Usul chuckles as all the names come out, and quietly says, half to himself, "Sil, Syl, Kal, Vel, Usul. Ell ell ell ell ell." Then, as they begin to head out, looking up to Syl with a 'y' adds, "Did you fight off any of things the last couple days here? We must have just missed you when we headed out. The roads are dangerous! Glad ya made it in alright!
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Looking pleased with herself, Sybil bids farewell to the group, turning towards the bar herself and a little loudly asking for a dwarven whiskey.
Heading out to the city's east gate, it doesn't take you long to find a large grouping of the distinctive tracks left by the more ferocious undead you've fought. Although somewhat humanoid looking, their toes seemed to form three large talons that sink in the ground. With the help of Velyra, Kal is able to lock onto a pair quite easily, following it to the northeast. Thirty minutes later you find yourselves well among the trees. Much to the knight's confusion, the trail suddenly goes cold they enter into a clearing. The tracks seeming to disappear altogether.
Over the next ten minutes, Sylona goes through the ritual to cast Detect Magic. As she completes the cast, an aura of illusion magic immediately fills her vision in the center of the clearing. There is a sloped tunnel leading underground from the clearing, covered by an illusion that appears like normal grass.

Silthras sighs inwardly, cursing the cruelty of the world, but takes solace in the knowledge that the inn carries his the whiskey he so craves. She'd better not drink it all.
As they near the clearing, he stops and waits for Kal to find the tracks again. When he doesn't, he remains away from the trackers and calls out, "Look for any other tracks too, maybe human. If there are any, can you tell how old they are?"
With the illusion revealed, as Kal passes a hand through it, the ground becomes translucent to everyone. The tracks disappear into the tunnel, descending into darkness. There are no other tracks present, human or otherwise.
"Into the tunnel. Your portal will most probably be in there. It must go quite deep though." Sylnora glances at the others hestitantly. She seems to be waiting for someone else to go first."My spell will hold for about ten minutes."
Velyra nods, and taps a bracelet on her hand while casting the Light spell for the benefit of those without darkvision. "Well we've come this far, are we going to be taking the portal back or were we just trying to find it?"
She doesn't wait for an answer, but forges ahead into the tunnel, holding her wrist up to light the way.
"Thanks for that,"Kal says quickly to Velyra before descending into the tunnel with her. "If we're going back, I'd like to have grabbed more explosives from that arcanist first. I want to bring that entire room with the platforms down. I don't see how else we could disable them."
The tunnel is about fifteen feed wide, and goes further down at a gentle slope forty feet in. There are an uncountable number of those tracks leading in. Long before you reach the end, Syl would see a faint glow of orange, as the conjuration magic of the teleportation platform pulsed in an aura.
Nodding to himself, Usul sends his feathered furry friend through the portal as he's done so many times in the last couple days, pulling him back again less than a minute later, just to check that this portal does, in fact, go to the same place.
(assuming it does) "Now that we've found it, what's the plan? We know you'd like to explore more Vel. We wanna crack at those damn cabinets again... And once we boom the platform that'll be the end of coming back no?" Usul says to the group.
"Well, I think we'll be able to go back to the ruins proper. It would just have to be the long way, through the mines outside Feycrest." Velyra says, watching the bubbling liquid of the platform. "We could always go through for a quick check of everything. Open up more of those cabinets, then return again tomorrow with more firepower."
Silthras looks unconvinced by the talk of explosives, "Why blow any more things up at all? The platforms are only a problem if the clawed ones can dig through tons of collapsed rock. If they can do that, then they can uncover the platforms. Or build more -- we don't even know who built them, though perhaps Syl might have an opinion."
"Better to get people more powerful that ourselves to ... monitor ... the platforms from a distance - or station guards there."
"Besides, one platform may yet lead us nearer to the enemy."
(( Depending on the time of Day, Silthras would be very happy to return and open more of the compartments, then return to Silverfair when dusk approaches ))
"Well, I was thinking the explosives would also destroy the platforms."Kal says with a shrug, he doesn't seem dead-set on his suggestion. "I don't like the idea of leaving them functional. I suppose we could always leave that decision up to the leaders in Silverfair though."
As they all seem to be coming to an agreement, Velyra will turn to their newest member with a raised eyebrow. "Want to see some really old stuff that'll blow your mind?' On the matter of how to permanently deal with the teleportation room, she offers "not many problems I've had that couldn't be solved with concussive force. But I think there is some wisdom in at least bringing it to that Sybil for an opinion."
While the others were discussing some matter above her head, Syl would have gone over to the platform and crouched down. Looking over the device, she would try to discern as much about as she could, give what she's learned so far.
Arcana: 19
Regardless of whether or not she finds anything out, she'll respond to Velyra's question with a tentative smile."I can't really say no to that I suppose. How do you go through it?"
Sylnora isn't able to glean much from the teleportation platform - the nerves of being out like this for the first time, putting her skills to use while being cutoff from the enclave just seems to have gotten to her.
The others step up, stepping onto the platform one at a time and motioning for their new companion to do the same. The bubbling liquid in the center boils over the edge, spreading across the floor and climbing the walls. As it reaches the roof of the tunnel it forms a bubble and contracts, engulfing all of you. There is that now familiar(or unfamiliar to Syl) sense of falling through an endless void, before you catch yourself with solid ground beneath your feet.
You find yourselves this time in the hub room, with all of the other platforms. At the end opposite the now collapsed stairs, the arcane gateway leading into the ruins still stands open.
Silthras nods at Kal's and Velyra's suggestions. "Good enough. Could be very valuable to the miners."
Back in the now familiar and, he hopes, safe, vault room, Silthras relaxes a little. He settles down to help Usul with the boxes, hopefully also with guidance from Velyra.
(( I suggest we just go slow as before; if they can work on two different boxes at the same time, then even better. The maximum conceivable result for Silthras is 23+Guidance, where as Usul can hit 27 + Guidance))
(I've gone back to read about you guys being in here before. So outside of this room, you go through some portal-like-gate into another room, with an orb sustaining it? I'd like to investigate that if I can. Also if my Detect Magic is still up can I know the school?)
Sylnora shivers as the sensation ends, letting out a small gasp."I. Did. Not. Like. That." Shaking the feeling from her bones, she takes a look at the unfamiliar architecture around them, a bit awestruck. Though she doesn't want to stray too far from the others, anything magical in nature draws her attention quite profoundly.
If they need help with anything, she's more than happy to provide it.

Dib passes through the portal and returns shortly thereafter, passing on images of the platform hub to Usul.
