of the items in the tent are glowing faintly with an aura of gray divination. The tent itself has a strong aura of blue abjuration. As Madame Eva flips over the first card, you alone see a pillar of amazing power explode into existence around her. Before you are forced to drop your eldritch sight to prevent becoming blind, you see the threads of time and the future open before you. Just a mere glimpse into the beyond threatens to destroy your sanity. Just before you look away, you see a man's gaunt visage rise to the surface. You see his dark face open up into a malevolent smile that reveals two pointed fangs. His face fades away and is replaced by a burning tent surrounded by wolves with a blazing horse made of darkness and flame in the air above them. Atop the horse, you can see the outline of a man pointing down at the tent. The wreckage of the tent looks suspiciously like the one you are currently in.
She takes your cards and places them on the table in a cross formation. Outside, the storm seems to subside as Madame Eva stretches her hand over the cards, her eyes closed in concentration. She opens her eyes and flips over the cards on the left. The card depicts an old miserable man looking down at the palm of his hand. His other hand is wrapped in a bloody cloth, and you can see several bags over one shoulder. Madame Eva says, "The Beggar. This card tells of history. Knowledge of the ancient will help you better understand your enemy. A wounded elf has what you seek. He will part with the treasure to see his dark dreams fulfilled."
She flips over the card on top. The card depicts a scrawny man with a sneer on his face as he rips the arm from a screaming woman. The wall behind him has several blood swords on a rack. Madame Eva says, "The Torturer. This card tells of a powerful force for good and protection, a holy symbol of great hope. There is a town where all is not well. There you will find a house of corruption, and within, a dark room full of still ghosts."
She flips over the card on the right. The card depicts a woman with her eyes burning with light, and you can see lightning arcing from her fingers into the sky. Madame Eva says, "The Elementalist. This is a card of power and strength. It tells of a weapon of vengeance, a sword of sunlight. The treasure is hidden in a small castle beneath a mountain, guarded by amber giants."
She flips over the card on the bottom. This card depicts a spectral ghost draped in heavy chains holding a lantern. Madame Eva says, "The Ghost. This card sheds light on one who will help you greatly in the battle against darkness. I see a fallen paladin of a fallen order of knghts. He lingers like a ghost in a dead dragons lair."
She flips over the last card in the middle. This card depicts a woman dressed in a fine, silken dress. Her hair is done up in elaborate braids, and a foldable fan covers her mouth so you can only see her eyes. Madame Eva says, "The Tempter. Your enemy is a creature of darkness, who's powers are beyond mortality. This card will lead you to him! I see a secret place, a vault of temptation hidden behind a woman of great beauty. The evil waits atop his tower of treasure."
As she finishes her last reading, she slumps back into her chair, and you can clearly see exhaustion etched onto her features. She says feebly, "Strahd has felt my scrying." Outside, you suddenly hear shouts of alarm.
Alev's wings shake a little as he tries to take it all in. A wounded elf, a fallen paladin, a sword... More than answers, the fortunes just left him with more questions.
Before, he could have made any of those questions, however...
"Damn it!" He hisses, and he turns to look behind him when he hears the shouts. He turns to Eva. "If he's here, don't you need to escape too? I suppose that guy isn't very happy with you after you helped us..."
