The shopkeeper gives a shrug, "500 a piece yes. Apologies, I didn't realize I'd be making..." He pauses briefly to take a head count. "Five of these devices. That will add on a few days...As for your other question, that depends on what you have to trade. What did you have in mind?"
Oh, um. Hm. Sylnora pauses, caught off guard by Kal's request. She gestures to the pockets and pouches attached to her person, "Well I just kind of buy all the components I need from time to time. But if you don't know what you need exactly, a spell casting focus would suffice." Looking to Silthras, she nods, "He uses a wand sometimes I believe, but a focus can be many things." Kal's fighting style comes to mind however, and adds. "In either case, you might have to make some adjustments to your usual style..."
Her nose wrinkles at the price, but she seems otherwise undeterred as she turns back to the old man. After a quick glance at her companions, she nods. "I think we'll take them. Velyra I can cover whatever you can't. These are important to us, but we should avoid giving up things we need."
Unless someone else has a better idea, Syl will begin to count out the required coins from her coinpurse.
However much Vel wants to put towards this, Sylnora will cover the rest. Spending $$$ on diamonds to keep our asses alive is not a waste haha.
Silthras raises his eyebrows, attempting to look at the very stylish and attractive tiara he has been burying under his long hair, then glances at Velyra and shrugs. "Perhaps we should 'lay our cards on the table', so to speak, and see where they lead, eh?" He takes off the jewelry, and glances at the others. "We are quite open to negotiation, and probably have a few things we might be able to trade for things we need" he adds with a warm and friendly smile.
He takes a curious glance at Usul, and shrugs. "I can't say I've seen you before either...Did you come here with someone?"
"nope nope! We've never been in before! Just passed it by a few times maybe."Usul says slightly untruthfully ((deception 20)). The truth is that he had put a non-magical disguise on once and snuck in behind some travelers to peek around, curious of the place Mr. Kwiz so often visited, and knocked over a small steaming bottle that was near the front door before panicking and running away. Then, when discussing the items that will be made asks, "But whatcha gonna make exactly to keep us hidden? How's it work? What's it do?"
Along with the Circlet of Blasting, Silthras runnages in his backpack, then places a Wind Fan on the table, adding "I am sure there are other things we might have for trade."
"Syl you don't have to do that, I'm pretty sure we can come to an arrangement with the gentleman," Velyra says, following Silthras lead. Quickly going through her bag, she pulls out the Spell Gem (Lapis Lazuli), putting it on the counter.
If it isn't enough, she'll consider the Guardian Emblem, but definitely not the Pearl.
"You're right, my hands normally are full." He says, looking around the shop again. "Do you have focuses here?"
Almost absent mindedly, Kal removes the Brooch of Shielding from his collar, tossing it next to the pile. It was given to him by an acquaintance from the Order, but he rarely found use for it. If it meant getting something that would actually protect him, he had no qualms parting with it.
Silthras looks a little surprised, picking up the spell gem for a moment, then replacing it. "We can mix gold and items as necessary" he says, returning his attention to the shop keeper.
The old man squints his eyes at Usul for a moment, then shrugs. "Hmm. I suppose I might have seen you through the window." As Usul looks to the door, he can actually see the same bottle he knocked over on his visit, though it has the crack lines from its previous break - since repaired by magic. "Well, it's a type of amulet." He says, "it'll keep scrying sensors and the like from being able to see you. They're not as uncommon as you might think, but quite effective nonetheless."
He takes a few minutes to cast a quick identifying spell, looking over each item. After a time, he nods with an impressed look on his face. "Quite the collection you have. Each of these would knock off 600 gold pieces on their own."
"As for you my friend," he says, pulling out a box of gems. "This would allow you to focus your magic without having to give up your sword," he says, nodding towards the blade on your person. "Popular among the swordmage types."
Silthras looks at the amulet, "What I would have given to have this a few years ago!" He replaces it on the counter, "It is not a two edged sword? Does it also prevent the sending from working? I suppose...we would just need to agree times, and take it off."
"Ahh, my boy no need to worry. The Sending spell is an entirely different school of magic from divination, it can make it through the enchantment just fine." The man says, bobbing his head.
Silthras nods, "Thank you; it's not magic that I know." Once again, dreaming of barrels of whiskey, he smiles and and asks, "Have you perhaps any items that allow for storage in other places? I have seen such things before ... once seems like a hole made of the deepest darkness, and the other a simple bag."

"Mhm." The shopkeep disappears beneath the counter for a moment, and you hear the clinking of keys as he unlocks a safe. "Only have two of these left now, they're 500 gold per." He says, dropping a Bag of Holding on the counter. "You are aware of how to be cautious with these, yes?"
Silthras grunts, and looks it over, "None of the black holes, then?" In answer to the question he nods, "I've heard tales, but perhaps you'd best explain. I've never owned one."

The old man shakes his head, "the holes? Unfortunately not. Most of my regular client type go for the either of the bags." He lets out a sigh, "do not ever put the bag in a similar type of item. The extra dimensions just fold in on one another and brchhh," he makes an explosion gesture with his hands. "You'll end up lost in the Astral Sea. Not a fun place to be if you don't have a quick way back prepared."
Okay so if we're doing this.
Syl - Pays 500gp Usul - Pays 500gp Kal - Trades Brooch for Gem + Amulet. Adds 20gp Silthras - Amulet + Bag for 2x items. Adds 200gp. Velyra - Trades gem/emblem. Adds 100gp.
Silthras nods sadly, "Oh well. Perhaps next time. I don't suppose we would warrant a bulk discount, if I assure you that these will all be put to good use in the interests of the greater good? It does seem likely that we shall be returning customers."

If any of their companions instead decide to take the spell gem, Velyra will offer up the Guardian Emblem in exchange for the amulet.
