The bed has in light blue coverings and pillow casings - not particularly masculine or feminine. The outfits likewise, and are a mix between distinctly feminine clothing and more androgynous pieces. If they were adept at disguising themselves, they could probably pass off as whatever gender they wished. You are able to notice that the clothes are not human-sized. Larger than anything a gnome would wear, but smaller than any human or elf.
"Are we going to try upstairs, or do we want to force our way through that basement door?" Kal asks, ready to take point on whichever direction they choose. "I think we should take the second floor first. The house has been quiet...But I don't want anything coming up behind us while we're down there."
Returning to the foyer, you make your way up the stairs to the second floor. The floorboards groan with each step you take, and you quickly find yourselves at the top. A wooden railing runs along in an oval shape around the perimeter. Velvety red carpet runs around the protective railing, and you can see about this large room stretches out about fifty feet to the west. The first thing you would notice is a sort of altar. Atop a carved rectangular marble pedestal stands a shining sort of plate armor, with a decorative violet plume extending out of the helmet. It holds a greatsword, point stuck into a slot in the marble pedestal. It is flanked on each side by stone, holding lanterns made up of a lightly frosted glass.
Across on the other side of the room, you can see a fireplace flanked by two loveseats, a pile of wood scattered across the ground. To the left of the suit of armor is another table, which holds a finely made shortsword inside a locked glass case.
A door to the southwest leads out to a deck exposed to the outside. There is another door to your immediate right, and just above that a hallway leading east. There is also a doorway on the far west wall.
Kal takes a suspicious glance down the hall to their right before approaching the armor-bearing altar, glancing up at the suit of plate with a smidge of envy. "I take it the Redvales were warriors of some kind. Or at least appreciated them."
Silthras nods, "Indeed. So...we have a rich owner, who left a long time ago...did they leave the package in the flour? Why did they leave their journal...if it is theirs..the owner must have been planning to come back..."
He glances down and in the direction of the bathroom, "The bodies...can't be the owner...can they?" he glances around at his companions, confusion plain on his face. "The owner would have retrieved the parcel I think. And the woman...she seemed to have been laid to rest by someone. The bather? They wore similar armour."
"Gods! I have no idea!" he shakes his head again, as if to clear it.
Still frustrated, he turns his attention back to the armour and the sword, examining them more closely, "What do you make of these, Velyra? The sword seems special..."
"I have a working theory for what's going on here, I think." Velyra says, hoping to allay the half-elf's frustrations. "The package in the flour...the journal...the bodies. I think that group found something in the mines, and they were using this manor as a sort of staging ground while they investigated it." She follows his gaze back down the stairs, "and whatever they found investigated back it would seem, in a rather gruesome manner."
"As for the manor's previous owners...I don't know how they fit into this. It does seem odd that they would leave so much behind."
She'll look over the armor and sword, though not quite sure what she should be looking for(I don't know what check is relevant here). If Usul wishes to try and pick the lock on the glass case, she'll guide him.
Seeing the others look over the shiny things in the case, Usul gets the feeling the others actually want to get into this case. Happy to ‘help,’ he walks over to the case, and says, “This looks very well made. Perhaps it will give us a hint as to the owners?” He then pulls out his picks and tries to open the case.
Lock pick - 13, (if adv 7); + guidance: 3 —— seems I forgot to add the +7 to the second roll... please do that.
The armor is a set of full plate. I'm not sure what you're trying to discern about the sword and plate. You can easily tell without a skill check that they're: a) the real deal b) exceptionally well made
As Usul sets to work on picking the lock, it appears at first that it won't budge for him. As he's about to give in however, a cylinder inside the lock clinks into place, and he's able to move forward and disarm the lock. The blade widens in the middle length briefly before tapering off, and you can see faint lines of a lighter blue metal cracked along the length. Black leather wraps around the hilt, with a depiction of the sun on the pommel. As you pick up the short sword, you swear it gives off a faint glow in the dimmer light of this room...
(( Siltras was hoping it was Half-plate, preferably mirhral ;-) -- the last set was a hodge-podge, iirc. Also, given the value, there's the possibility of traps ))
"I still find it strange that all of these valuables were left behind. Do you think maybe the Redvales were forced out suddenly instead of leaving voluntarily?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

((Ahh, I see. If you want to investigate something specific such as traps, make sure you say so. In this case, no, your face does not get blown off my a magic trap ;) ))
The symbol on the pommel isn't something you've seen before, either in the manor or elsewhere out in the world. The pommel itself is the color of steel, but the eight-pointed sun has been embossed in gold.
“This is a nice blade,” Usul says, as he places it back in the case for any to take. “But we’re fine staying in the dark.” He then starts moving around the room towards the doors, stopping at each for he and dib to listen/smell through, to see if there is any more death (or life), behind any of them.
Usul perception 15 dib: 22 - passive 18
((really nice blade if anyone in melee needs magic damage.))
Kal shakes his head, turning away from the plate. "It wouldn't feel right. Armor like that...It needs to be earned."
He watches Usul and his magical weasel scurrying around the landing. If they find nothing obvious, the knight will cross the room to go through the westernmost door.
Silthras looks from the paladin to the armour and back, "The owner is dead, probably undead and in the basement. We work to avenge him and destroy whatever it is that killed them. I doubt that they would complain -- and if they do, then return it."
With that he picks up the sword, "I agree with Usul...I could certainly use this, but it would likely be better in the hands of one of you" he says, looking at Kal and then Velyra. He tests it, feeling its weight, before offering it to them.
Kal runs a hand down his face, looking back as Silthras makes a counter-argument. It was not unsound logic to him, and above most things survival was paramount to his order. "We could perhaps look into where they went before we leave the town...Paten should know something." He hesitates for a moment, then walks back up to the pedestal. "It still doesn't sit right with me, but I'll certainly feel better about it if we find some undead monster to put down here."
As he begins to take the armor down, he shakes his head at Silthras. "I favor a longsword, as much as the glow would help me in the dark, I'll have to pass."
"You worry too much, and Silthras makes a fine point. That armor could very well be the difference between avenging the Redvales and just getting yourself killed."
To the offering of the shortsword, she waves her hand. "No that's fine, you should use it. I've got plenty of tricks up myself to escape a close quarters situation."

Velyra nudges the human knight with her elbow, nodding towards the armor. "Think you can fit it?"
