“Well, of course the bathroom! I thought I told you and the crew never to speak of that in my presence! Hmmm...bad form indeed. That definitely dropped your score on this test. Is there anything else you’d like to share? For extra points on this test? Anything you think your captain should know. You know, something you and the crew may not want to tell me? It’s ok old boy. Your answers are completely anonymous.”
"Aw.." the smuggler's face droops at getting points marked down on a fake peer review he's not even aware he's getting. At the mention of his answers being completely anonymous, he looks around at the others. "Wot! But they heard the whole thing!"
“They’re noobies. They no better than to say anything. But if it makes you more comfortable..,” Archibald motions for the others to go back into the next cave. “Now, you were saying...”
Klaus starts back to the cave to satisfy the bandit’s request for privacy. He moves 30 feet towards the cave, keeping an eye on the bandit and Archibald.
Gracy nods decisively at the bandits last words, and then speaks to the rest of the team out of earshot of their captive. 'Alright, I think we've gotten all we can out of him. We're going to be outnumbered on the ship and they have a caster. Thoughts on a plan?'
He looks to each of the party members in turn, looking for any hesitation or concerns.
“Well, we could try to sneak on and just go HAM on them. We could try to use the old captain disguise, but I think there will be someone smarter than this guy who will see right through it. We could always try to sink the ship. Not sure how. Anyone got some special talents we could try to use?”
Klaus puts his chin to his mailed fist and muses: "Luring some of the crew onto the shore has weakened them somewhat. I doubt they will risk sending more crew members to investigate the fates of their fellows. They have a mage, we have a mage. Moreover, we have a doughty cleric and a monk whose specialty lies in slaying mages. If Zmeya can close on their wizard fast enough to render him inert, she and Gracy could deliver a coup de grace while Hiramat and I engage the cutthroats and lizardmen with the aid of mighty Wilmot. If the gods are kind, we may be able to seize the ship whole and intact!"
'Sinking the ship is likely beyond our capabilities my friend unless someone here has a skill or spell we haven't seen?'
As Kalus speaks, Gracy nods his head.
'I agree taking the ship would be a true boon to our little gang, and we have a reasonable chance of taking the ship. Hitting them hard and taking out the leaders might be enough to get the rest of the crew to surrender - especially if the Lizardmen are mere mercenaries.'
Absentmindedly stroking the side of his face, Gracy starts mumbling, almost as if he's arguing with someone
'Send a boat out with the lantern, maybe use it as cover for another boat approaching from a different direction? Splitting the party is risky....but would the surprise be worth the risk? Front-liners over the top while Z and I come in from the backside?'
Wilmot looks out at the rolling waves of the ocean, gulping a bit before he sighs. "To sea we go then?" he asks. "Then I'd suggest by cover of night. Perhaps 2 boats is a good plan, but splitting up is a risk...especially if only one of us has any seafaring capabilities." He lets out a long sigh, slapping his heavy armor with his hands. "And, even if I knew how to swim, with all of this I'll sink like a stone if something ill befalls our vessel."
With that said, the looming cleric mutters to himself and nods before speaking aloud. "However, you all have fared me well so far so I trust in your wisdom. If it is by sea that we end this, let it be done."

Hiramat looks down at his heavy armor, if he ends up in the drink, he'll be at the bottom before he can count to 3. "Well, I don't think Tempus would bring me this far only to drown me, so if we got on the water, I'll go fully loaded." He thinks for second "Two boats sounds risky, but might be the surprise we need to take out the smugglers, now we know who and what they've got on the boat"
“Should I try to stay in captain form while we approach just in case, or not waste some of my magical energies? By the way, if we can surprise them and get some clumped together, I feel fairly confident about roasting a bunch with a new spell. So what do you think? Disguised or not?”
Klaus considers Arcibald's suggestion of staying in disguise initially: "There may be a few who would sniff out your disguise sooner or later, but you may carry the ruse long enough to gain the element of surprise if you perform your sorceries sooner as opposed to later, Archibald. I would say keep up the ruse at least while we row our way out to the ship."
When the group is ready to board the boats, Wilmot chuckles and then begins humming slowly. As he does his visage changes, taking on the appearance of the smuggler they just interrogated albeit a bit taller and with a bit wider smile.
Firbolg Magic: You can cast detect magic and disguise self with this trait, using Wisdom as your spellcasting ability for them. Once you cast either spell, you can’t cast it again with this trait until you finish a short or long rest. When you use this version of disguise self, you can seem up to 3 feet shorter than normal, allowing you to more easily blend in with humans and elves.
“Ok, so I got about 20 minutes left in my new fashionable look. I can do it again, it will just drain me of some of my draconic powers. But I’m all about keeping up the charade for a surprise attack. I’m ready to go when you all are.”
"I would counsel striking while you still have the current spell in effect and save your powers for an assault on the boat or to confound the wizard on board", says Klaus.
Archibald rips of a piece of the silk material and wets it down with some water or wine. He then wraps its around a his next to feign a throat injury. “Maybe I can play off my voice with an injury I sustained while defending the booty.”
Klaus is in the water, so far undetected. The rest of you row up to the sea ghost. "'Ey. Where's the rest of the crew?" one of the crewmen ask. "And the goods?"
In a gravely voice. “Got in a run in with some more nosey villagers. They’re getting more curious or bold. Can’t really tell. They did do a number on a couple of the crew, but we took care of em. The booty got scattered in the fight in the cave. Tell ya what. You, you, and you, (Archibald points to three crewman) need to go back and repack it while I have my wounds tended to. Get in a boat and head that way. May want to take your time as not to draw attention from possible onlookers from the shore.”

Klaus sheepishly doffs his chain mail and dons the Mariner's Armor. "Just don't ask me to wield a trident, damn it."
