(You believe it to be an Axebeak, thought to be eradicated from Northlands almost a century ago because of the havoc it was causing as farming was expanding into their native region.)
"Did you guys see that?" Cade says as he steps away from the room with the stuffed animals. "There is an actual Axe beek back there..." He sounds quite surprised by this. "I haven't seen one of those... ever actually." He follows to the second door, but decides to let the lizard continue to sleep, following on towards the final door. He glances inside as well when the door is opened.
While the room itself looks very much like the bed chamber in the south hallway, the torch bracket by the door catches you eye. There is something odd about the stub of a torch that's stuck in it.

Cade glances up at the torch stub and frowns. "Can one of you tall folk take a closer look at that?" Cade asks, pointing to it. "It seems odd, but it is too high for me to reach..."

Kina is absolutely bewildered at the taxidermy museum. "Such a collection in such an isolated place. What in the world was this place used for, a zoo?" she mumbles. She's been mostly quiet and just observing, but when Cade asks for someone tall, well, how can she NOT? She clops over and takes a closer look, wiggling the torch mount a bit, twisting back and forth slightly, to see if it's loose.

The sconce is quiet solid, but the torch stub is actually metallic. As you move it, the sconce scraps paint off of its surface revealing a silvery gleam. (Silver baton, about 1' long, worth about 30gp.) You feel there is nothing else of interest in the bed chamber.
In the western hallway, there is the door on the right side to the kitchen with the sleeping lizard, and the double doors at the end of the hallway.

Kina examines the baton as best she can, pulling away the facade. "What in the world is this?" she wonders aloud, looking back to the sconce. "Why hide it as a torch?" she adds, then, experimentally, strikes the baton (lightly) on the wall. Maybe it's some kind of trigger? Surely there's more to it than just hiding valuables.
After Cade made the pronouncement about the sconce, Wil warily watched Kina incase disturbing the sconce trigger a trap and let out a silent breath of relief when it didn't. "Well, I'm sure whoever put it there had a reason for it. It may not trigger have anything in here but maybe it triggered something in an area we have not been in yet. Or maybe someone was just paranoid about their wealth and put it there as an "emergency" stash. Whatever the reason let's bring it with us, we can always melt it down and divide it up once we get back to town."
Kina is a bit puzzled by the object and puts it away in her saddlebag, catching up with the others. "Just hope this thing isn't an ancient ***** or something..." she mutters. "Be just my luck, carting around some dead noble's bedchamber toy and think it's the key to some hidden passage..."

Bart looks to Kina a bit in shock, but tries to come up with something witty to say "Well if it is that... I guess it would be a key to a hidden passage... Just not one we can venture to" giggles a bit proud of himself. And looks to Rachel as she has been offly quiet. "So what do you think fair lady? what is your opinion on all this?" and Bart will try to get a read on Rachel and what she is about.

With the paint removed, the baton makes a brief but bright ringing sound when struck. You find nothing else remarkable about the object.
