“Hear, hear!” says Klaus with a groan, voicing his assent. He Lays Hands on himself for 5 points, then asks in a stronger, clearer voice: , “Lord Helm has afforded me the power to heal myself a bit and the rest of you. Who needs healing?”
Gracy, panting looks about, waiting for the next wave of frogs. Seeing nothing else coming, he relaxes ever so slightly. 'I'll take some of Lord Helm's blessings, my friend. And I'm happy to head back for a rest, but I think we should see if these things left a den of any sort behind, Zemya - will you Help me check there back trail?'
The rogue moves to check the trail from the King Bullyfrog, looking to see if he can discern which direction they came from.
Wilmot plops onto the ground without even considering a debate. His ribs ached and a big bruise was forming on his shoulder. Pulling out his pipe and placing some herb in it, he mutters, "It's not a discussion, friends, I need to tend to my aches and pains." Pointing to the sleeping frogman, he adds. "Best bound him or ready to give him his orders, Cap'n Archie. He won't sleep long."
If not interrupted, Wilmot will short rest. (Two hit die used: 12)
"Ho ho! Nice Zmeya. Didn'tk now you could bring life as well as destroy it. Thank you very much." Archibald keeps an eye out as we start our short rest.
Gracy bows his head as he feels the life force flow back into him through Klaus.
'Thank you my friend, and many thanks to Lord Helm for his blessings as well.'
After clearing and cleaning his blade, the thief shifts back to his crossbow and continues to poke around the edges of the ambush site looking for any sign of the Frogs nesting ground or what might have triggered the attack.
Scattered among the bodies are 325pp and a Helm of Underwater Action. From here, you can short rest and you see two paths going deeper into the swampy marshland - PATH C or PATH D. Check the map in Discord.
There's no sign of any nest or encampment, simply an ambush point.
“Well according to our map we have two options. What appears to be the front door (door C) or maybe the back door (D). I say if we’re trying to be sneaky we take the ole rear entrance. What do you fellas and gal think?”
Klaus drinks a potion of healing, wary that a rest may not be forthcoming. 8
"'Captain', I think we would be well served by retiring to the ship for a rest of however long we can take, if this froggy fiend can be sufficiently bound and gagged."
Klaus looks around and says, "Speak now or forever hold your peace, but if no one else needs healing, Zmeya, I would be glad to receive it. Fighting overgrown frogs is tiresome business."
Hiramat is intrigued by the shiny helm, he looks around at his companions and points to it "anyone want it?" "While I may be injured, I've got a few tricks up my sleeve, Klaus, you need the healing more than I" he says.
He looks at the captured frog-man, "perhaps he speaks common, maybe we can get a better lay of the land from him?"
Gracy chuckles as the heavy hitters roll off for the helm. 'Alright boyos. Lets' suit up and push on. What should we do about Kermit here? Bring him with us or send him back to the ship?'
"I'd say have him stay here and clean up this mess. He could also be a look out just in case anyone else wonders onto this part of the island. I'd imagine he could outpace most threats to catch up to us and let us know."
"I say we take him along and teach him Common," Zmeya rasps, applying a slap of healing on Klaus. She sympathizes with the poor little frog - she'd abandoned her previous life on a boat, and it was difficult to not see the similarities between her story and the frogs. "Are we trying to be sneaky? If so, the back entrance sounds preferable."
Wilmot looks unconvinced at the frogman before shrugging. "Likely, he'll knife us in the back first chance he gets, but by Mephostopheles mangy man parts, what's life without a little suspense." Having tended to his wounds, the towering cleric stands and nods toward Zmeya and Gracy. "I think a back entrance is best, though..." he motions to his armor and those of his dice-rolling allies, "...I don't know that stealth is our strong suit."
Exhaling the last of his pipe smoke into the face of Archibald, he mutters, "Captain, may the Dweller guide your moves as we prepare for battle."

NIGHT NIGHT KERMIT
Gracy16, Klaus14, Archibald14, Bullywug1(13)(AC15/HP11), Wilmot4, Hiramat4, Zmeya
Rolling it's eyes, the last Bullywug flops to the floor, sound asleep.
Combat is over.
A noise is heard, like in a videogame, announcing an addition to your inventory. "+1 Bullywug crewmember"
“Oh what? Really?! I was kidding. But ok!”
Archibald looks at their new green seaman.
“So? Take him back to the ship so we can show him tne ropes while we rest up?”
“Hear, hear!” says Klaus with a groan, voicing his assent. He Lays Hands on himself for 5 points, then asks in a stronger, clearer voice: , “Lord Helm has afforded me the power to heal myself a bit and the rest of you. Who needs healing?”

Survival with Help from Z: 16
Klaus sheathes his long sword, drops his shield and lays both hands upon Gracy's shoulders.
"May the vigilance of the Ever Vigilant grant you strength, Gracy."
Klaus expends 5 points of his Lay On Hands pool to restore 5 of Gracy's hp.
Zmeya spits on the ground. Those frogs tasted horrible. Weren't they eaten somewhere? Fraerunce, no? Who knows. She helps Gracy with locating tracks.
"I'm pretty tired. Shall we rest for an hour or so before continuing on? I can provide a minor amount of healing before and afterwards."
A free 7 points of healing towards anyone who wants it! After that Zmeya would appreciate a short rest to restore Ki points!

Klaus produces a many-sided die and rolls it in front of Hiramat. "Beat that and the helm is yours!"
