Since you're still looking and I didn't get to post an idea before, I'll throw my idea in the lot :)
Name: Baldur Stormstout
Race: Hill Dwarf (Tasha's to change +1 Wis to Cha)
Class: College of Valor Bard
Backstory: Baldur came from a long line of brewers and the Stormstout Ale was well known in dwarves circles. But he always wanted more, and so as it was his turn to take over the brewing business, he took to the road, travelling as a skald and entertaining in taverns and inns along the way. Determined to make the name Stormstout known in the realms, he has been going from town to town, peddling his brew and enjoying the fruits of his labours. But during his travels, he heard of troubles around Silverfair, and what better way to make a name for himself, and his brew, than saving the day!
Name: Cade Leafcatcher Character Race: Halfling (Stout) Character Class: Monk (Long Death) Backstory: Master Hilltopple and Master Thornbristle watched the young halfling work through the forms of the kata, flowing smoothly from strike to block to throw and back to strike, starting the sequence again, though the specific moves were each different. They said nothing, though their eyes missed nothing. Neither did they look at their guest, Marcus of Vend, priest of Myrkul. After many long minutes, Sister Paela called the novice monk to halt and sent him for water. She did not approach the masters or the priest, who turned to each other.
"He moves well, though not really any better than the other students I have observed," Marcus said. "Why did you want me to consider him?"
Master Hilltopple answered. "Brother Cade has completed his trials and tests and seems drawn to the Way of the Long Death, of which I am the monastery's master." The priest knew this last part and nodded. "You have asked for a young monk to serve the temple at Wo'Reth as guardian and student, though you have been...particular about the particular monk. However, when we saw the direction of Brother Cade's interest, and the inquisitive nature of his mind, we thought again of your request." Master Thornbristle nodded agreement.
Marcus turned to regard the young halfling, stretching his muscles now that he'd drunk his fill. After a moment, he nodded. "I will speak with him."
The masters said nothing but gestured Cade to come over then withdrew to give the two privacy.
Marcus studied Brother Cade carefully for several long moments, noting the ease of his posture which at the same time was not remotely slack, the confidence in the eyes and bearing, and the patient acceptance of the moment. "What is your name, Brother?" he finally asked.
"Cade Leafcather, Priest," he replied.
Marcus noted the confidence and clear diction of the answer and was pleased. Clearly this youth was intelligent and had some education. "Do you know why I am here?"
"Yes, Priest Marcus." He said nothing more so Marcus gestured for him to continue. "You have requested a monk of this monastery to serve the Temple of Myrkul at Wo'Reth as guardian and student." He stopped again but Marcus saw beneath the monkish exterior the youthful excitement Cade strove hard to conceal and so waited, hiding his own smile. He was liking this young halfling more and more. Soon the silence was too much and Cade continued. "I want to go, Priest Marcus. The mysteries of death fascinate me and I want to learn about them, about many things, in fact. I also want to see more of the world beyond the monastery. I want to learn all I can." Marcus wondered in Cade realized how flushed his face had become, his excitement at the idea of learning and seeing clearing showing through. Marcus reached his decision, though he said nothing.
As Cade wound down, the priest said, "You know you are committing yourself to three years of service, Brother?" Of course the youngster knew, Marcus thought, but it had to be said.
"Yes, Priest. I am happy to serve for that long, and longer if needed." The excitement in his voice could not be feigned.
Marcus nodded. "Go and pack. We leave in an hour." Cade nodded respectfully and then dashed off, youthful exuberance triumphing over monkish decorum.
The masters returned. Both were smiling widely and Marcus quirked an eyebrow at them. "We knew you would select Brother Cade," said Master Thornbristle. Marcus could only laugh. "You are both so wise," he said with good humor.
"We know," they replied in unison, just as lightly.
For three years, Brother Cade worked hard and studied harder, learning the ways of Myrkul and death, studying and reading. He did not neglect his body and his skills there kept pace with his mental acumen. He might have remained for many years more, had not word come of an unusual infestation of undead at the town of Silverfair. Marcus, now high-priest, called Brother Cade to him.
