Northlands Campaign

Hearing the sounds and knowing what the sounds mean Bart extends his wings in front of the group motioning for a stop "There are bats in here, that is to be sure. And by their... droppings... seems to be more than a few. So are we sure this is a way we need to head?"

"If you can give me a few minutes, I can speak with the bats, and see if they have any information that could aid us." Cade informs the others. If the others are willing, he will cast speak with animals as a ritual.

"Any specific questions you want me to ask?" Cade would ask the others before starting the ritual.

Cade: 

"Considering all the filth that was undisturbed, probably nothing of interest anyway. " agrees Barnabus.

"Onward then." The dwarf states flately as he moves to the final door. Once everyone is in position he repeats his door opening ritual.

Barnabus:  The door opens easily onto a roughly 10' by 15' room that was likely a bed chamber once upon a time.  The crumbling furniture appears to have been pretty well destroyed even before time took its toll.  What little detail remains still has a presence of quality indicating this was probably the home of someone of importance back in the keep's heyday.

Bart looks to Cade and says "if you like I can stay behind with you. I believe talking to these bats may be worth the while."

OCC: sorry Cade somehow I missed your post. 

"Nothing in..." Barnabus starts to say as he exits the room. He stops as he soon as he sees Cade start some kind of ritual. "Uh...oops..sorry didn't mean to interrupt." he stammers.

Cade works on casting his ritual...

Perception: 9

As he finishes he would speak to the bats... "Have you seen large snakes around here?" Would be his first question. "If so, where?"

Cade: 

"Do you know where two-legs, nearly like me, are?" Cade asks the bats. He would nod towards where he heard the whisper from. To the group he would say, in their heads... "Can someone check out over there, some strange whisper as I started the ritual..."

Cade: 

(Can Cade tell which direction the whisper is coming from?)

"Did two legs travel through nest or not?" Cade asks, wondering if there is any reason to cross this area with the bats in it.

Cade: 

"Thank you little friends." Cade says. he backs from the bat's room, and then closes the door. He glances to his companions. "The snake, I believe, is over there." He gestures to the area he heard the whispery voice from. "But I believe it is just a normal snake, so not sure if we should bother it..."

”Very well, I guess on to the next room then?” Wil turns to head to the next room. 

(OOC:  The bat cave was the only room on the left, and Barnabus opened the last room on the right.  The only room remaining in this hallway is the large area at the end of the hall where Cade heard the snake.)

OOC: OK to recap, (and so I can mark on the map I printed out):

• We spent the night in the Northeast room
• South Hall
  • Bats are in the room next to the stairs in the south hall
  • The room with the door directly across from the door to the bat room effectively has nothing in it
  • The remaining room in the southern hall (next to the stairs from the courtyard) has snakes in it but remains unopened.

OCC: the room without the door at the end of the south hall has the snakes.

"Aye" Barnabus agrees with Wil and starts to follow him. "Lets hope our beast friend here is right but by the size of that slide I'm doubtin'' it. In fact let me go first so you have room to cover me with that bow of yours and you won't be getting in Fife's way." Barnabus whispers as he accentuates his point with a tip of his axe.

OOC:  Night spent in northeast room.
           South hall has 2 rooms on right, both explored and empty, and 1 room and stairs on left.  Stairs are impassable and room has bats.
           Open room at end of hall is where Cade her the sibilant whispers that he understood through the magic of his spell.  The whispers seems to be coming from the southeast, around where on the map the outer wall is collapsed.

Looking into the open area at the south end of the hall, it appears to have once been a barracks.  Broken and rotting beds and footlockers are scattered throughout the area.  Some slight movement can be detected at the southeast corner where the wall is collapsing.

Barnabus will move all the way to the south wall to give the others plenty of room to enter. He keeps his.eye on the area of movement the whole time.
