The rest of the body is completely submerged in underneath water that has been rendered an opaque red by blood, with one hand holding the kerchief to his face, Silthras grabs a hold of the wrist and with a quick yank the corpse out up to its torso. The naked body of a male tiefling flops over the side of the tub, bloody water dripping from him off to the floor. Similar to the woman, his eyes have been taken and the sockets burned black. As you pulled him out of the tub, it looked like there were additional wounds on his chest - carvings almost. On his back, a phrase in a language you don't recognize has been sliced into the skin: 'Da haf wyyc Mah?'
Looking through the pile of black clothes on the floor, Velyra is able to pull a pair of thieves tools off the belt, a dagger similar to the one found earlier, and a small amulet depicting a large moon crossing in front of a pointed sun, easily recognizable as a symbol of the god Ambriel.
Note: The script is Common, but phonetically the words make no sense in Common.
Seeing the carved message into the back, Kal shakes his head and moves back towards the door again. Nothing has attacked them yet, but he intends to be ready the entire time they're in the mansion. "It looks like you might be right Velyra. Mutilations like this...It's either a lone psychopath or a cult."

Silthras reads the phrase and turns to Velyra, "'Da haf wyyc Mah?' Perhaps ask your new friends what it means. Ask them also to describe their contact, so we can look for the body."
He then looks more closely for anything else associated with the body, enlisting Velyra's aid if possible. Was there a struggle? Bruising? Jewelry? He pulls up his sleeve to find the bath outlet to empty out the opaque water, and see if it hides anything.
Investigation: 6 (extra roll if someone helps 3)
"Matching armour, one in bed, one in the bath...the mysteries mount up."
Not really watching to get involved in the stench, and keeping to the door just looking in, when he sees Sil about to put his hand into the water he calls out “Wait!”And quickly casts a mage hand to drain the water for him instead. Then copying Sil’s idea, perfumes and pulls up a bandana around his face and goes in to help (using his mage hand more than his own if possible).

"I'll be sure to fit that into the conversation in the morning, the stone's all used up for now. I wonder how many more we're going to find." Velyra says, walking back over to the tub with the others.
If you'll still allow, Velyra would guide Silthras on his investigation. Roll: 4
While Usul's mage hand pops out the drain plug, sending the bloody water swirling down the drain, Silthras flips the body over and begins to look it over. Moments after starting, his eyes wander to the carved symbols on the chest, cut in jagged lines, almost like runes...With a start, he realizes their nature just before they begin to glow with a deep purplish light. Letting off a warning to his companions, he scrambles back away from the corpse. Usul manages to dash to the far wall, but Velyra and Silthras are not so quick.
The space above the tiefling's body tears open to a black void that quickly expands. Usul and Kal see the void expand into an opaque black sphere that goes out to 20 feet in all directions, stopping when it hits a wall. Near the door, Kal is just on the radius of this sphere, while Usul is a safe 10 feet away on the west wall.
As Velyra and Silthras are engulfed by the black void, they are blinded and take 8 points of cold damage as their body heat seems to flow out of them. A cacophony of soft whispers in unknown languages breaks out around them, sometimes seeming both impossibly far and right beside them at the same time.
Kal shuts the door behind him as chaos breaks loose in the bath house, intending to slow down anything that might try and come through from the hall. Hearing Silthras cry out, he replies. "It's not the entire room. Follow my voice."
He moves away from the effect's area, towards the west wall where Usul is.

