Archibald surveys the piles of bone. “Great job everyone! Truly a team effort. Back at the tavern I had heard tale of another adventuring party in a similar situation that lost at least one member. But not us.” He lightly taps the staff twice on the floor and smiles widely.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
To Zmeya, the fight has not concluded. Habitually thorough in her work, she proceeds to pulverize the sternum of each and every skeleton, ensuring their harmlessness, before glancing around the room, ensuring their temporary safety. Perception - 21
"We created noise. These skeletons likely didn't make those tracks we see above. I'm hurt, and so are many of you - I suggest we catch our breaths before we're overwhelmed."
Archibald looks over to the monk “Ya...um...you’re thorough with your work aren’t chuh? Well before we take a rest maybe we should take a gander behind door number 1 eh?” He gestures to the door the alchemist came out of and casts mage hand.
The secret door opens toward you to reveal a clutter of broken glass and earthenware piled on the floor beyond. Three small copper pots lie amid the debris. A bench runs down the west wall of what seems to be a laboratory. On the bench are jars of powders and liquids and several pieces of chemical apparatus. There is a table against the south wall, forming an L-shape with the bench. A book is open on the table.
Also on the table is a candlestick, with a tiny stump of unlit candle still in it, and a variety of other items that, even in the dim light, shine with the warmth of pure gold. One of these objects looks like a human skull.
“Hoohoo..another book. I’m going to have a nice library if this keeps up.” Archibald sends the mage hand over to retrieve the book. “However....” as he sees the skull and sends the mage hand over to retrieve it instead.
Klaus looks to Gracy: “Suffice it to say, you are quite the tactician. Lord Helm can afford me one more use of his divine sense ere I rest to regain my powers. Do you think ruling out that skull for being more than ghoulish decoration warrants it?”
Gracy stows his bow and carefully approaches the skeleton room strewn with the remnants of their broken foes. Passing through the detritus he catches the monks' eye as she scans for any further threats and indicates with the slightest eye movement that she should cover their rear as he moved into the lab.
Laying a hand on Archie's shoulder, the thief speaks up 'Ho there my eager friend, plenty of time to collect the spoils once we're sure all is safe. Give me a bit of help in searching this room for anything hidden or dangerous, eh?'
Investigation with [action] Help [/action} from Archie: 18
Hearing Klaus' booming voice behind him, Gracy shakes his head ever so slightly 'Let us try more conventional measures first I think - we may have a need for that ghoulish radar of yours again as we explore further into this mansion.'
Wilmot looks about the lab, shaking his head. He takes a big breath, leaning hard on his staff while sighing. He turns to each of his companions, watching their movements and excitement. At last, he blurts out. "So is no one going to even mention that we just battled a bunch of walking dead? I mean, maybe, just maybe, that's a common thing where you all are from, but not me," he lets out an awkward chuckle. "Sure, I've heard the tales and rumors, but I never really believed them. I prefer the stories where the dead stay dead." He looks about gauging everyone else's reaction. "So no big deal?" He sighs. "Ok, then."
The firbolg gathers himself a bit and begins pacing about the laboratory, making a piss-poor effort to appear as if he is being useful, but all the while muttering a quiet prayer to Fharlanghn while absent-mindedly fingering his holy symbol, a disk with a curved line representing the horizon, and an upturned crescent above that.
"I know, Dweller, that you call on us to travel to experience the wonders of the worlds -- 'Life is a journey. Experience is thine reward.' However, I believe I could do without these treasures," he mutters, casting glances about and hoping no one else notices too much how shaken he is after his first true battle with something more than a brigand on the road.
At last, he stops, looking to the others, the smile having returned to his face and the facade of confidence back in place.
'I'm afraid we're all still in a bit of shock my furry friend, but no, I've never seen the like of this in person either.' toeing a pile of once animated bones with his boot he continues 'But I'm more curious about the racks of bunks in the other room. From what I've heard the undead need no rest - meaning they don't have much use for beds either. I'm not sure we've unraveled the mystery of this manor quite yet.'

Klaus positions himself near the door where he can see inside as much as possible when Archibald opens it.
Wilmot nods and readies himself.
