Yara looks visibly confused, What is a Merry? Shouldn’t we just be getting out of here? I know I don’t wanna get caught by any of their friends who were late to the party.
None of you can hear the sound of paddles or any speech from further up the tunnel, so you decide to take the time to look for anything that might help your journey.
On the bodies of the various downed fighters, you find a total of 99GP
Just off the main landing in the hall you find a library, which seems to have been doubling as the bedroom of the fathomer you just fought. The floor is covered in water and many of the books have been damaged beyond salvaging.
The remaining books — a dozen in all — are worth 25 gp each. Most cover nautical topics and include charts, excerpts from ships’ logs, and the like.
You discover a small wooden chest by her bed. The chest contains 80 sp, 30 gp, a silk pouch that holds four excellent jaspers worth 70 gp each, a scroll of haste, and a scroll of wall of water.
Searching the next room, it is clear it belonged to the boss man himself. Grimjaw’s loot consists of 600 sp, 450 ep, and a pouch containing fifteen blue azurites (worth 10 gp each).
The letter Grimjaw had shoved in Nibor's face details caravan traffic in Red Larch. It makes note of the arrival of “a band of troublemakers” with the racial mix of the party when they first arrived. The letter is unsigned, but the unusual handwriting mixes block letters and script.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Hmm, let me just have a quick nosey here
Nibor checks the books for any themes in location or points of interest (Investigation: 14 (anything that seems particularly of import he'll stash in his bag)
This is quite the haul my friends, is it the time to divvy this up or shall we wait to somewhere safer? I'm happy to carry for now if needs be!
Turning to Aura
Forgive me young Lady, in the kerfuffle I neglected to introduce myself, I'm Nibor and I believe in your rather inspiring introduction earlier you bellowed your name was Aura? What brings you here? Purely a vengeance thing? Your help was most invaluable there, you have my thanks
He does an awkward kinda bow towards her, he doesn't know how to bow...it doesn't really come off but it is genuine
Well met Nibor. You fought bravely, especially when we were so badly outnumbered at first.
Yes, Aura Larsayd. I am the daughter of Radiant, the blade master. The Larsayd school was up-and-coming under my father's excellent instruction and it seems this aggrieved someone enough to have Jolliver Grimjaw burn it to the ground with my father and I asleep inside.
The coward would never have been able to best my father in combat. It has taken me the best part of a year finding out it was him and tracking him down.
It is very lucky you were all here when you were. I am ashamed to say I have nowhere near the skill I thought I did and would have died here without you all.
Yara rummages through the belongings taking her share in gold and silver, uninterested in anything else.
She then returns to the group having overheard Aura and Nibor, Well met, she grunts in Orcish before speaking in the common tongue, You’s both skilled warriors.
Vengeance can often leave a hollow aftertaste. Well met to you. I feel like there is something larger afoot occurring here. These bandits are too well connected to be simple cut throats, taking a knightly orders keep is a bold move for someone without backing. I reckon we should get a wiggle on and continue searching for clues further in, up that darkened tunnel. Hopefully it’ll give us some clues as to what we are dealing with and where that missing caravan was taken.
Relaxing at both of the stranger's demeanour to the group Nibor relaxes slightly, to Aura he says
You have my condolences my dear, if your skills in combat are anywhere near your Father's he must have been most formidable. What are your plans now? We're a motley bunch but we mean well if you have further business here?
He's unsure how to talk to this Orcish character, he raises his hand to pat her back as she turns to rummage in the loot but thinks better of it..
Indeed Master Cole, indeed. That tunnel could hold the answers, either Merry got taken or came to and wandered off but yes, maybe we should explore slightly further?
(Nibor lets out a small chortle at the word wiggle, taking comfort in Cole's earlier healing and somewhat more relaxed manner around him)
I will try and help you find your friend, for now. I still need to learn who hired Grimjaw if I can. He seemed to be working with whoever took her, so I think you all will be my best chance, if you will have me.
Well I don’t have anywhere else to go and I owe you lot a debt for freeing me from the dungeon… Yara mumbles pulling up the wolfskin over her head in a poor attempt to hide her very young face, Yara’s me name.
She looks sheepishly at Nibor and Aura and gives them a half crooked smile in greeting.

Rollo updates Yara
Merry is our friend, and we’re going to save her.
Lets getting going into the darkness
Yara holds up a finger and swivels on her feet, marching back into the hall, seeming to have forgotten something.
She then begins to search the bodies, looking for anything good enough to loot.
Investigation 8
Coal sighs briefly before walking back into the hall. What’re you looking for? Two sets of eyes are better than one. Investigation 9
Rollo follows suit, not wanting to miss anything valuable

In one of the books, slipped in between a page with handmade charts of the riverways running through the area around the keep Nibor finds a note.
Nora. Don't forget to tell the new recruits to do the sign on the prow thing on the dark stream. Jolliver.
Aura smiles warmly at Nibor's clumsy bow.

Yara...pleasure to meet you. Coming now Master Cole!