Usul blinks as his vision fades, but quickly returns. Seeing his companions stumble around and cry out, he says, “Are you hurt? Does anyone know what in the hells happened?!”Then going out into the hallway quickly looks around to see if there is any other danger. ((Perception 20))
Silthras stops when he finds the solidity of the wall, and turns in the direction of Usul's voice, "Runes...the runes were a magical trap. I've seen such things before, but... ", a bitter laugh escapes him, "...never been on the receiving end. Sometimes the effects wear off...sometimes not."
He sighs, then starts to feel for wounds but realizes the damage was some dark, soul-sapping, magic rather than physical. "Was anyone else hurt?"
Elvish curses pierce the black void as it fills up their side of the room as the trap catches Velyra by surprise. Following Kal's voice and Silthras' footsteps, she exits out behind the half-elf shortly after. "I did not enjoy that, nor expect it."
"On a different day, I could help us find these things before running into them...But I wasn't prepared this time."
The dissonant whispers stop as two emerge from the void space, joining Kal and Usul. After peaking out the door into the hallway, Usul would not find any signs of imminent danger. No figures shifting in the shadows, nor any soft footsteps trying to approach unheard. The magical effect sits silently in the room, a blank nothingness that appears an opaque black from the outside. After a minute, the blackness rushes inwards, as if being sucked back in through the tear it formed from before disappearing completely.

Silverfair
Met with Sybil, learned that the regular undead that plague the region have dramatically risen in number. In addition, they have been joined by a new deadlier form of undead creatures, capable of turning their victims into undead as well.
Received a bag of explosives from the arcanist Elixyr, for blowing the mines if need be.
Left for the nearest mining settlement Feycrest. While on the road, discovered a slain runner with his throat slashed and eyes burned from the sockets. The runner was carrying messages from Feycrest councilman Paten Elway. Collected in the messages were correspondence between himself and the Baroness of Silverfair, as well as a desperate plea for help to King Lidae, the political leader of the entire Silvershard Region.
Feycrest
Upon arriving in Feycrest, you found it completely overrun with undead. Councilman Paten had rounded up the few survivors that remained and barricaded themselves in an inn. You picked up a few rumors from the folk here, eventually deciding to follow up on one.
A little girl mentioned seeing people run to a large manor on the southwest part of town. You found undead patrolling around the manor.
Inside, you've found two corpses that met similar fates to the runner you found on the road to Feycrest. One with a message carved into the back in a language you aren't familiar with.
While investigating the corpse, an arcane glyph trap was set off that briefly filled the room with a blank, black void, damaging and temporarily Velyra and Silthras.
Now
Warily, Silthras moves back to the corpse to finish his investigation. Going over the corpse, it's bare of any jewelry or bruising. The only two wounds are the missing eyes, and the gash across its neck. There are no signs of a struggle. Either the tiefling let this happen to himself, or he was taken completely by surprise.
The rest of the tub is empty, save for the red stains of blood leading down the drain.
"I doubt that's the end of our troubles in this manor," Kal says. His hands begin to glow with a soft light as Silthras moves over to finish his investigation of the corpse. If he or Velyra need/want healing, he'll burn through however much of his Lay on Pools hand is needed to get them back to full strength.
"From now on we need to be more careful when we enter rooms or look over things. Maybe keep an eye for more of those glyphs?"

Silthras nods to Velyra, "At least one more is my guess: I can't see this one having a bath after laying out the other one. But I could be wrong."
With Usul's help and Velyra's guidance that brings the investigation to 20.

Silthras cries out, his hands moving instinctively to his eyes. "I'm blinded!"
He stumbles backwards, away from the bath and in what he believes to be the direction of the door.
"Help, I can't see..." he says, still rubbing at his eyes. "How ... can anyone?"
Kal shuts the door behind him as chaos breaks loose in the bath house, intending to slow down anything that might try and come through from the hall. Hearing Silthras cry out, he replies. "It's not the entire room. Follow my voice."

Hearing no sounds of fighting, Silthras utters a quiet prayer, his hands running over his own body, trying to restore life and warmth, and hoping it may restore his sight.
HP: 11
Once outside of the area of effect, Velyra and Silthras were no longer blinded. Sorry, I forgot to mention that.
Once his eyesight is restored, and the void disappeared, Silthras will approach the bath again cautiously, and resume his examination.
