Beyond the doors is another large chamber, 40' wide and extending into darkness. An eerie half-light seems to shimmer throughout the room, such as sunlight seen from under water. While not enough to see by, the effect is persistent. In the center of the floor is a pile of rubble. From the entrance, some of the pieces in the pile appear to be carved or worked stone from a statue of some kind. To the north, about 20' ahead are another set of the large double doors similar to those you just opened. A little further along the south wall is a curtain backed alcove, 20' wide and a few feet deep.
As you enter the room, you notice in the corners to your left and right what appear to be smaller piles of rubble from smashed statues.

You are all quite certain the smaller piles of rubbles are the remains of gargoyles, and with Cade's nat 20 are able to piece together the large pile was a stone construct called a juggernaut. As you are checking over the piles, Fife begins humming softly, slowly escalating. At the far end of the room, there is another pile of rubble in one corner, but the statue in the southwest is slowly turning its head toward you and a red glow building in its eyes.
(OOC: the gargoyle has been dormant for an extended period, literally centuries, and so you have 2 rounds of action before it will be fully active.)

"Oye, watch it chums! Fife be playin' a tune. Somethin's amiss." warns Barnabus just as the gargoyle starts to turn its head. " There!" Exclaims Barnabus as he rushes toward the living stone being. As he approaches he swaps Fife for the bugbear morning star he had been carrying for just such a situation. " Keep the pressure on and don't let it scream" warns the dwarf as he swings the morning stsr.
Barnabus gives an annoyed growl as the chain on his morning star kinks mid swing causing him to miss his first strike. Determined to get the hang of this weapon he snaps his wrist effectively untangling the nub covered metal ball at the end of the chain. Rotating his shoulder send the ball swinging in an over the head arc that ends in an attempt to strike a second time.

Kina moves to full gallop once the target is revealed and brings her staff round to attack it from the other side with both hands. Far as she's concerned, the thing is just stone, and that striking with her hooves would hurt a lot less than trying to beat on it with her bare hands. She also uses another charge of her staff, but just one.
Charge attack: 11 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll. follow up kick attack: 236
The flurry of attacks reduces the gargoyle to rubble, causing Fife to again to quiet.
On the wall opposite the doors where you entered is the remains of what looks to have been a 3 tiered fountain carved of stone. Judging by the larger pieces, it was shaped to look like seashells.
Upon further exploration of the room, the curtain at the back of the alcove in the south wall it falling apart, the gaps revealing open space behind the curtain.

"Hah! Ha!" exclaims Barnabus as he stows the morning star. "Well done everyone! Though I see I may need a bit more practice with this weapon. It seems the pattern continues. It would appear as though this room represents water. Everybody look around. Perhaps we can figure out who was fighting here before us." Barnabus peeks through the curtain as he wanders about the room.
Cade would move over and stick his bear-head into the curtained area, seeing what is behind it. He would then move through the chamber, pawing at the other statues, making sure the pieces were not going to come to life any time soon.
Kina pipes up, curiously. "Just one?" she wonders, peeking about. "Let's pause for a moment here... for the magic to keep that thing alive to still be active... there must be something worth guarding around here." she says, taking special care to pick through the rubble and tap her staff on the walls and floors.

Barney and Cade: as you peer through the holes in the curtain, you hear a sibilant voice whispering (with the echoes of "The One" still nagging you, you are not 100% sure if the voice is audio, or psionic in origin): "Begone, fools! I have no time for the likes of you, so I give you this chance to leave before I destroy you!" (Barney: while the voice is troubling, Fife does NOT react to it at all.)
Kina: You find a cleverly concealed door in the north wall, just west of the set of double doors there.

Cade, using mental-speach, glances to each of his companions and says... "Something in here, going to check it out." He then steps into the curtained area.
Wil smiles and then laughs at the voice, “Let’s see, we’ve faced cultists, gnolls, zombies, wights, and an underground kraken…….. to name a few. And we’re still here.” His smile turns predatory, “I hope you brought your A game.” Finishing with a wolfish, “Bring it!” as he knocks an arrow.
Behind the curtains is a 20'x20' area, a single door in each of the east and west walls (you are coming in from the north), and a set of double doors to the south like those in the main room behind you. The eastern door is closed, but the western door (doorway would be more accurate) appears to have been blasted apart revealing a decaying mess inside.
You hear the voice again, "This is your last chance! Leave now or ELSE!" (Fife is still quiet, no threats detected.)