After giving the young halfling what information they had, he said, "Brother Cade, your three years of service to the Temple was done 6 months ago. It is time for you to expand your knowledge of the world. Go to Silverfair, learn what you can, do what you can to help stop the infestation. Return when that is completed.
"Yes, High-Priest," Brother Cade bowed formally to Marcus and left. He hated the very idea of undead. It was an affront to Myrkul and death, interfering the with natural process of dying. He would do all in his power to stop it.

CHARACTER INFO
Name: Sucrale Vatsk
Race: Human (Variant)
Class: Druid
Background: Criminal/Spy
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Faith: None
Backstory:
It was a dark night out on the vast seas, shrouded by dense fog, as a smuggler’s vessel neared a mysterious ship. The mysterious ship, on closer inspection, appeared to be adrift or abandoned. With no clear signs of life, the smuggler rafted up his ship to the other ship then boarded. The smuggler searched the entire ship, only to find nothing but a young human boy, about three years of age, below deck tucked away in an empty barrel. The boy was all by himself – cold, wet, and starving. What had happened to his caretakers? How did he come to be in the middle of the sea?!
This smuggler was known as an elven male called Thenerios Vatsk. Theneiros took the boy back home and raised him as if he were his own, given the name of Sucrale Vatsk. Thenerios was a high-ranking member of the local Thieves’ Guild, so Sucrale’s upbringing was far from normal. Theneiros taught Sucrale everything he knew as he mentored him in the arts of thievery and espionage.
As years went, Sucrale excelled in the trade of espionage, smuggling valuable information – thanks to his rigorous training, discipline, and innate abilities. Sucrale often sailed the seas with his father, where he tracked and reported shipping or trading routes that contained high value targets for the Thieves’ Guild to plunder or sell to the highest bidder.
Life was good for Sucrale, until one ill-fated day. A powerful merchant lord, Ugrotir Coinmaker, had mysteriously gotten wind that he was a target. With this knowledge, the merchant lord laid out a trap and captured Sucrale and his father. Both were tortured for what felt like weeks, in attempt to obtain valuable information about their employer and their plans. Theneiros was loyal to the Thieves’ Guild and Sucrale was loyal to his father; therefore, attempts to glean any value information failed.
Disappointed, Ugrotir brutally beat Sucrale’s father to death as he was forced to watch. Sucrale’s torture continued for several more days, starved of food and water. His body looked as if it were mauled by wolves – covered in burns and deep wounds. His left eye torn from its socket. Ugrotir had enough and left Sucrale for dead, unable to escape from the chains that held him.
Fortunately, fate was finally on Sucrale’s side. Agents of the Thieves’ Guild miraculously managed to track down Theneiros location, only to find his decomposing body at Sucrale’s feet. Sucrale’s life clung onto a thread as the agents freed him from his chains. The merchant lord was nowhere in sight.
Sucrale was brought back home for medical treatment. Theneiros’s body was also recovered, burned and scattered across the sea. After Sucrale’s recovery, he was given the opportunity to join the Thieves’ Guild, should he set out on an adventure and prove his worth.
Detailed Description:
You see a tall, slender human male with tawny skin and dark brown hair that falls to his shoulders, pulled back into a half-pony. Scars are no stranger to his body as they can be seen across the entire thin mass that is his body. A black eye patch is worn over his left eye, hiding away whatever misfortune or secret* that lie behind it. At twenty-seven years of age, he looks older than he is - his body aged and worn from a harsh lifestyle.
* Beneath the weathered eye patch hides his hallowed eye socket occupied by a polished rare black diamond, which acts as his totem.
Name: Kishori Character Race: Goblin Character Class: Ranger Backstory: Kishori was a goblin cursed with curiosity. Always wanting to explore beyond the territories of his clan, always wondering about the other races, no matter how many times it was said to avoid them. Despite his best efforts to follow the clan leaders words, inevitably he would always wander, often landing him in trouble, if not from the dangers he encountered then from the chief who would yell at him afterwards. Still, his skills served the clan well, even while his curiosity drove him to explore further and further. Hook: Happy to work out details later. My thought is the rise of these undead has affected more lives then just those in the more "civilized" towns. When the undead decimate his goblin settlement, he decides to seek the help of the adventurers on the road.
