"So, how old are you? Not gonna lie, I don't really know much about bird people." Alexander asked Xing, trying to make small talk. He looked out over the field in front of him, his vision aided by the campfire.
OOC: Thoughts on us doing side conversations? I definitely don't want to slow the story itself down. Maybe we can create a secondary Topic for things like "campire chats"? That way our characters can get to know eachother, without slowing down the plot.
Xing holds up two fingers and then four fingers, and then moves them closer together to signal that he’s twenty-four. “Though you- kenku- age a lot faster than- a lot of people.-“

As Feng settles in for the night (He'd gladly stand watch, just timing the posts doesn't work out well lol), he is listening to Alexander and Xing talk.
"You might age faster but definitely don't grow bigger," he says with a grin. "How old are you, Alexander? Does time work different for your kind, too?"
OOC: I'm fine with sidebar conversations within the thread. Gives a chance for rp during between-post downtime.
"Tieflings age at the same rate as Humans, since our ancestry comes from them. I am only slightly older than our resident crow." He quipped, turning his head to look over at Feng. He smiled, two fangs slightly protruding from his lips. While his lineage might come from Humans, it tended to be hard for people to notice.
"How about you, oh large one. Do Goliaths make it to a hundred?" Alexander asked, while trying to keep an eye out for danger.
Xing looks him up and down and pokes his chest region, “You are at least- 100 years- by now.- Ki can sense the life of all creatures.- Death- soon.” Xing nods solemnly and pats Feng on the shoulder.

Alexander leans over to Xing, reading over the posters. He does his best not to roll his eyes, Xing being a little less mature than he had previously believed.
"There has to be easier ways to gain fame than hunting down a Demon Lord, I would think. Is that truly it?" He asked, hoping there was more to it.
OOC: Black, I think we're good to go whenever you are. Just making small talk.
Xing carefully puts away the posters, “Copycat.- That is what I am.- I want to be the one- to be- copied.- Why do you want this bloke’s head so bad?” Xing says as he plops into his bed nest.

"See, now that makes more sense. You want to be an individual, unique." He stated, leaning back a little and looking up at the night sky.
"Me? I made a promise to someone... something a while back. And I'm just holding up my end of the bargain." Alexander stated, turning his head to look back over at Xing. He winked, casting Thaumaturgy on the bird. Xing began to hear indistinct whispers in his ear, to quiet to decipher, but enough to be creepy.
"It speaks into my head." The Tiefling spoke, raising his arm and tapping his forehead with one of his claws.
Alexander chuckled as he listened to Xing, then reaching down and pulling a single blade of grass from the ground. He cast Light on it, the blade illuminating in a bright gold, which spread out about twenty feet.
"I'm a great negotiator. What makes you think I didn't get paid up front?" He asked, before ending the Light spell. He then looked back back out across the landscape, looking for anything that might be trying to sneak up on them.
The night echoes with the distant howling of beasts and the more immediate shuffling of heavy feet from the outpost. From the grove the party can see the green beam of light streaking up into the sky, energy twisting like snakes within and throughout the light. The night is peaceful and when the party decides to rest they can tell it will be an uninterrupted slumber to hopefully prepare them for whatever trials comes the next day. Donar still senses the odor but none of the others appear aware of it.
Alexander lets out a yawn as he wakes up in the morning, stretching his arms over his head as he sits up. He begins to pack up his sleep supplies, while quickly glancing around himself to make sure nothing looks out of place.
In the morning, Hadran hands everyone a Goodberry, and points out the pouch that has the remaining 6 berries.
"In combat, someone gets knocked down, force a Berry down their gullet to get 'em back on their feet... Or eat it before nightfall, when it goes stale."

"You know ... I have no idea. I'd imagine so, if they don't get killed first. Old and weak tribe members get exiled to keep the tribe strong."
Feng scratches his bald head.
"Actually, I'm not exactly sure how old I am, either. Probably late twenties? It's kind of a silly thing to keep track of when you think about it."
Xing looks him up and down and pokes his chest region, “You are at least- 100 years- by now.- Ki can sense the life of all creatures.- Death- soon.” Xing nods solemnly and pats Feng on the shoulder.

OOC: uhhh... I feel like Feng would remember if he was 100! But I'll give it a go :D
Insight: 14
OOC: HA! :D
Feng looks with a mixture of concern at Xing, and admiration at his own muscles.
"Wait, really? That can't be right ... I feel just fine. 'Specially for being a hundred years old!"
OOC: Ah more of a joke that he doesn’t keep track of years haha. If he doesn’t believe it, that’s up to him.
Edit: Curse the post delay haha!
“Trust me. I know things.”

Alexander watched the two talk, chuckling to himself as he did so. It was definitely an interesting group that had banded together.
"So we know why Feng is here, but why are you, Xing? I find it doubtful that it's just for the fun." He asked, hoping to learn more about the Kenku.
