"We'll try to get you back in time for your beauty sleep this time then,"Kal teases before turning back to the task at hand.
"It sounds like we have the start of a plan then. Head to the temple, check out the house, hopefully Kaz contacts us at some point and then into the tunnels?"
Purple is the temple. Yellow is where you found the entrance to the tunnel. Red is the house that was robbed.
Conceivably, Velyra can find her metric asston of incense in that same ward while you go investigate whichever house it is you're most interested in. We'll make it quick. Just tell me what kind of things you're looking for and how you plan to get in, and who all is going in.
So not really on the way, by the look of it. Usul may not be willing to go in during the day anyway, but if he is then it *should* be quick, maybe? Perhaps while Velyra shops?
Things Silthras is interested in:
Unopened crates
Stuff from crates that looks different to what they already have (perhaps just one or two things from each other crate that has stuff left)
Other people probably have other ideas; up to Usul how he plans to get it, but Silthras can help with an illusion if necessary.
Silthras says to Velyra, "Perhaps while you get he supplies you need, the rest of us should go to the residence, and all meet at the temple in an hour or two?"
We'll make it quick. Just tell me what kind of things you're looking for and how you plan to get in, and who all is going in.
Usul's plan for this would be to get close to a wall and blink Dib in then plop down on the side while he directs the little rodent through the house first scouting for life. If there is no life he might sneak in as well, mostly curious to check the artifacts that were in display cases ((and take any that remain, though that seems unlikely)).
"That sounds workable to me. I imagine you might take longer than I. I'll wait outside the temple for you all." Velyra says, not overly eager to walk into what is potentially enemy territory all on her own.
Sylnora shuffles on her feet, listening to the plan. "I'm hesitant to use any of my spells like I did yesterday if we're going back into the tunnels. I want to be fully prepped for whatever is going to be down there."
With a plan in front of you, the party once again sets off from the Belerac manor. As you're leaving this time however, Jalen catches you on the way out. "I tracked down Eva, that collector I was telling you about. She's here in the city right now - actually preparing to throw a bit of a function tomorrow night. I've got invitations for you if you're interested in going." He says, handing the nearest of you a stack of five envelopes. "Like I said, could be nothing...But with how frantic you've all been since you got here, I figured you were chasing down every lead you could." If there's no further conversation, he gets out of your way. "Good luck. Let me know if you need anything."
From there, you head out to the neighboring Graystone Ward again. Velyra splits off to find a shop that sells incense(which she easily finds. Purchase as much as you want and deduct the gold. We'll say it takes her about 45 minutes to get all of this done then reach the temple grounds.), while the rest of you head back to the robbed house. Setting up in the alleyway again, Usul pops Dib inside for a quick peak around. The little weasel does two full circuits of the place, squeezing under doors to get around. He doesn't finding any signs of someone currently being there.
Blinking back to the world around him, Usul snaps and Dib appears back on his shoulder. He looks towards whomever followed and said, "We're gonna check inside. We can message if we find something."He then heads to the bathroom window that he opened last night to see if it's still unlocked ((he never relocked it)). If it's not he'll report that first before going in.
It is indeed still unlocked, as you left it. Quickly, so as to be unseen, you open the window and crawl through. You look around the foyer on the main floor, and find the display cases are all empty as you would expect. The thieves completely stripped this room, save for the books. Heading upstairs to the other display room, you find all of the crates have been opened, but some of them still have things in them. Seems they left in a hurry once you made your move.
Taking a quick glance through them, it's more of the same really. A few have some really old daggers and shortswords, but they're weathered to the point of being unusable as a weapon. They look like they were really fancy when they were first made, but clearly they were not kept in area to prevent the elements from damaging them. Besides that, there's some more stone tables with draconic depictions on them, some simple jewellery, a few fossilized scales. Things of that sort.
After securing her large purchase of incense, Velyra will head back into the Council Ward wait on the steps on the Crystal Sanctum temple for the others. She keeps an eye out while she stands though, looking to see if Clayus passes by or anyone else that might catch her eye.
Clayus doesn't walk by as you wait on the temple steps, but you do see other obvious members of the temple. Their robes denote their specific faith quite clearly, and in the time frame you wait for, I would say you see all but a few faiths represented walk in or out at one point. You do notice that some of these priests/priestesses seem to be fatigued almost. Their faces look to be somewhat gaunt, and you can see the beginnings of dark circles forming under their eyes.
While they wait around outside for Usul to finish exploring inside again, Kal thumbs the invitations given to them by Jalen. "Is this something we even have time to waste on?"
Usul pockets most of the simple jewelry and then sends a message out saying, "They pretty well cleared it out. We're gonna check one last thing before heading out." He then will head to the study (room 8). He'll shove a bunch of the books from the desk, which seem specifically focused on this point in history, in his bag as well as look around ((16)) for any letters or stationary of any type which might say who this house belonged to or any shipping manifests or anything of that like and again, just shove it all unceremoniously into his bag to sort through later. Afterwards he'll sneak out back through the bathroom window to join the others.
Silthras stares at the invitation a moment, "This early it's nhard to tell what's a waste of time and whats not. But archaeology...that seems to be the key."
"I'd like to find the shards of Kor, and we need to find the sites of the other watchers."
When he mentions Kor he frowns, and next time Usul contacts them he asks if there's anything resembling a broken shard of a larger blade.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
This stuff is old, you estimate you could probably get 9 silver pieces at a regular jewelry store, but figure you could probably get more if you find the right person. In addition to the books he dumps in the bag, Usul is able to locate some things that look like personal correspondence and shipping requests. With that done, he heads back downstairs and into the bathroom, hopping out through the window to rejoin the others.
With this task done, your group heads back towards the Council Ward. The Crystal Sanctum comes into view as you head through the inner courtyard of the ward. Large crystalline pillars hold up the the roof of this grand marble temple. The pillars contain carved depictions of various myths or stories of members of the pantheon, which become more evident as you ascend the staircase to the temple’s entrance. You find Velyra standing at top of the steps, having arrived about fifteen minutes before you.
(( On the assumption that casting spells in public (or in a temple) is likely to attract attention -- and this may be a completely invalid assumption -- Silthras would cast his spell somewhere a little private before entering the complex ))
Silthras seems to preen himself in an odd ritualistic fashion as he chants alien words that seem laden with potential. When he is done, he seems somehow a little more impressive than is usual. Noone would have thought such a thing possible.
His all-too-perfect brow seems furrowed in concentration, but rather than marring his features it serves to highlight the sense of presence.
"Let's go then." Velyra will keep a particular eye out for temple members wearing cloth that identifies them as Amah worshippers, directing the group towards them. "I'll catch up with you all later." While they handle that, she will slip away to find a more private place for prayer, to make her appeal to the Howling Lord for assistance.

Sylnora narrows her eyes at Kal, frustrated that she's still too tired to come up with a meaningful reply. "Well." She huffs. "You better."

"Shall we" ask Silthras, as the peculiar glow seems to leave him. Perhaps it was just a trick of the light.
