After spending a few minutes of searching the books, Best sees that all of the book titles have the word "Secret". Such book titles include Secrets and Angels, Secret of the Sword, and Secrets without Fear.

“The secret we should never let the gamemasters know is that they don't need any rules.” ― Gary Gygax
Best responds to Nephris "Everything here seems to contain secrets, there are Angels and Secrets, Secret of the Sword, etc.. Not sure how to use these things? Any ideas?"
"Any books not about secrets? Perfect place to hide something, right? Room full of books on secrets, the last place you think is the one that says nothing about secrets," Nephris says as he moves over to look at the books Best indicates. He then steps back to the centre of the round room and points over at the desk to the south-west, "Maybe the desk there might have something?"
Katharine catches the book as Nephris throws it over.
"Well, unless there's a book about spirits, we still have to find those yet. I think we're standing inside a big mechanism. The door opened when the clock was changed to one, Jacob Barley said we will encounter the first spirit at one. So where is the spirit?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"True," Neprhis nods as he moves towards the south-west desk, "First at one. When was the next meant to happen?" As he gets to the desk along the wall, Nephris looks through it and anything sitting on top (Investigation: 15).
As Nephris moves to the south-west, he looks at the desk and notices a few pieces of parchment with handwriting similar to the writing on the notes that were left in your homes. It seems that this desk is where Dresden, himself, leans to write down whatever he decides to write. Though attempting to read the writing is a bit confusing as Dresden seems to on a few tangents to complain about, amongst other things, the people of Ostenwold.
However, to Nephris' left is a room full of old, brittle books. In the middle of the room stands a woman with golden skin and large, feathery wings. The woman notices Nephris standing by the writing desk and lets out a laugh like wind chimes, then she calls out,
"Behold! I am the Spirit of Christmas Past. To find that which you desire most, answer me this riddle;
"When you have me, you feel like sharing me. But if you do share me, you don't have me. What am I?"
Katharine follows Nephris to the other room having heard the riddle and wanting to see the woman for herself.
"Hmm, I'm not too sure what the answer is," she says a hushed voice to Nephris. "I think this could be a trick. Is there anything in this room that could be a clue?"
Nephris laughs at the spirit's riddle and Katherine's question, and then instinctively answers, "Would it not be a secret? I mean, this room is full of books on secrets after all."
Best listens and when Nephris answers he gets excited "That's it, that's it, of course! I always want to share my secrets but once I have they are no longer secret!"
Nephris nods and joins Katherine at the clock mechanism. He points across the the door on the opposite side of where they came up the stairs (east side of tower), "Perhaps if the stairs led up from below back there, they will continue up over there? Maybe we just need to walk upstairs? But try the clock first, that seems the best bet at this stage."

"A spellbook?" Katharine asks of Nephris. "I could do with a spellbook. Though I'm not sure I will find time to study it much in this tower."
Nephris tosses the spell book to Katherine with a nod, then turns to Best. "What have you found my friend? Any interesting books?"
"Anything that would tell us where to go next?" Cade asks as he swirls around the library, fluttering pages as he passes.
Best responds to Nephris "Everything here seems to contain secrets, there are Angels and Secrets, Secret of the Sword, etc.. Not sure how to use these things? Any ideas?"

The woman let's out another laugh like wind chimes, "That is correct answer. You will meet the next spirit at two."
She then disappears before your very eyes.

"Well done." Cade says with a chuckle. He whirls around the chamber. "Do we need to leave and reset the clock then?"
"I think we need to change clock by an hour," Katharine says. "This should hopefully reveal the next spirit."
Katharine then maks her way back to the clock, waiting for everyone else to arrive before moving the clock hands.
Best follows Katharine, "Go ahead it worked well for us last time" He smiles and waits anxiously for Katharine to change the clock.
