Elves actually do have a 35 foot move. Gijigume may have been able to act. But he wisely opted to not block the steps instead. No shorty's in this party. That's a surprise.

The last time I played was 4E and I’m finding that I keep getting tripped up all the little differences between versions.
Aeliarin will make his double move to get clear if he's still alive and kicking after the orcs have their turn.
You are already clear of danger. You'll be in position to act after the Orcs. It seems likely the DM has delayed their action in order to allow Jimmop the opportunity to prevent his character's death.

(Aeliarin Guidance, a fantastic spell, only effects ability checks (Athletics, History, and so on) it's not a great choice in combat, unless you're desperately trying to climb out of an acid filled pit or something.)
Fah'lin stabs the orc that Grond struck (O2).
Attack hitting AC 10 for 9 piercing
(To roll a check with Guidance, Jimmop you'd use [ roll]1d20+1d4+5[/roll ] or what ever your bonus is +5 in this case (23) unfortunately guidance doesn't apply to attack rolls normally)
I'm going to shortsword and unarmed strice orc 1 then move back into the other tunnel by moving 4 squares
Short sword Attack: 21 Damage: 7
Fists:Attack: 19 Damage: 5
The nine on the short sword attack was from using guidance
You can move but as you didn't quite kill Orc1 you will be subject to
Opportunity Attacks
In a fight, everyone is constantly watching for a chance to strike an enemy who is fleeing or passing by. Such a strike is called an opportunity attack.
You can make an opportunity attack when a hostile creature that you can see moves out of your reach. To make the opportunity attack, you use your reaction to make one melee attack against the provoking creature. The attack occurs right before the creature leaves your reach.
If you move into the western tunnel (I assume that's what you mean) you would be attacked twice O1 and O4
