((Is Azzure able to tell that the drums he hears from farther in the cave are an echo (with the same beat) from the drums sounds coming from outside? Or separate sounds, a different rhythm?))

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
(ok. If the same drums are much more audible outside, that means an Orc clan/army outside is potentially coming down the path to meet us - and inside the cave it seems we may meet some Undead. Now, I guess we could try to avoid both by just waiting near the entrance until the Orcs have passed, or we could actually explore the cave system. Gryrig is feeling adventurous, in particular as caves always lend great mystery and dark drama (for the next stanza of his song), so he would prefer to explore the cave. Any other thoughts?)
If we were really smart, we’d find a way to get them to fight each other…
”Do we have a way of remotely viewing the orcs as they go by without revealing ourselves?” asks Duncan, wary of fighting foes both in front and behind.

"I have a Hat of Disguise and Boots of False Tracks I could lend you - which might help if you're trying to stay undetected.
But I really think we shouldn't risk waiting around for them to show up. This dark cavern simple exudes dramatic tension. I bet we can find some loot and excitement in here - and hopefully these uncultured Orcs will have passed by the time we are done in here."
(Your call, but Gryrig would rather avoid the horde altogether instead of hoping that we're not spotted)
"I can have Trevor sitting near the entrance to the cave so as we head in, we'll know if the horde decides to come in or pass the cave by?" Torman suggests, unsure of the dark cave as it is, but definitely doesn't want to face the horde.
“Sure, that sounds fine. Let’s head further in this cave and see what we can find.” Azzure starts to walk in and look around, looking for any sign of prior occupants or any signs of humanoid or beast inhabitants.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
You walk in and find that no one is around. Further in you can see where the Cave drops downwards at a 75 degree angle. Its warmer in this cave being out of the wind and underground. You feel that it must be a balmy, 60degrees. You also see what looks like the start of a rope ladder where it drops down.
"Ahh.." Torman visibly shudders a bit as the bitter cold leaves his body now that they are out of the bitter wind. He looks over to where the cave starts dropping down, seeing if he can make anything out with his darkvision. "Shall we head down?"
btw Kat and the group notes that this entrance/exit, is not well used. She also notes some large, nonhumanoid piles of scat/dung here and there, and some shovel marks in this level of the cave. But no signs of the creature would make such a large pile.
((Shovel marks as if someone was coming to collect the dung? And it is the piles that are large, but the individual dung is small.. we're not wandering into the home of something that craps out turds the size of a horse, right?))

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Kat wanders over, wrinkling her nose at the dung piles. She peers at it, trying to determine how fresh it is, whether it was deposited here by the... producers... and if she can tell what sort of creature that is. Who'd be shoving poo in a cave in the middle of the mountains?
Nature: 21

"Heads up, literally. Think this pile was made by a giant bat... or multiple giant bats, it's fresh, but good bet they live somewhere in here. Someone's been shoveling at the poo, but doubt it take a whole orc warband to collect fertilizer."

"Interesting. But I feel this fertiliser can't be the only reason why someone would go into this cave. There are better ways to get fertiliser. And why someone would have hewn the stone just to keep some bats? Perhaps this rope ladder is the rear entrance to something more interesting, and whoever maintains the back entrance simply has to occasionally clear out the bat guano to keep it free and usable. I think we should head down the rope ladder and see what we find below."
Having been in the cold for a while now, Gryrig is quite looking forward to a nice bit of heat to warm his bones and dry his clothes, so is quite happy to move down the ladder deeper into the caves.

(Maybe the cave is a good place to wait for the Orc army[?] to pass us by unnoticed. Gryrig isn't really all that keen on fighting a whole Clan)

Kat believes it was made by a Giant bat maybe at last dawn course they're a few piles older than that.
But you're not sure but maybe an orc.
