Cade rips apart the last zombie, not wishing for it to wake eventually. He then pads around, waiting for the others to finish searching.

Once Barnabus finishes his rounds he returns just in time to see Cade dispatch the final Zombie. He gives Cade a "Well done lad!" as he heads over to see what Wil has discovered. "Have ya found something then?" he asks.

Taking a closer look at the crooked flagstone, it appears that once upon a time it was hinged and counter-weighted but the mechanism has all but disintegrated.  With a bit of effort, it can be lifted, revealing a 5' wide shaft down into the darkness.  Iron rungs form a ladder down the side.

OOC: Well Kina’s not getting down that shaft....

Is Cade going to fit in Bear-form?  He might want to suggest a short rest otherwise, as it would be nice to get back his wildshape prior to going down.

“I was thinking that just Barney and I would go down and take a quick peek since neither one of us need light to see. Just a down and up so we don’t get surprised in we decide to rest here.”

 Probably not .... but everyone will need to do a long rest soon anyway

Wil:  you make it down the shaft, about 35' to the bottom.  About halfway down one of the rungs shifts, but holds, if barely.  At the bottom of the shaft is a small chamber cut from the bedrock, about 10'x15' in size, with a 5' wide passage leading off to the north.

Anything of interest or note in the chamber?

Completely bare, no recent tracks in the thick layer of dust on the floor.

"Coming down!" Says Barnabus in a loud stage whisper. He promptly swing out oer the hole and begins his decent.

Barney:  about halfway down, the rung that shifted for Wil snaps, plunging you the remaining 20' to the floor, causing 6 damage.

“You all right? Wait, of course you’re all right, you’re a stubborn dwarf that’s a solid as the mountain you lived under.” Wil says with a smile.

OOC: That 7 damage was what Barney did to the floor right? :D

"Aaaaack!!! Uufff!!" is heard from Barnabus as he hits the floor. He rolls over slowly and tries to answer Wil but can only manage a wheeze having had the wind knocked out of him by the fall. Holding up a finger (index 😉) he takes a couple deep breaths as he nods his head in the affirmative to Wil's inquiry. A couple moments and the aptly described stubborn dwarf gets up and indicates that Wil should continue.

The passage out of the chamber seems to follow a natural seem in the bedrock, so varies in width from 4' to 8' wide, winding a bit but maintaining a generally northward direction (per Barney's senses).

(You've gone about 100' as far as you can tell, and it continues on unchanged as far as you can currently see.)
