OCC: If I might make a suggestion. I have another campaign thats been going for over a year on here. The way we do combat has been very succesful. It allows for strategy and still can move very quickly at times. Now this may be common among games but I 'm still suggesting it just incase. During non combat rounds there is no post order. Just like we've been doing. Once initiative has been rolled the DM posts the order. we each attack in turn. You have 24 hours from the previous post to post your action or at least notify the group of a problem. If you don't post with in the 24 hour time frame the next person in the order takes their turn and you have another 24 hours to post. This continues until you are the last left to post. If no post by the final 24 hour time limit you forfeit your turn. The clock resets after each post. The DM can interject as needed for results (like a foes death) which given the 24 hour time frame is usually not a big ask for the GM. Or not. It becomes the players perogative to wait for an out come or to continue with their turn. Considering the posting frequency we've already demonstrated I don't think it should be too stressful. Now some say this is too hard with different time zones but my group includes 4 time zones across multiple continents and as long as we have a little patience it works fine. The post clock indicates when a day has passed. I suggest this because I tend to be a strategy player as well and I find that the free for all format kind of makes the game devolve into an every person for themselves style or just simple I attack "roll" "damage" with not much room for imagination or cooperation. It also tends to lead to alot of edits because for example the fighter happened to be the first to repond before a cleric decided to bless him. Now you have to go back and recalculate the attack not to mention that maybe now the fighter wants to attack a different target because you have the bonus. The last GM I suggested this to seemed to think this would mean they had to be on all day but it doesn't. It only really requires everybody to check the thread once a day.
"Excuse me for a moment, gentlemen." Kina says after the creature is down. She clops off several feet and just starts bucking and flailing about, soundlessly screaming before she calms herself down enough to return to the group. "I hate bugs. *ahem* Did these wagons just come through this ruin regardless of the danger? It's like they don't even care if those they kidnap even make it to wherever they're going. They're just... bodies." she mutters, panting heavily. "Also, nice awareness there, numbskull." she says, patting the ox on the head. "You'd think that an animal would be more aware of a predator hanging about."

'Remember there are others in open door...' Cade says into the group's minds as they seem to relax after the battle with the spider thing. 'Shall I rush up there or do you want a stealthy approach?'
OOC: Agreed, great suggestion. I will enact that for our next combat. Strategy will become more import going forward, the first couple were more nuisance encounters. And as to the ox, well, dumb as an.... comes from somewhere, and the beast has not encountered threats previously so truly does not have a fear of the bear or spider unless directly threatened.
Recap: You stand in the gateway of what appears to be an old moathouse, the open courtyard before you, curtain walls to your left and behind you to the right. The ruined stump of a watchtower behind to your left. The building proper ahead of you, as well as to your right, forming an "L" shape, with the stairs up to the open doorway in the corner of the "L." There is a closed door to the tower directly in the corner to the left of the gate. The ox corral stands in the corner of the curtain wall and main building to your right. The wagon diametrically opposite to the ox.

Welcome to the Emporium of Mayhem! What sort of mischief do you seek today? Pyromaniac Wyldfyre searching for her place in the world.
Battle focused, Barnabus wastes no time moving to the tower door below where the spider appeared. Pressing against it, he tries to asses the strength of it and how easily it will be able to be break it should it be locked.
"Yeah lets see what's in here so we keep the surprises behind us to a minimum. Maybe you could help me out here with a well placed kick Kina?" He asks as he prepares to ram his shoulder to the door. The entire time he will be wary of the voices doorway.
The door is old but in relatively good shape. There is a handle on the outside and no sign of a lock. Hinges are on the outside, heavily rusted but the door opens toward you with little effort. The floor inside is littered with rubble, likely bits of what used to be the upper level. A handful of moldering bones poke out of the rubble here and there, as well as a handful of webbed bundles.
Barnabus:
An ever so faint waft of precious metals reaches your sensitive nose from inside.
Note: anyone without Darkvision is beginning to have trouble seeing more than just a few feet away
Bart hands a light candle to each of his team members to give them some light "Take this if you need it and stay close together, last thing we want is to be separated. Kina stay next to me as I feel safe by your side."

You see a dim light from inside the open doorway, as if an interior door to a lighted room was opened, then several figures moving through the light before it is gone again, as if a door was closed.
