Bowlder joins Droogan looking down. "Not much of a cliff." Someone forces his head back to look up. "That makes more sense."
Back to the present. Will listen to Burts talking to others, but not walk over there until more details are known.

Yordis doesn't seem to know where to start with this. He turns to Tilly and says "And I thought it would be the whore part of baby whore you'd have a problem with..." He then turns to the few other patrons saying "So I'm sure in the past there have been bar fights which spiral out of control because a stranger does something to upset you but as you can see, this may be one of those times where you quietly finish your drinks and then sit quietly for a few hours not causing any trouble - in fact free bar, help yourselves." Finally he turns to the man and says "So, as you can see things are a little tense here at the moment, you might want to think if in fact we are the people you would like jumping to your aid at this time.."

Droogan steps up to the edge and peers out off the cliff...
Or at least that's what he imagines. He'll be at the top looking down on this memory soon enough...
In the bar Droogan is surprised by Tilly's display. Seems like jumping to a fight is the best approach to a disagreement here. He step behind the bar and pours himself and the party some cheap ale (unless there's something worthwhile available) as the man continues.
(OOG: Sorry I've been out for a couple of days. Not sure how back in I'll be over the next few -- my whole family's sick, myself included, plus the holiday coming up.)
Valentinus takes the ale. Not his preference, but it'll do in a pinch. And this is definitely a pinch.
To the man: "I guess there's no chance your wife can be kidnapped tomorrow?" He downs an ale. To Yordis: "At least let's get the details before we turn him down."
Tilly wipes the charred flesh and soot off the shiny object. She sees that it's her locket and she turns away from the group. If anyone could see they'd see a tear slide down her cheek. If her eyes weren't closed they'd see them flash with a concentrated fire. She whispers under her breath: "Home again, safe and sound." She looks at the pictures inside and kisses them. She puts the locket on around her neck.
She wipes her face and turns to the group. Eyes now back to normal.
"Listen Burt, what the F@#$ kind of sales pitch is that? Anyone willing? You should say 'I need the baddest m@#$%##$ers this side of hell.' Then maaaaybe we listen. Maybe. But probably we do, because guys this F!@#er had my locket which means he is...sorry, was...chummy with whoever took me and probably us. So 1. really, F@#$ that guy. 2. we probably don't want to hang out here too long. Especially if that guy was the old woman's husband or son or friend or something. So Burt, who is the old F$#@?"
He is the fool tha' used ter run the place, guess you guys could have it now... Anyway, I want you to go on a rescue mission. If you succeed ther' may just be mj'ic Fer ya.
"Alright, Burt, come have a drink and tell us what we need to know before we get a move on."
Under the assumption that this town is sort of a debtor's prison, Droogan tries to find out how the place is run; if Burt knows a "dull faced old woman" who has some connection to the place; where his wife is; how is her rescue going to help us escape; what roll do guards play in these people's lives?
Also how big is this place. Mercenaries rest sounds like an inn but you don't get travelers passing through prisons. Someone search the place. Coins gear and food.
Thera neva bin a women in here fer years! Tha town itself is a meetin place Fer people involved in ta arena or those bad enough or desperate enough to do dealin's with 'em. Only way out is a tinny lift run by the owners of the pit. He lowers his voice but ia heard rumors of a tunnel outta here. So. Ya gonna help me or what?
Yordis takes a beer from Droogan, nodding in appreciation, sips it, grimaces at the taste but pushes on anyway.
Pointedly ignoring the man until he has finished his beer he then looks over to him and says "so tell us some more and we'll see if we think we can help or if we want to."

Well some time ago - oh, mabe 2 days ago? - she disapers. I tink they musta taken' her to der liar. well, i tink they must wanna sacrifice her or somfin! please help me! I have mjik items i cin give ya in repayment. just please bring my lady back to me!
Is this an inn or just a tavern? Are there rooms? Guests? Multiple levels? I've got a 20% stake in this business that doubles as our base of operations. We've got a decent inheritance here. Though we won't likely stick around long. We'll need an employee to run the place while we're out taking over/escaping. That guy will stand to make it easy once we are out of here (even easier than we took it. assuming we don't burn this whole pit to ashes)
Them guys that run the place up ther! Pointing in the direction of the arena. I found a secon-d-r-y? scend-a-r-i-e? whatever, they has another base in sim caves nearby. must be where thy tooker, townsfolk wouldn't lik 'er on the arena floor, town favorite she is...
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
'course I'm on board for the quest, but I'm not really buying the town fool hooked up with the Homecoming queen. Something fishy... (Insight: 12 This guy straight with us?)

Question slipped through a late edit. Can we get a description of the Mercenary's Rest? I'd let the rest of the party act before we move on anything.
